Thank you for this recipe. You touched on two things I've wanted to know....
First how to make my own wafers cause store brands - unfortunately even NILLA wafers - are tasteless now.
Second, how to make real banana pudding over banana flavored pudding. I have a really good brand that offers banana flavor - but, I'm not making candy or frosting. This recipe hit the spot!!!

Pudding never has eggs, custard does. I put sliced bananas into my vanilla pudding, which makes it taste completely of banana as it sits. I may try making these nilla wafers, though. I can't get them easily here, and haven't had this dessert in almost 2 decades because of the lack of wafer.
