Such an underrated place to be. A guy who is really good at tip-ins is so important and with Willy, he scores as much or more with stick work and puck control as he does with tip-ins.

And to think some so called "experts" on social media strongly suggested the Leafs trade Nylander for Justin Faulk 1-for-1 lol.
I wish the "must trade Nylander" nonsense would just go away already. Trading a young 30++ goal scorer for almost any d-man in the league is a recipe for future embarrassment.
The guy could quite possibly score 40 goals in the near future, and is signed long term for less than $7 million. That's as close to untouchable as it gets.
As a leafs fan I 100% agree with you, the only way we can improve our defense without sacrificing a big piece from the forwards would be to trade Johnsson or Kerfoot. Cuz it looks like Robertson can replace either of them as a speedy 3rd line scorer/playmaker, and Barabanov might make the roster too. I also remember hearing Nylander rumours before he signed his contract, I remember hearing Nylander for Pietrangelo or Pesce. Imagine if we got Pietrangelo back then, it would be sick but there goes another 10mil+ in extension dollars lmao.
