For almost an hour i was laying at the feet of an enormous tree, in Lorien or Rivendel, feeling the most peaceful feeling in the world, there was nothing to think, but all to feel...
This is beautiful. I couldn't agree more.
I wish I lived in a world like this...

But....you do....you already live in such a world....everything else is a fake.....just remember that !
Tell me about it 🤣🤣🤣
@@john03091996 We are all Elves
The Songs of Heaven.
If I imagine Angels singing and looking like anything, they would be Elvish.
+Catholon el Bridget Interesting you'd say that. That's exactly what Tolkien would want you to think! The elves are supposed to symbolize angelic beings. All his writings flow from his deep Catholic devotion and serve as loose allegories to the Life of Christ and the Catholic faith.
+The Stone Arrow (TSA) Hmm maybe I'm wrong. Where did you read that? There is no disputing the fact that Tolkien was a devout Catholic, but if you could explain more about the allegory aspect that would be appreciated.
+The Stone Arrow (TSA) There are actually many references to Catholic thought. He just didn't like hitting the reader over the head with it like CS Lewis does. For example the hymn Gilthoniel A Elbereth is reminiscent of the hymn Ave Maris Stella.
In a letter he sent to a friend of his, Tolkien spoke of his saga as a deeply catholic novel. Nevertheless, his novel can be read without the catholic background of its author.
Even Valars aren`t god :) Only Eru :)
I listened to this while I was strolling through the woods on my own today... sunlight peeking between the trees, glistening icicles, two birds chirping, a hawk gliding overhead, the last of winter's cool and refreshing breeze, the smell of bark and melting snow... what a glorious walk it was with this music in the background. I feel like making this a daily thing
+Christine C You should.
I am suddenly inspired to do the same, especially since I am lucky to live in a pristine free and wild area. Thank you for the idea.

Shoutout to all who are rarely mentioned, yet equally crucial in creating this music.
To all the singers, instrument players, editing and many others I cannot recall at this moment.
I sincerely love you for bestowing us with this masterpiece.
I salute thee.
"The world has changed. I see it in the water.
I feel it in the Earth. I smell it in the air.
Much that once was is lost, For none now live who remember it."
- J. R. R. Tolkien
I LOVE that scene so much the way she says it 😍😍
Mae'r byd wedi newid.
dwi'n ei weld yn y dŵr.
dwi'n ei deimlo yn y Ddaear.
dwi'n ei arogli yn yr awyr
@Vakond Simple well elves stand metaphoracilly for elementare spirits, how Tolkien intended it to potray. They have no physical form, but Tolkien recognized them, as he recognized many other things, that are overseen, by the vast majority of people living on this earth. He knew much more, and was quite a greater man, than the most of us would expect.
I love the opening prologue, but I always found it a little funny that it says ‘For none now live who remember it’…. While Galadriel, Elrond, Celeborn, Círdan the shipwright and at least hundreads of other Elves were there, and remember….
@@stevenwood2436 What you have written here is pure Welsh! I’m going to go back and listen to her prologue again to see how it sounds. Diolch! (Thank you.)
I still can't get over Haldir's death in the movie, even though he never died in the book.
SarcasticHam Sandwich do not feel for him. Elves are immortal. When they die, their bodies decay but their souls travel to the undying lands where they live once again.
Zardas11
But they basically die permanently for every other mortal (except those that travel to the undying lands) because most elves who go to the undying lands do not ever come back. Glorfindel being, uh, the 1 exception I think.
they have to stay in the halls for a long time before they regain a physical form though, don't they?
Bob Op
Not true. Think of it as reincarnation, where there's an immediate manifestation of their souls. Valinor isn't a place to recover, but a literal paradise built for immortal souls(except bearers of the One Ring and Gimlee, of course). Past wounds are irrelevant in this case. A good example of this is when Gandalf the Grey died and his soul went to Valinor, he was sent back practically immediately by Eru as Gandalf the White.
I'm probably not the best one to explain this, though.
SarcasticHam Sandwich SAME!!!
14:06 is so beautiful...

