The O2 is a large entertainment district on the Greenwich peninsula in South East London, England, including an indoor arena, a music club, a Cineworld cinema, an exhibition space, piazzas, bars, and restaurants. It was built largely within the former Millennium Dome, a large dome-shaped canopy built to house an exhibition celebrating the turn of the third millennium.
It is sometimes referred to as The O2 Arena, but that name properly refers to an indoor arena within The O2. Naming rights to the district were purchased by the mobile telephone provider O2 from its developers.
The area is served by the Jubilee line's North Greenwich tube station, which was opened just before the millennium exhibition, and by bus routes. Thames Clippers operate a riverboat service for London River Services. As well as a commuter service, Thames Clippers operates the O2 Express service. Local buses also serve the station and the nearby O2.

I came here on a school trip weeks after it was built when it was called the millennium dome. They told us that they may have to change its purpose as so much was spent and it didn't attact as many people as they hoped as an exhibition centre, hense the O2.

So where’s the actual arena and how do you get to it?

It’s in north Greenwhich and you can get here via London Underground (subway) on the Jubilee Line, which is best if you’re not local.
The concert venue is accessed via the entrance hall. You’ll see it as you enter the Dome. There’s a multiplex cinema in there too, as well as many shops and restaurants.
