There was a video on FTD of him talking about how good of a manager pep is; also the first team pep managed was the relegated Barcelona B team; which was promoted the next season. look it up if you want but don't accuse me of being a liar when you can't take 2 minutes to look up information.

    Two great managers, and both suited perfectly for each club. We'd not swap Guardiola for anyone though - a man who will reinvigorate this club from head to toe, a man who will leave his stamp on style for years to come and a man that will remain classy at all times regardless of the outcome. Pep is a football genius. There are questions about him, like there is for every manager, but to deny his brilliance in the face of such obvious evidence is just sheer stupidity.
    Roll on the new season.

    • @Rogarcai
      @Rogarcai Před 7 lety +1

      As a neutral, I would have thought I'd be the other way around, Pep at United and Mourinho at City, but then again City has a lot of the board room staff that Guardiola had when he managed Barcelona like Ferran Soriano and Txiki Beguiristain so I guess it makes sense to work with people you know and trust. Apparently they tried to get his signature before he even went to Munich.

    • @Rogarcai
      @Rogarcai Před 7 lety +2

      Plus, I think the Sheik actually wants City to do well and doesn't treat this as a business like the owners of Manchester United and Arsenal, as much as it pains me to admit it because their inflation of the market, along with the likes of PSG, paying north of 40 million euro for barely above average players like Mangala, David Luiz, etc. How is Troy Deeny (TROY DEENEY) worth $30 million? That sort of money was reserved for Ballon D'or winners not too long ago.

    • @jackcrick1203
      @jackcrick1203 Před 7 lety +1

      Not aimed at howson by any chance? I hate United, but even I can admit that they have had a good transfer window to my United mates, I just think they're worried about us being successful

    • @Rogarcai
      @Rogarcai Před 7 lety

      I don't know what you mean mate. I was just saying that given United's history of success in terms of titles, they have won the most English top flight titles after all, plus the allure of following in the footsteps of such a legendary manager I would have though Pep would have preferred United. Of course like I said before the fact that a lof of the Citizen backroom staff are comprised of former Barcelona players/board members helped a great deal.
      They've indeed done their transfer business but I would argue that ever since the Glazer's took over, sports has taken a backseat. They had been living off Fergie for a while but after he retired the people in charge didn't really know what to do in terms of sporting direction. The situation is not as dire as Arsenal's case where the management seems content to just make it to the Champions league every year, though. The owners of City, on the other hand, so genuinely want to see the club do better, and not just treat it as a company who's primary goal is profit and not success on the pitch. I was making a comparison as to how the two Manchester clubs are run, at least in the last 8/10 years or so.

    • @tawfiqjamal1520
      @tawfiqjamal1520 Před 7 lety

      Both great managers. Disagree that Pep has stayed classy regardless of outcome - re: his public sarcastic clapping in front of 72-year old Bayern doctor/physio, apparently making him resign. City is his first real challenge, I assume he'll do well, but I've always considered Mou, who's also no saint, as superior. For me his career has been more impressive when you consider the team's he's managed.

      Ak123 Bayern had an amazing squad before he went there. They'd just won the treble. Barca had an amazing squad before he went there also. Fact of the matter is, Bayern and Barca will win trophies before and after Pep. Chelsea, Porto and Inter however haven't or didn't. We are not here to judge a manager on what he leaves but what he does.

    • @archlefirth2279
      @archlefirth2279 Před 7 lety +1

      the team that "bottled it" was United. City 6-1 in 2011 with the BPL won. Also who cares if you have a small mentality? Thats what makes City so lovable and passionate...we don't need silverware to define us...we struggled through the 3rd and 2nd divison to the Prem and that fighting mentality is and will always be there. That's what made us win the title (City-QPR 3-2). United always act entitled and only expect trophies otherwise their fans jump ship. Hell, United were only loved because of that success. Before Ferguson they were nothing. Even the United guy said fans were delusional the last three trophyless years. And whats with all of United's love for Jose all of a sudden? They fucking hated him when he was at Chelsea.

    United initially put Manchester in the map. They have always been the dominant and household club in Manchester. Historically they've been more successful and they have more legendary icons from United than City, with the likes of George Best, Cantona, Giggs, who were the face of Manchester. United is also the older club and while city has recently become a powerhouse, fundamentally Manchester United will always be the club for Manchester. Like Arsenal for London. Like Real for Madrid.

      That guy is a disgrace. Pep didn't quit Barcelona because of Mourinho. There were many reasons why he quit but Mourinho wasn't at the top. Believe it or not one of the reasons he decided to leave Barcelona was because he kept winning so much (against Mourinho and everyone for that matter) and didn't know if he could motivate his players anymore. He also needed a change of scenery to learn a new footballing culture. Then there were the inner club politics at Barcelona, Rossell, the previous president before the current one, Bartomeu, was feuding with Laporta and accused him of stealing money for the club. Laporta was also the man who gave Guardiola his opportunity, both with Barcelona B and then with the first team so he didn't appreciate Sandro Rossell sueing the man who gave him that.

We don't hate United, we hate fans like Howson, up his own arse. I know loads of United fans, but he takes the cake for being the bloody worst. Like we did the the Pep presentation to get to know him and his thoughts, to be introduced with respect and he thinks it's a celebration. No it's called being respectful, he's done a lot and we know that, so we treat him with respect, welcome him and ask questions on what he plans to do. I genuinely don't care if it's a 'small club mentality' because we've been through rough times, United have come 7th and called it a disaster, I'm grateful for how my club has developed and where it's going.

    Pep may have coached one of the greatest teams of all time, but i don't think that makes him one of the greatest of all time. He's had everything given to him, in leagues where he honestly shouldn't struggle at all. If he succeeds in England, i'd have no problem admitting he is a great, but right now, i can only see him as the guy who won everything at Barcelona. He did the bare minimum in terms of success at Bayern, and while his football always looks beautiful, he doesn't guarantee success. Mourinho doesn't either, but he's done a lot more around the continent then Pep. He hasn't managed a team going through a golden era like that Barcelona team, and he has succeeded in the Premier League. For me, unless Pep dominates England in the next few years, Jose Mourinho is by far a superior manager.

    Right, I've just watched an argument between Liverpool and Manchester United fans about who has a better identity, and it made me laugh.
    A Liverpool fan brought up The Beatles, while a Manchester United fan brought up Oasis and The Stone Roses.
    No offence guys, but when it comes to fans and music, you both lose to Everton and Manchester City.
    I mean, both McCartney and Lennon are identified with Everton, while Manchester City are supported by Oasis and Johnny Marr (yes, I'm fully aware that Morrissey and three of the Stone Roses support United).
    I mean, Liverpool and United might have the titles, but Everton and Manchester City are the cool clubs.
    P.S. I support neither of the clubs mentioned, therefore, my opinion is neutral and not biased.

    How Manchester became the centre of world football;
    Manchester United became the dominant force in the premier league, they acheived football success and global commercial success. They hired and stuck with the greatest manager the UK has ever produced even with him winning nothing in his first few years.They raised a class of youngsters that went on to dominate and became the first English footballing club to win the Premier League, Champions League and FA Cup all in one year. They produced the likes of David Beckham who on his own has also become a household name mainly by association with the club. They then continued to win more trophys and overtake the previous dominant team Liverpool's league winners record. They've had a bad few seasons with managers who've not done well now but have re-invested a small ammount of their vast EARNED fortune back into the club and look very much like getting themselves back on track.
    Then.
