I loved your Top Horror of 2020 so I decided to come back here :). Great list Jason. Looking at the DATE of this video upload, don't you wish you could send a message back in time to yourself and say "Hey, uh, a global pandemic will be hitting soon so get your ass our to a movie theater pronto!" Hopefully we will be back to life soon... All I can say is THANK GOD for streaming platforms. They have helped keep me sane during this time as I can binge tons of horror movies that perhaps never would have gone to the theater and also being able to go back and watch older stuff I never got around to seeing. Anyways, love your content man. Keep in up.

Thanks again Jason, love hearing your opinions! I adore the Lighthouse, give me Willem Dafoe and Gary Oldman all day everyday. I was really disappointed with Doctor sleep 😬 but love all of Flanagans films.

Nice list! a good few of them i still haven't seen. but i agree with the top 3. I'd probably say Doctor Sleep was my #1 but still need to check out the Directors Cut. same with the Midsommar Cut.

Hugs for the high ranking of Dr. Sleep. I loved it upon my first theatrical viewing and absolutely fell in love with it upon watching the directors cut. OMG is this cut incredible, the scenes or minutes or even seconds that were added back in here and there so enriched the movie and made it into my top five movies of all time. Thrilled they put in that red bathroom scene, what a rush! Loved the book, loved the movie ....

I still have to check out a couple of these on your list. Dry blood was added to Tubi so I should get it watched this week. I’m right there with you on Annabelle Comes Home. I thought it was easily the best Conjuring spin-off and made my top ten as well. Midsommar was my number 1. I love that movie so much and Florence Pugh is basically my Emma Roberts lmao which just makes me love it more. Surprisingly while I can respect the performances in the lighthouse it didn’t necessarily wow me like it did some people but I still liked it regardless. I’m glad some people absolutely love it though. It’s definitely a very unique movie.

HEADCOUNT, YES! That is the very first review of yours I watched, when I first found your channel, and I too LOVED that film, and your review inspired me to create the first review on Google for that film. A definite "thinking-person's" horror movie in which it is important to carefully notice what is happening in the background of the characters in order to fully appreciate the film. Thanks as always, my friend.

I now have some new horror movies to check out. 6-10 for sure. Crawl may have surprised me the most this year. I was thinking stupid throw away movie going and now one of my favorite animal horror movies of all time. I need to try the light house again though. I watched the first 20 minutes one night and for whatever reason was not feeling it ( Didn't help that I was already really tired going into it. But I love both actors and loved that it was in B&W. Also 100% agree on Velvet Buzzsaw. Right when I started this video I quickly did my own favorites and under worst I only wrote down Velvet Buzzsaw. Great top 10 and I can't wait to start watching some of the ones I missed from your list.

Have you seen the movie The House That Jack Built? I heard the unrated version just hit blu ray. I'll be checking that out soon. Looks great. I heard that movie has scenes that made hardcore horror fans cringe. We'll have to wait and see.
Awesome video, as always. Thank you 😎😎😎😎😎

Love the video, love the list! Obviously some stuff I strongly agreed with, a couple things I didn't feel quite the same about- that's always going to happen though. No one is a carbon copy of someone else, especially with something like cinema. A couple I haven't seen yet, so I've got some new movies to watch.
    Here's mine:
    10. Depraved
    09. Bliss
    08. Ready or Not
    07. It Chapter Two
    06. The Lighthouse
    05. Doctor Sleep
    04. Us
    03. Daniel Isn't Real
    02. Color Out of Space (counting as 2019)
    01. Midsommar
Honorable Mentions: Crawl, Villains, The Laplace's Demon (forgot it was 2019), Come to Daddy, Escape Rooom, Little Monsters, Lifechanger, and Snatchers.
p.s. I liked Annabelle Comes Home too! And Velvet Buzzsaw was my biggest disappointment as well lol.

I need to watch your other picks but the top 3 I agree 150%. Now you have me dying to see the director's cut but I seen Doctor Sleep in theaters and loved it a lot. Midsommar and Lighthouse were so very unique and different and I loved them. The opening scene of Midsommar is what completely horrified me from the jump. The suicide scene made my girlfriend scream. Then the ending had us both silent and traumatized. Willem Dafoe gives the best performance of his career which says a lot and Robert Pattinson is a great actor. Anyone who doubts the "Twilight guy" go watch a great A24 film called The Rover.

Jason I got a huge recommendation for you! If you enjoy the Warren stuff then watch a early 90s made for TV film called The Haunted. It is the most genuinely frightening haunted house film I have ever seen and it has older versions of Ed and Lorraine Warren. It stars Jeff Demunn from TWD and Darabont films. His family is stalked and terrorized by a totally scary non CGI entity. It is also based on a true story.

  • @HolyCrapItsRBA

Headcount was good, but I didn’t think it was amazing. I think if they got a bigger budget it could be the start of a new horror franchise. The idea behind it is awesome, but you don’t really get to see the kills and there just could have been more to it. I blame that on thier budget though. You get really engaged with watching the characters to see if their double is somewhere else.
On a side note do you have an Into the Dark review coming for My Valentine?

  • @NorthWolfe
    @NorthWolfe Před 4 lety

Well, our top two are the same, in reverse order, and I liked all the movies on your list which I got to see (2 or 3 I had no time to watch). "It" was an enjoyable but mediocre movie, I still prefer the old TV series. As for Dr Sleep, it wouldn't be in my top 10, but I can understand that Stephen King fans would like it... Stanley Kubrick's "version" has nothing to do with Stephen King's Shining, fortunately. After buying a copy of the script at Pinewood Studios, and going thru Kubrick's archives, I fail to understand why he even put King's name in the credits... Studio contractual duties, copyright, or licencing, no doubt.
    Anyway, loved your list,
    Cheers.
PS: Hope I get to see more movies this year, I'm missing a lot from 2018 and 2019. So, I probably wouldn't be qualified to do a top 20 for both those years ;)
