Young lady....you're only seeing the tip of the iceberg with this artist. Dig deeper. He's one of the most talented artists of our time. Unique style born from his love of the blues and is Irish heritage. He plays the sax, guitar, and piano, writes, produces and arranges. His roots are deep in the blues but he's managed to fuse his influences in brilliant ways. Like I said....dig.
I've been listening to Van for nearly sixty years. And you description of him here, nails it. Have a great one!
He is the best of all time in my opinion.
Exactly. You really think hes talking about Chicks on the Highway. L.m.a.o.
Van Morrison has been an icon for decades. Try "Brown-Eyed Girl," "Moondance," "Into The Mystic" and "Tupelo Honey"
Start next with Into the Mystic but they are all master pieces ...
I agree.. ♠W.G.
Tupelo Honey!!
Did you know that brown eye girl was sincere?
My understanding is that he was seeing an African woman and wrote the song (your my brown skin girl)
He had to change the world in order to record it.
Again this is my understanding
IMO, someone like you and Into the Mystic are his best songs.
My wife and I have been married for 48 years, and Van Morrison has been the soundtrack of our marriage. I introduced her to Van, when we in high school, and we’ve been listening to him ever since. You really can’t go wrong with anything by him.
Van Morrison is what my wife and I put on for... Romance. We could be in a Walmart and if he comes on, we dance. :)
His very best song, IMHO, is Into the Mystic. But he has a zillion hits.
no lie!!!
me and mine too!!😎😎😎
"Discovered" him late in life - he's amazing. I'm 70...always good to know there are still so many wonderful discoveries out there.
His Voice is like a warm coat for the Soul🥰
Walked down the aisle to this song in my 2nd marriage. We were both 49. Loved this song for decades and we realized this song’s lyrics fit so well. We’d both lived life and had a lot of difficult times. He was a veteran. Just a perfect song.
And this time I got it right. He is my soul mate.
Great reaction.
He is a very talented songwriter! My favorite VM song is “Into the Mystic”. It’s about a man who just can’t wait to get home to his lady. Give it a listen sometime. I think you’ll enjoy it! ❤️
Queen Of The Slipstream is another great one from Van
Nice reaction. Another great song by him that pulls on the heart strings is “Have I Told You Lately”.
"Into The Mystic"
Queen of the Slipstream by Van Morrison! I love Van Morrison.
You can never go wrong with Van Morrison!!! At our wedding this song was my husband and I first dance. It also incorporated my aunt who passed who taught me a greater love for music and he was one of our favorites. ❤️❤️
Van the man is an interesting character....A style all his own.
This was one of two Van Morrison songs we had in our wedding, the other was "I forgot that love existed." Van Morrison is the soundtrack of our life together.
Irish Soul in the house. Thanks for the delightful reaction.
Almost every Ban the Man tune has that same passion and Moodance will make you cry in happiness!
Van Morrison is a poet and one of the 10 best musicians in history imho
I think I agree, but who are the other nine? To me he certainly is the best composer with the most expressive voice, of anyone that's come along since music was first recorded...
@@haskellbob well you would have to include Stephen Stills to that list along with Neil Young , Paul McCartney , I would be inclined to add Bob Dylan and Bruce Springsteen, Bob Seger
Van Morrison's musical library is chock full of great great songs. And, although he suffers from stage freight. his performances are 'legendary'. There are several songs that have kept me between the ditches for many years. Love this artist.
" have I told you lately " more lovely piano playing ❤️
"Into the Mystic" by Van Morrison. You will not be disappointed
My eldest daughter enjoys specially some like you so do i most of van Morrison songs i like and enjoy ,songs like did you get healed, foreign window, bright side of the road and lots more , van Morrison deserves plenty well done you are the man
This was the song I walked down the aisle to.
Omg... this is one of my all time favourite song!
Gorgeous song love his voice and writes beautiful songs ✌️🕊️❤️💕
Thank you so much for delving into the world of Van "The Man" Morrison.
I’ve always loved his voice. Anything he does is great. Loved watching you enjoy this! 😊🌹
It’s been said before but no one uses their voice as an instrument quite like Van Morrison
The woman who all of his early songs (Brown Eyed Girl, Crazy Love, Moondance and Astral Weeks albums) were written about was his first wife, Janet Rigsbee, who he renamed Janet Planet (a name she didn't like). She left him in 1973, or as she put it, escaped. She, like many other people confused Morrison's music with the man, who was described by Joe Smith, Warner Bros' executive and the man who signed him as, "A hateful little guy." However, Smith felt that he was the greatest voice in rock and roll at the time.
