I can use the subharmonic technique and I can do A0 in chest using this technique, even though I am not a dude, but I have no idea how to make it sound so robotic, and I cannot do any lip sounds… How does one get that robotic sound? David Larson what exactly are the mechanics behind what we beatboxers call vibration bass? It’s not chest bass (what you call the “growl”), or throat bass (kargyraa of throat singing, you say that it’s caused by the false vocal chords or vestibular folds, and I say it comes from the arryetnoid cartilage). What causes it? And btw, there is a type of inward bass that does NOT use the vocal folds. It’s basically the ingressive version of chest bass (what you call the “growl”) and there’s Audical favored variation that is the “high vocalized” inward bass, basically ingressive falsetto plus the regular inward bass mentioned before. YOUR “inward bass” or ingressive phonation, is actually not our inward bass, we call this inwards vocal fry, frog bass, or Ive heard that vocal fry is also called “strohbass” in the study of vocal techniques and anatomy. So I would also call inward vocal fry “inward strohbass”, which is a lot LESS “acid-y”, bubbly, and subwoofer-y than the rattley,, “robotic” inward strohbass that you use and beatboxers napom and dandry use this too

Audicals "singing" part isn't full on karygura (throat bass), it's only false cords - Another similar beatboxer is Inertia (I'd recommend his high middle low track on youtube).
The bass used by MTS that you referenced as the "2nd subharmonic" is called vibration bass by beatboxers.
D-low's inward bass uses a glottal stop over the inward bass to give it that sound. It's still inward bass but.... different?
I'd recommend the following beatboxers if you wanna do this again: Codfish (nothing crazy, beautiful utilization of throat bass), Show-go (he does some crazy "double voice" techniques), PWAD (beautiful "vocal bass" - different from throat bass), Inertia (afore mentioned).

Do more of these! I love to hear a vocal performer outside of beatboxing commenting on how they hear the bass and their interpretations of how they do it. You should do a reaction of inertia if you like inward bass, he’s on d-low and Audicals level. Or if you want more structured musical stuff loopstation battles are always awesome!
