I hope his voice actor, Tom Kane, is able to fully recover and get back into voice acting some day. Such a talented voice.
In COD mobile there was an event involving the crew and instead of replacing Takeo's voice actor they didn't give him any lines, which is kinda nice of them, though it would be difficult to find an actor that can approach Takeo's original voice.

@@Drboss-jt8bs Tom Kane had a stroke in 2020, which left the part of his brain handling speech impaired. His daughter has come out and openly said he won't be going back to voice acting, as even two years later he has incredible difficulty speaking and communicating in general. Its sad, but he's luckily got a very supportive and caring family who are helping him with his new normal
@@calebsatterfield1935 And the amount of love his fans sent his way is also good. He truly has done an amazing work with this franchise. I'm just glad he's still alive. If we lost him, it would just be another horrible thing for 2020.

Actually, he says in Bo3. He actually says it more because it's triggered by getting surrounded by zombies. Except in Bo1 "surrounded" voice lines only trigger in co-op

Takeo is most likely referring to the Villar Perosa, an Italian Machine gun used during World War 1, it was originally used for aircraft, but it was also used in an infantry role. Although the term Submachine gun didn't exist during that era (Unless you count Maschinen Pistole = Machine Pistol.), the VP is nowadays considered an early SMG, due to it using pistol caliber ammunition. The weapon held two 25 round stick magazines, and had a ludicrous rate of fire, which was necessary for quickly damaging enemy planes, which were mostly made out of wood at the time.

Yeah i'd take any actual character over just nothing even if they aren't as good as those who came before. ala Chaos Crew, IW Crew etc Might not be as good as Primis and Ultimis but are leagues better than the generic Operator lines in CW

I don't want them to recast Tom Kane. That's the equivalent of saying "you're all expendable, and we can simply replace you"; which is fucking scummy.
Either let Aether die with dignity like it did before, or make it so that Richtofen and Samantha are the only two we'll be with throughout the journey.
Perhaps Sam/Eddie could do a monologue about how when the Cold War began, they went to find their "old friends" in hopes of getting their help. But when they saw Tank, Nikolai and Takeo all had the lives they wanted; they were left in peace. Takeo got to see his children playing together. Nikolai got to return home to his beloved. And Dempsey went on to teach and train the future generations.

Takeo was always funny, he was just undermined by Nikolai Dempsey and Richtofen who are a funnier. Takeo 2.0 is probably my favourite out of the four Primis characters

I feel it would probably be more work to implement a system where they call out the other team members specifically which is why they likely haven't done that, sadly

from "being above cliche" on bo1 moon to the exact opposite on bo4 classified... my, how the mighty have fallen.
Why is it when your playing takeo solo, it feels like he’s talking to himself like he doesn’t want to believe he’s lame and tries to impress everyone even though he’s the only one there?
Many times Ultimus Takeo actually made me laugh out loud, especially his self aware humor and many of his lines in Alpha Omega. He did it more often than Ultimus Richtofen made me laugh.
The reason Takeo's character didn't shine early on was because the others had much more comical stereotypes. Takeo was basically just a generic Imperial Japanese soldier. Dempsey is basically every stereotype of a US Marine amped up to 10. Nikolai is an alcoholic, dysfunctional, but badass Russian Soviet. And Richtofen is your crazy Nazi scientist caricature.
Meanwhile, Takeo was basically just the most generic Imperial Japanese soldier imaginable since most of his OG lines were just "muh emperor and honor."
As an adult I’ve grown to appreciate and love tak lots he’s awesome

To me Takeo becomes more interesting the longer you get to know him. I think at first he is the stoic one to contrast the others, but after going through hell and back with the others they start to rub off on him.
