Stump Grinding by Broadleaf using a Camon SG30 - 13 Aug 2020 (4K)

Broadleaf Tree Surgery and Landscaping carry out stump grinding to remove very hard 30 year old Yew Tree stumps along a footpath. The grinder is a Camon SG30, its good for smaller stumps and getting into awkward places.

Hi Mark,
Yes, these very old Yew tree stumps were a real test for this grinder. This wood was as hard as it gets. Grinding fresh stumps of softer wood would better suit the capabilities of this particular grinder.
Luckily I was behind the camera well away from the hard work!

@@MartinHealy Hi, thanks Martin. I was going to hire one of these Camon grinders, but having seen this video I think I'm going to go with a "Rayco" grinder which has the "finger" teeth instead of the rotatable green teeth. Regards, Mark

@@Marktb363 Good luck with your stump grinding. One tip - carefully inspect the teeth when you hire the grinder. This Camon was supplied with badly worn teeth that would not touch these tough Yew stumps. So it had to go back to the hire shop to have the teeth changed. A few wasted hours. Don't forget to wear all the PPE.

Yep - loud and proud. Amazing to see a relatively small grinder destroying very hard Yew stumps. This work has made the path much safer. ATB Martin

​@@MartinHealy Oh tree stumps are a pain the beep !!! LOL ! I have had a few near escapes from slipping & tripping over stumps.
