- Berlin is way more then just a party hotspot. There are lots of historic buildings to see when you visit the German capital. DW reporter Hannah Hummel shows you three of her favorite castles in Berlin. And the best thing is, you can visit all of them in just one day! Hannah takes you from the Mediterranean-style Glienicke Palace to the royal baroque Charlottenburg Palace and on to the remote Grunewald Hunting Lodge Palace.

I visited Berlin several times. I even got to take a shopping trip to East Berlin before the wall came down. I have never forgotten that trip in 86.
I never knew that such a busy city like Berlin had such beautiful tranquil places. Thank you DW for this beautiful travel video ♥
It's got a lot to offer on all counts really.
That bird (duck?) skipping on the water during the closing shot had really great timing 😅 not a lot of things in the background could distract from Hannah in her shots, but that one certainly did!

Berlin has so much to offer the visitor. So many museums and some great green spaces too.
May I ask, when was this filmed? I found it a bit weird that the palace guide mentioned Berlin Palace, its destruction and the GDR Palace of the Republic, but then completely brushed over it being rebuilt for a couple of years now, which is kind of a big deal and worthy of mention. Unless of course this video is several years old and the new Berlin Palace/Humboldt Forum was still in construction. ;)
It's not really a palace anymore though. It's just a museum built on the place where the palace stood. And they replicated the main facade.

My personal favourite is the cute presenter.
The most important in Berlin Region is sanssouci palace. You can not split Berlin & Brandenburg in this matter - only politicians can like they split Berlin & Brandenburg 100 years ago for power.

Strange selection. I think Babelsberg Castle and Belvedere Pfingstberg are more beautiful castles in Berlin/Potsdam
