Banana Pudding (from Scratch) | Fail proof recipe

- 1 cup sugar
2/3 cup flour
4 whole eggs (for thinner pudding use yolks only)
4 cups milk
2 tsp vanilla extract
1/8 tsp (or a dash) salt
Bananas
Nilla wafers
Whipped Topping
1 Cup heavy cream (must be very cold)
5 1/2 Tbsp Powdered Sugar
1 1/2 tsp cornstarch
1 tsp vanilla
pinch salt
I use whole eggs in my pudding to get a nice fluffy pudding texture (similar to the texture of instant pudding), if you want your pudding thinner just use egg yolks only

Back in the day I used to make the custard and hide it in the fridge so my family wouldn't see it.🤫 I've gotten better at sharing over the years, but I low key wish they didn't like banana pudding so I could have it all to myself hehehe 😁

I go really old school, I use egg whites as the topping and throw it in the oven to brown just the tips of the egg whites then refrigerate.

The crazy thing, I just made this a couple days ago, didn't have any milk, used hemp seeds, cashews, a few dates, vanilla extract and arrowroot powder for thickening. Love your channel 🙏🏾

You can also use orange juice instead of Lemon juice to prevent oxidation of the bananas

My family used to make the custard from scratch but sometimes we go the cheat way. Instant pudding, banana flavor, or vanilla sometimes.
I've never been a big fan of the instant pudding. I once had some at a restaurant, didn't like it.
This is pretty much similiar how i make my banana pudding. 🙂
You can also put lemon juice on the bananas so that they won't turn. An ex coworker used to do this along with adding the whipped cream and put cherries on top. The cherries in the jar.