According to Janet, "The music was everything you could hope for as a romantic. The man was a prickly pear." Morrison himself openly admitted that he was not a nice person. Sadly, Janet could not reconcile the fragile dream of the songs that he claimed were true at night with his rage that had become her daily life. Of course, by this time Van was a money-making machine and everyone blamed her for his eventual musical slump that lasted thru the 80s (until 1987, when he wrote "Someone Like You," which may be about his second wife, or about looking for someone like Janet nobody knows for sure).
As Kevin Courtney, journalist for the Irish Times put it: ". . .it's still oddly fascinating to try and square this Scrooge-like caricature with such beautiful, transcendental songs as "Sweet Thing," "Madame George," "Tupelo Honey," "Crazy Love," and "Into The Mystic." Maybe that's why Van's music has been so great - it's the only way the nice guy locked inside him can get out.
"Maybe that's why Van's music has been so great - it's the only way the nice guy locked inside him can get out."
I am shocked, but think that may be a remarkably insightful comment
There’s a yin for every yang man, you really can’t have it all
That’s deep, I can relate the only way the nice guy locked inside can get out….. this is a rare song that brings me to tears every time 👍
Thank you love Van!
My all time favourite Van Morrison song!
Watching your reaction, makes it all worthwhile! Glad I ran across your review. Thanks!
What a good reaction! I've loved Van Morrison forever! This song gets to me.
Never herd this song but loved it , pulling my guitar out learning it to play it for my wife. Thank you 🎼🎸
I love Van Morrison! and specifically this song. Love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Also your reaction!!!!
Damn!!! That piano
Pink Floyd and Van Morrison the same day, impressive. Brown Eyed Girl- Into the Mystic
My second husband and me played this while I walked down the aisle to this song. Summed up our lives. Thanks for reacting and getting Van Morrison. Listen to more of him if you can (Tupelo Honey, caravan, Have I Told You Lately…)
I never heard this before. But Van is the man!
Van Morrison there will be days like this 🙌🙌🙌
I was reminded recently that in two days it marks an anniversary of a first date that I had 27 years ago. I went to a bar with my date and the band playing was led by a friend of mine. About an hour into the date he dedicated a song to my date and it was the signature song of Van Morrison, namely "Brown Eyed Girl". 27 years later she is still my brown eyed girl and I feel so lucky.
Such a sweet comment!
Terrific !
"Queen of the Slipstream" lady.
Yes.
All of Van Morrison songs are a work of art.
First time I heard this man was 1972, I was 10 years old. In 1962 Jim Morrison was singing "Gloria", written by Van Morrison, he invited Van up to sing with him; Van got booed off stage?? That's Rock and Roll
I'm digging your choices so much. These are so many of my all time playlist songs. I feel your reactions, you can't deny those sounds. It's in our bones. If you have time I really think you'd enjoy Ray Lamontagne "let it be me" ... I think the world needs more of these soul snatching songs that make you feel those emotions. Thank you for keeping me entertained.💜
Someone exactly like Royce 🥰😅
Van Morrison, “Moondance” 👍
This is me and my SO's song. Always has been since we first heard it. The Best is Yet to Come!
This was my wedding song--- I got it from the movie Only The Lonely, and I still play it when I want to dance with my wife.
Finally someone did it React to SOMEONE LIKE YOU
`Up and down the highway`....It`s a metaphor. What a beautiful love song. Love your cool choice`s in music.
So good to see the younger generation appreciate talent and this man has it in abundance.
My ultimate fantasy is a musical collaboration of Van the Man James Taylor and Karen Carpenter to just to hear probably three of the greatest vocalists together don’t know if it would have worked but my god I’d love to see if it did
My all time favourite Van Morrison song is ‘Into the Mystic’ It takes some beating, in my opinion.
I have to add my vote for "Into the Mystic" and "Tupelo Honey", You really can't beat Van Morrisons voice and delivery.
Into the mystic is a must by Van 😎
I found my ''soul mate'' from far across the sea in a distant land. We meet & listen to music ''across the air waves'' every night & Van M., especially this song, is one of our favorites. But alas, to her I am just a friend. But I can look no further. Being her friend is far better than being without her.'' The Heart is a Lonely Hunter''.
caressing its way into our hearts
This song suits so well to you miss. In and out. Now you know what's moving me... ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Wow you found him, he has a huge songlist , his music is timeless and effortless and always mesmerising. Definitely Queen of the Slipstream is not everyone's first choice but an amazing song to get lost in. Enjoy . Oh this was in the movie Love Actually.
