    In the 2nd Stage of our GT500 Bolt-On Build-Up, we installed:
    Gates 10-Rib Serpentine Belt - 85-7/8 in. (07-14 GT500) - www.americanmuscle.com/gates-s...
    Innovators West 10% Overdrive Harmonic Balancer Pulley (07-14 GT500) - www.americanmuscle.com/overdri...
    Metco Motorsports Auxiliary Idler Pulley Kit - Double Bearing (07-14 GT500) - www.americanmuscle.com/metco-9...
    NGK V-Power Spark Plugs - Heat Range 6 (03-04 Cobra; 07-14 GT500) - www.americanmuscle.com/ngk-spa...
    In the second stage of our 2013 and 2014 Shelby GT500 Ford Mustang build we wanted to add a little more boost to help put the power down. We did so by adding the Innovators West 10% Overdrive Harmonic Balancer Pulley along with Metco Motorsports Auxiliary Idler Pulley Kit. Lastly was the addition of NGK's V-Power Spark Plugs which helped to produce 657 horsepower and 696 pound feet of torque, giving us 34 horsepower and 41 pound feet of torque throughout the curve!

    You guys should add a build simulator to your website so you can see what multiple mods look like and how much hp/tq they increase

    For the next build, you guys should do an 03-04 Cobra Terminator! That would be so sick! The Terminator is one of the coolest Mustangs/Cars ever.

    You guys should do more part reviews for the Foxbody mustang. It would be nice to have some good audio on exhausts and part reviews on shifters and stuff. Some bolt on build up foxes would be nice too :)

    I just bought the ngk tr7ix spark plugs for my 2013. It that good. I think I have the original ones still in the car. Gonna gap them to 30
    I already have and sct tune , and jlt cold air and vmp 67mm throttle body.

    @Naif. Z He didn't really say power drop. He said that it could be to much for the blower. Meaning spinning to fast leading to damage

    Justin,
    Do you have a video on how to port the blower? If not can you guide me on how to do it.? Cuz I really want to add the balancer pulley since I already swapped the upper pulley.

    quick question? could you do both pulleys just tune to only put out 3-4 more pounds of boost ... wouldn't that be better

    What threw me was if you add a larger lower pulley , then why need the double bearing auxillary idler pulley, seems you'd need a larger belt? or you'll turn the stock one to shreads

    I guess I would have expected more results from the pulley swap. I can definitely see where the throttle body and down pipes could be holding back better numbers.

    I really don't know much about boost, but he said that you will lose the power if you use a smaller pully and overdrive balancer at the same time.
    In previous power back episode with 10-12 gt500s he used a 2.6 pully and 10% overdrive balancer at the same time with the 5.4.
    I really want to know does the power drop if you use smaller pully and the balancer at the same time only with the 5.8 or with pretty much everything?

      Because it makes the supercharger run hotter and makes it less efficient and therefore making less power.

      Hey Naif- IceeyHDgaming basically summed up what I was saying in a nutshell. The reason you saw us doing it with the previous Shelby's (07-12) is because they utilize a different blower (Eaton M122) with different 'efficiency ratings' that allow for the smaller upper and larger overdrive balancer to be used with pump gas with no ill effects, minus a little added heat. The '13 & '14 Shelby's use the TVS blower which is a much more capable blower right out of the box and is already spinning pretty good on a factory car- so therefore it doesn't take much to put it past its efficiency window.
      Some folks have done both (upper & lower), but if you are primarily using pump gas and don't plan on porting the blower I wouldn't recommend it. As you'll see with the next stage- you don't really need both with these cars. ;) -Justin

      AmericanMuscle.com how do you find this efficiency rating? and how do you determine if a certain supercharger will make more power with both upper and lower pulleys?

      Xgamer121X It's really just upgrading your cooling and fuel systems to make the efficiency rating go back up to the optimum place. the hotter your turbo the hotter the gas which if it gets to hot you'll start boiling the gas and making it evaporate and making your boost higher but less powerful.

    Throttle body and exhaust should have been Stage 2, and pulley/spark plug swap should have been Stage 3.

      Believe it or not, the stock exhaust on the '13 & '14 Shelby's flows extremely well- the bigger problem is the factory throttle body. Nevertheless, be on the lookout for that to change in the next stage. :) -Justin

    Before doing any of this, the brakes on this car are criminal. The weeny 4 piston front/2 piston rear calipers have to go. The chassis on this car is woefully inadequate as well.

      11-12 had the 4 piston. 13-14 GT500 has 6 piston big brems in the front.
