First time hearing this band for me!! I’m not big into the Japanese metal scene like most people here, but thankfully the SGBC family is teaching me what I didn’t know!! I like bands with eclectic musical composition so I really liked these guys. THANKS BREWTALITY AND SGBC FAMILY for introducing me to this music!! This is why you SUBSCRIBE TO THIS CHANNEL!!! 🔥 🔥 🔥
If you haven't seen it yet, I highly recommend Vinushka by Dir En Grey. Specifically the live version from ANDROGYNOUS.

Whoo! A Diru track binge? Yes please! Have been my favorite band upon discovering them and I doubt any future band could ever replace them.
DIR EN GREY are a VISUAL KEI (Visual Style) band. Kinda like Korn meets the Cure.
D’ESPAIRS REY and GIRIHMESH are two other Japanese V-Kei bands with a similar sound worth checking out.

The old Diru from the early to mid 00s were perhaps Korn meets Cure, but since their album 'The Marrow of a Bone' they have evolved into something much greater.
They used to be visual kei. They said it themselves, but they stopped being visual kei once they were around in their 30s. They started addressing themselves as just J-rock ever since. But I also did hear them say later on, that they decided to take their old visual kei days back in again. Not quite sure, but I don't think they're visual kei at the moment.

This was a really nice skim through the band's massive catalogue! They've done practically every style short of country, lol, and frequently very, very proggy. I've always joked that they're the lovechild of Korn and system of a down, lol. I would Highly recommend another bowl of their live stuff, from the insanity of Vinushka to the incredible prog of dreambox, the heaviness of Decayed crow, the heartbreaking beauty of Glass Skin, and the pop-rock of Cage... This band is one of the few I'd recommend anything they've done live in the last 10-15 years.

Awesome to see your reaction to the band. I was blown away as well. Been listening to them since 2011! I have collected their live videos and their music since then. Been to a few of the concerts in the states which is rare. My bucket list would be to see them in Japan! 🤘🏼

Diru is my top 3 of bands from Japan (I only listen J-rock/J-metal). Top 1 if we talk about "metal" and I say "metal" like you saw they are different include for being Japanese.

Your reactions have all I want from a reaction so I love seing you going down the Visual Kei road. This band is my favorite one for one year now but it grows on you after a few videos. Most of the time you should react to their live performances because they are the charisma that make them what they are. The songs are crazy too but you can enjoy the songs a lot more after a great live version ^^

Thank you for the tip. Honestly, I prefer live versions of videos, but there are times you need to see the video to fully take in the art inside the music. We will definitely check them out live!

@@brewtalityfilmsllc4871 Short answer after I revisited this video for the second time: I totally agree with the point that MV's show most of the time the full art of the song but in my opinion it is the opposite for dir en grey. If they show 100% in their MV's it is 130% in lives hahah. Make sure to pick the right ones tho 😁🤘