This was just so, so lovely. ❤️🎶
RR, gotta listen to "Into the Mystic". Van is one of my Sunday night music choices to wind down the weekend and get ready for the week.
Floyd and Morrison in the same day😁 Growing up and going to see some of these artists was mind blowing, keep doing what you're doing. Sending love from the UK

This is my favourite Van Morrison song. You can find it in the Bridget Jones’ Diary soundtrack.
It's also in "Only the Lonely", with John Candy and Maureen O'Hara - and Ally Sheed.
Listen to " have I told you lately" is a van Morrison classic
Such a beautiful love song . Check out the whole album. Such quality
You are so wise beyond your years. Your grasp of the many subtleties of music comes from somewhere beyond. Oh and I have studied people all my life and I can tell by the angle of your jawline and other facial features that you are a descendent of royalty. I am trying to narrow it down to where from. Yes
Royalty eh? Well my name does mean son of a king 😄😂
Takes me 22 years back. This was our song. I was 20
How lucky for you.. Van the man will be with you forever
Van Morrison - Sweet Thing ;)
My favorite all time artist. Dylan is a close second.
"You are me, and I am you, and we are all together". My exact feelings, but Bob may be one. Depends on the mood.
If the song doesn't have passion,it ain't Van Morrison.
He also wrote "Have I Told You Lately That I Love You"
This song touches me deeply into my Taiwanness Soul.
they way young lovers do. his best
Love your passion, you're so beautiful. Van has to be one of my favourites.
This song was also in the romantic comedy "Only the Lonely" with John Candy and Ally Sheedy. Van another beautiful song you might check out. He wrote and performed "Have I Told You Lately That I Love You" which Rod Stewart had a huge hit with several years ago.
Van the Man - one of my favorites for decades!
Into the mystic
I love your reaction and live the song. Haven't heard it before.

Que bueno por Dios, me encanta Van Morrison, me parece espectacular, gracias por hacerme sentir y recordar 🎶🌈💙🎶👏
You're gonna love "Brown Eyed Girl" by Van Morrison. Can't help but dance in your chair. The song is so much fun.
That song was played @ my best friends wedding and my fave of all time it reminds me of my auntie who passed a year ago. It reminds me of how much I’m worth it and our bond together such a bueaty ❤
A wonderful reaction to a beautiful song.
One of the greatest artists/ musician's/ lyricist in music history.
You should give a listen to his Album; "ASTRAL WEEKS" it's a master piece in music and poetry/ song. Some of the best musician's in the industry. All acoustic, from floor bass , guitar, strings etc. Van is a musician's musician as well.
My take of him on the highway and traveling. Is based on him on the road all his life as a musician, making it difficult to find a true lover) soulmate. Not necessarily he was on the road looking etc.
For the lounge sound today. But back in the day we were drinking good wine with candles, and incense burning. With pillows/cushionsc on the floor. And definitely found my soulmate. Had 45 years together.
VM also has Brown-Eyed Girl, Moondance, Tupelo Honey and others
Mmmmm.. felt like I was sitting in that cafe sipping a jazz smoothy... gulp~~...;-))
This is one of my top 5 songs. ❤
2 feet down this rabbit hole. So many good songs. My fave is Jackie Wilson Said. Irish soul!!!
Van Morrison " Moon Dance" is the song to listen to.
Thank you for another great reaction from your cafe - I mean lounge! Van Morrison is an awesome singer/musician! Try Into The Mystic, Tupelo Honey or Have I Told You Lately That I love You? Best wishes to you, as always!!
No conocía a este cantante😊gracias por presentarmelo me encanta😋
Yes you have to check out his Into the Mystic
When you have an orchestra behind you you know you doing ok. Translate this song into any language and it's just good.. Love heals.
Nice to join you here. You have reacted to a wonderful variety of performers and artists and am looking forward to see what other.pleasant surprises you reveal.
You might like Mr.Morrison's "Hymns to the Silence". I believe it's one of his finest. Thank you and wish you lots of sunshine and joy !
I belong to the Church of Van Morrison!! This is one of my favorite songs!! I play it all the time!! Best love song of all times!! ❤
Love his music! You can't miss with any of his songs! "Tupelo Honey" is one of my favorites.
