Check out this lovely old German made electro-mechanical FULLY AUTOMATIC turntable from the early 70's! Vinyl snob approved! Also could this feature a $700 Grasp cart?
I scored a minty 1219 last year for just $20. Sent it to Bill at FixMyDual and he performed his magic on it. The cart/stylus/sled was missing, so I got a Best Audio TK14 and fitted it with a new AT-VM95E cart, which sounded ok, but I wanted something better. Soon after, I had a customer donate a Sansui table fitted with a vintage Shure V15 type III. The original HE stylus was intact, but somewhat worn, so I replaced it with the Jico SAS-B and WOW. This thing is a keeper.
I was given a 1219 with original Shure cartridge. All I had to do was some regreasing, replace the Steuerpimpel and stylus and it works perfect. I also have a Audio-Technica AT-LP120 which I took out the pre-amp (czcams.com/video/zvhlDhEH4FQ/video.html) earlier make filter issue, and am using a NAGAOKA MP-110 with a iFi Zen Phono Pre-Amp. Although the upgrades to the LP120 made it sound 100 percent better, The Dual 1219 has superior sound at all freqs, especially the bass. The internal mechanics are pure genius. I am playing it through a Sansui G-5000. The right Vintage equipment it the way to go.
I'm confused. You know a lot about the turntable and go to the trouble to make the video, but you lack a receiver or integrated amplifier. These are plentiful items in thrift stores for cheap. What gives?

I did get one shortly after this and did more videos on the Dual.
@@Recordology awesome!!! keep them vintage audio videos alive
A Shure m91 cart would sound 100% better than that grado. Sorry styli snobs. But mo money doesn’t translate to better sound.
I agree.
