- The shock absorber of the YAMAHA YZF 750 was looking bad but it was still working and the budget is tight so I did not restore the internals. Only a cosmetic cleanup.

I've seen a few people overhauling rear shocks and that's still one thing that will always be a hard pass for me. Thanks for another great video.
This shock still has some damping force so I did not open it. The refilling with nitrogen is mainly what holds me up. I think I am going to look for a spare shock that I can fully reservice. Looks like a fun job to do. The FZ on is like your FZR 1000 I think. It does not have an external bottle. I don't think these can be refurbished. Cheers.
For the damage to the shaft, you could maybe try the trick used on forks sometimes. Clean thoroughly, and fill the dents with Araldite (full strength long cure stuff, not the rapid stuff), then sand down smooth.
The seals should rarely reach the damaged area, and if they do this should prevent them being damaged.
Good idea... I indeed think the seal will not reach that part on the shaft. There is that thick washer over it. I have never tried such repairs on forks. Thanks for the tip!
@@jh-tech5546 It was a cheap fix that wasn't that uncommon with people trying to keep bikes running on a minimal budget.
Вы, случайно, не забыли поставить отбойник/буфер на шток аммортизатора?
А так, отличная работа👍.
Thank you. Yes for a short moment. I don't think there is one on from the factory so I left it like that. But I think in case this shock absorber doesn't work well in the future it should be replaced.
