Personally I prefer the twill versions ( mu, padded te etc ) of the goose down jackets just because I’m less scared that I’m going to snag and edge and rip the nylon, they’re definitely both good materials with their own benefits though

To juxtapose the idea that you never see black in nature; that may be the point to some people. They are standing out against the natural order of things and setting themselves apart as unique, even in the eyes of nature.

Just wear them you'll feel better for it. My brother reps Acronym in a small town and took a while to be comfortable but now he loves it.
