Very cool engine, but I have to laugh at the generous use of red Loc-Tite. All Harley engines should be assembled that way so they don't just shake themselves apart again.

Someone should make a tungsten sharpener that worked using a cone with diamond sintered to the inside that was battery powered and roughly the size of a tube of tooth-paste, or like the size of a electric screwdriver. Having a sharpener like this would let you sharpen the tungsten without fully removing it from the torch, just loosen the back cap and pull it out a little bit and re-tighten the cap to hold the tungsten out. It could have quick change sharpening cones for different angles, and it could have some diamond around the outside of the cone too for removing bulk material like if you dipped it badly, then you just finish the grind with the cone. you could be welding and do a touch up of your tungsten with one hand, one holds the torch and the other holds the sharpener. Since you dont have to remove the tungsten, you dont have to wait for it to cool or risk burning you r nice tig welding gloves :)huh

That crankshaft must have some mass to it! I guess with that engine the weight must be needed to smooth out the firing impulses or help with vibration and counter balance from all the reciprocating mass being on the same side of the crank, not good primary balance like on a inline twin.

Hi David Do you know if practicing subharmonic singing and firebreathing could add frequencies to your singing voice and enhance its timbre? Is it possible to add subharmonies to singing to make the voice sound beefier heavier? Asking in context of metal of course 😂 Best regards

I perform ingressive phonation for metal vocals and animal imitation and I find that by pulling air in, especially when you open your throat, it creates a different kind of "chambering" that you just can't achieve with the reverse. It's also interesting that with ingressive phonation you can get higher in your register than you normally might be able to which is great for wolf howls for example or goblin fry scream because you are constricting air flow. Actually we make a lot more noises ingressively than people might think. The reason breathing out after each ingressive segment is important is because unlike singing with breathing out, when you hold your breath carbon dioxide builds up in the bloodstream and crosses the blood-brain barrier which can lead to hypoxia. You really don't want to give yourself hypoxia and pass out. You can build up tolerances over time to the way your body responds to holding your breath. I can hold an ingressive guttural or growl for thirty seconds with no ill effects. The reason ingressives are safer than exhale singing is because to make sound and depth of sound and volume of sound, we aren't pushing air and that's where most people, especially with metal vocals, who do it wrong blow out their vocal chords. That's not hyperbole, they literally build pressure wrong and the air used incorrectly blows the vocal chords. You don't have that concern with ingressives. You also aren't using your "true folds" with ingressives, which is another place that people trying to do low singing or harsh vocals can run into danger of damaging your instrument. If you tilt your chin down slightly as you do your ingressive, you actually open up more chambered space. While you may not like that "gravelly" sound, ingressive fry is actually a great tool for getting lower in your register. Tongue position can also create another type of chamber that will almost allow you to "cheat" your way into the lowest parts of your register. You will inevitably hit the gravel because that's how you generate bass, it's just the oscillation of the gravel being faster or slower that makes it sound smooth or more like fry. Awesome video though. As you said, I don't actually know many singers, even in metal vocals, who use ingressives. I have my suspicions about one singer, because his sound is so much like mine and I don't think you can get that guttural depth with externals.

The body, the cells have frequency of their own. When cells are out of balance, in a different frequency - can you bring them back to balance by using your voice to make their frequency and match that frequency? Can you make your hand vibrate or finger? To test this out. Thank you!

After seeing this 4 years ago, I started doing this everyday. Like every single day, at the toilet, around poeple everyhwere. Well, after four years, it´s became such a part of me, that I snore insanely loud at night, since I learnt how to relax those muscles, and I do it accidentally during meetings and stuff, which is not really ideal. But I love it, since not many people can do this XD

Nice to see one of these engines apart. It would be interesting to map the cams to see what kind of lift, duration & overlap they ran. BTW, note that the hollow camshafts have some timed breather slots in them as well... for additional crankcase pressure relief. Good video!
