Regardless of pedal, it’s all about that Heartbreaker in my opinion. That beauty is pure 🔥🔥🔥. Great review, still not my favorite Walrus pedal (though still better than the previous iteration) and you made frequency sculpting worth watching, so a big 👏👏👏 to you. Love ya man!!

I can’t get over how they made an extra wide pedal (for almost no reason) and put side mounted jacks on it. Where am I supposed to put this on the pedalboard???

This pedal, with the Sky King and this beautiful purple Macmull is a killer combination, something like MXR Carbon copy before the amp and wow! (@_@)
I have never heard guitars with humbuckers sound like this it's like fatter noiseless p90's or smth, it's this one and the Friedman tele.
This is the kind of pedal that most guys overlook and don't really understand- it doesn't have enough sex appeal to justify the cost to most guys. That said- you buy a few pedals like this- always on, subtle, tone shaping pedals- and the next thing you know your rig sounds better and is more versatile than you ever dreamed possible. This pedal allows you 4 presets really- because you can have one setup in the live mode, then click over to your 3 presets. That's really all you need for a live performance- all I would ever need anyway. That's one "telephone tone" setting, one mid scooped setting, one mid humped setting, and 1 full, balanced setting for general tones. I did get mine on a deal though- 125 bucks. Not sure I would give 200$ for it, which is what it runs new.
Where would you run the pedal in the chain? Should you shape your guitar tone before it goes into the drive- letting the drive and preamp on your amp add whatever flavors they add- or in the fx loop so you can shape the signal right before it hits the power amp? Imo it's better before the drives because it's something you're going to be changing on the fly- and maybe a more traditional 10 band eq for the fx loop that you set and forget. That's my setup anyway- and it seems to give me the most control over my final tone that I've ever had- with great power comes great responsibility- and hopefully, a lollipop- cause that's how we roll.
I like those Ernie Ball Pizza guitars, so well made..White on white.
triple preset eq for 3 times the eq and with the internal adjustment for dialing in "your" tone even if you aren't the president of the galaxy.

@@julianhyde1645 You're a little late now but- if you had of sent in your Defcon 4 they would've upgraded the circuit and sent it back for 30 bucks. They did it for a friend of mine.
But can you use it as a standalone preamp and put it into an power Amp?
