    We had a trade-in DIB ‘14 that was originally bought at our dealer that was special ordered without the over the top stripes but with the side stripes. Had the factory production line slip and certificate with the car. Was a black stripe/DIB car on the window sticker. Great video btw, I follow you on IG car is still looking great!

    Not a fan of gray cars, this color combo is an exception. The gray with the blue stripes on these GT500’s is just beautiful. I also prefer the base wheels. I need a set for my 2014 GT. I will probably buy some replicas from LMR , but the finish is not correct. Really, really nice car sir!

      My only concerns with the crazy low mileage GT500s is the tires, they're probably shot from sitting for so long, if you do end up buying one with crazy low mileage make sure you get a fresh oil change and make sure you get up to date tires.

    When I picked up my '14 GT Track Pack summer of 2013, Sterling Fordn Vai had Four GT 500's lined up, ready to go. Cheapest one was $53K. Track Pack GT has an air pump spare tire! So that's basically a stroker (5.8L) Coyote. Does it have the TIVCVVT variable valve timing? Started as the Modular DOHC like the Navigator, Correct? How close to the Coyote block is it? Is it still available?

      @GT500guy  Před 8 měsíci

      @markhall3434 The coyote engines are completely different from the old-school modular 5.4 and 5.8s. The 5.8s do not have CVVT and does not share any parts from the coyote based engine's. 5.2 Predator Engine in the new GT500 is based on the coyote engine.
      The 07 to 14 GT500s 5.4 and 5.8 is basically the same engine from the 2000 cobra R or the 05/06 Ford GT super car.

      Since yours is a SS you the 3.6Kb I'm assuming, I believe Shelby America changes the intercooler lines so it's different from a stock 13/14. If you have the car running and up to temperature, open up the cap for the intercooler tank, the water should be moving through the tank. If it's not the one way to test the pump is to jump the intercooler pump relay. I'll attach a link to SVTP and it has a diagram on how to do it. I'll probably do another video on how to test it.

    Great info. I spent 8 months seeking out the right one and finally found a stock ‘14 with 2,900 miles. The biggest stumbling block on many potential GT500’s became undisclosed mods in ads that once discovered - dealers had no answers on what exactly was done or info on the tune. Your color combination looks great - it’s exactly what I had on my GT350. Just curious, what tires are you running? Mine still has the original Goodyear tires which in a twisted way are fun - but I’m looking for better hookup. I’ve always liked the R888’s but the fronts don’t come in a matching size ... so not sure what I’m doing just yet.

The R888R is the best tire I've ever ran on a GT500, it handles amazing and sticks like glue, if you want to run a set on the stock rear wheels I'd go with the 305/35R20s.

    Hey Steve, I'm in the market for a 13/14, but have been told by others that the 11/12 is the way to go for reliability. Can you address that for me? I was also told that you should consider mileage doubled when buying a used GT500. Would you agree with this? What is the maximum mileage I should consider? Not a whole lot of money available for this purchase and I want to make sure I make the right one. Thanks in advance. Great car!

    • @GT500guy
      @GT500guy  Před 3 lety +5

      People who think the 11/12s are more reliable than the 13/14s are misinformed. The 13/14 transmission is stronger, the rear end is stronger, the fuel system is better, the suspension is better the cooling system is better and list goes on and on. The engine isn't any stronger than the 11/12s. But the 5.8 has 9.1 compression vs the 5.4 has 8.4 compression, so running good octane is very important, especially when adding power. The connecting rods are the same in all 07 to 14 GT500s except the 13/14 rods are modified to fit the factory Manley pistons. I wouldn't say I'd consider mileage doubled when purchasing a GT500, most are very well taken care of. But I would try and stay under 25k miles when buying one. You're going to spend 45k+ for a clean 13/14, you will save money when buying a 11/12, but you're behind the 8 ball and will have to spend 5k or more to get the same stock power as a 13/14. The most important thing is checking carfax, see how many owners it's had, try and check service history, if the car is modified make sure you get a detailed list of the modifications and get the hand held tuner with it. I wouldn't recommend buying a modified GT500 from a dealership. Hopefully this answers some of your questions. If you have any others just ask.

Most guys that have blower swapped their GT500 have beat on it.