Thranduil is the most iconic elf❤️ What a Legend! What a King!
As many things as the Hobbit films messed up, you gotta admit the soundtrack fits PERFECTLY with the Lord of the Rings soundtrack and it's just as beautiful.
Cause Howard Shore rocked it
Evenstar- so sad, so beautiful, it hurts...
The elves in LOTR were in tune with nature. Instead of cutting the forests down they built they're homes in and around them. They have a lot that we can learn from.
What are their ships made from then?
“You cannot be her. She is far away. She... she is far, far away from me. She walks in starlight in another world. It was just a dream. Do you think she could have loved me?”
great moment...
Kili to tauriel
aah ae ki dasa
One of the most nonsense love stories... It's so worthless and crappy compared to Aragorn and Arwena's.
Well she did and he knew it, i dont like that part very much
For some reason I feel extremely close to the Elvish way of life... maybe a part of the universe is where these being come from and where my soul belongs.
At 44:37...The scene itself (in the movie) as they march in when all hope was thought to be lost, combined with the pride i have as a paralyzed veteran, both truly make me appreciate the music all the more. A legendary military truly fighting for peace. It's as powerful as it is elegant. ".....we have come to honor that allegiance. We are proud to fight alongside men once more.!" If that doesn't give you chills then you need to check your pulse to make sure you have one.
omg best comment ever
God bless you! Thank you for your service. I am so sorry for your sacrifice
That was one of my favorite scenes ever since I first watched the movie as a kid
Absolutely man!!!! 110%
Your comment really got to my heart.
At night when I go to bed, I build a mental story that I continue further everyday. I love to listen to this before sleeping, really great inspiration material :D
That is an excellent way to experience "Lucid Dreaming".
Every evening before bed think about what you what to dream - sooner or later you will dream it, and in mid-dream realize you are dreaming. Then, you can direct the dream to be what ever you wish. I've done it. It's a rather powerful experience.
I can't think of a better subject matter than the elves from J.R.R. Tolkien's "Lord of the Rings." Good luck!
I never get tired of hearing all the music from Lord of the Rings especially the elvish songs. They so bring me peace in a chaotic world.
Thanks to all the people who made Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit possible. Thank you Mr. Tolkien for your Imagination.
I work in childcare, and we played this for my preschool group during naptime today 😌
They're so beautiful. Like angels.
They're truly divine beings. Created by Ilúvatar for the sole purpose of being beautiful, talented, intelligent, immortal, perfect (almost) beings. Their flaws somehow make them even more perfect, as they add to their mythic history.
21:10 loving this piece for everrrr
Howard Shore is a true musical genius
Thanks for posting. My 12-year old daughter is just beginning to delve into the world of Middle Earth, what an amazing life-long adventure awaits her! Parts of Elvish singing seem.clearly based on Byzantine chant --- which seems most appropriate, given Tolkien's love of the sacramental vision of the Elves.... This is a wonderful compilation of melodies that hold so much power and pathos.
If there are still listeners, like it so we can see our number 👍👍👍
The Best One is The Woodland Realm of ElvenKing The King Of Elves King Thranduil .
You feel something special when you hear their music it’s Incredible! Their music luxury and royalty I’m speechless I can’t find the right words to fit with their amazing music.
no wonder howard shore won an oscar for this :D
love the song at 38:50. I don't know why but I find it beautiful and I also like that scene when Legolas is walking and he is holding the vase and he is talking about Gandalf. Love the Lord of the rings and the Hobbit movies. Love all 6. Shout out to the director Peter Jackson. He is a great director :)
No exist human words to describe our pain to gandalf's fall
Choral Music is aweome
Thanks to Tolkien yes
A lament for Gandalf, the words are too painful for Legolas to repeat.
It is a Lament for Mithrandir, the Elvish name for Gandalf.
What I love so much about Tolkien was his ability to capture every part of our human makeup in his creatures. We all have some elf, some dwarf, orc, and hobbit in us. Some parts are stronger in some than others. I believe the elves represent the good, steadfast, and true we have in ourselves.
I love lotr series but I would totally watch the other movie about elves only! Wow tha'd be so great and beautiful.
+peyote Is there a movie on just the elves from LOTR and Hobbit? Please share...I can't find it in this thread.
Heidi Bassett There's no movie about elves from LOTR, but I know that there's a book called Silmarillion, which i'm going to buy soon. It's been also written by Tolkien and I heard it says story about Gandalf and Elves mostly, so yeah..
+peyote
Be aware that the Silmarillion is not like lord of the rings. It is not a novel with a single story it is based over thousands of years and covers many aspects.
It is more like a history book and is an academic read more than an entertainment read. As long as you understand this you may enjoy it.
It took me 10 years to properly read it. And I have read it several times now but not in the last 5 years. There is Children of Húrin if you want to read that and it is more like a novel but is still of a different style of lord of the rings and is sort of academic in it style.
bighands69 I know, I have heard about that, but thanks :)
+peyote My son has read it a couple of times (he's 13, an avid reader, and a HUGE Tolkien fan). He has any and all Tolkien books that he knows about and has been able to get his hands on, including Children of Hurin, and has loved them all (some more than others) and keeps trying to get me to read them. I've only read LOTR and The Hobbit and keep telling him when I have time! LOL You got me excited that there might be a movie on the LOTR elves!
I'm not mad at Tauriel, i just wish they added more about Thranduil and his wife; I actually love that made the hierarchy among elves clear with the love triangle... there's so many fans out there who, otherwise, would just assume that elves are all wise and egalitarian and respectful of each other and "perfect" but the beauty of Tolkein's world, including the elves, is how realistically flawed they can be too
Anyone who has read the silmarillion knows that most elves weren't wise and egalitarian xD
@@morgothbauglir5186 Don't disrespect ma boy Feanor!
I love Elf king Thranduil !
Moon light Me too😄🖐
Mêh... His character could have been worked out better. Now he is the rotty elven king who allows nothing. Hope they will do so in the LOTR series
Of course legolas father is hot too

Alexander G. Hoffmann I’m black and I wish I saw black elves. I love the elves so much but to not see one black elf or even black persons it kinda gets to me. Don’t get me wrong I’m not the type of person to “want black this or that” Idc about the black lives matter or any other race but if I just saw a few black elves I’d be really happy
All the Arwen's themes makes me cry
yea i don't know how he does it but it really does capture the beauty of their most beloved star...
This is so much needed in these troublesome times; thank you Tolkien, Jackson, and Shore.
Elvin music is in fact healing music. Thought their words can only heal dwarves and hobbits in the movies but look at me healing over here. 💆🏻
18:38 makes me cry everytime
sad but true..
What happens at 18:38??

The elves are iconic, to say the least. In my opinion, they are the most beautiful and intriguing race in all of fiction. They are the soul of Tolkien's universe, and the main reason why I think it's so magical.
Was für eine wunderschöne, ausdrucksstarke und gefühlvolle Musik! Sie entführt mich immer wieder aufs neue in eine andere Welt. Einfach herrlich!
What beautiful, expressive and soulful music! It takes me to another world over and over again. Just lovely!
27.24 Feast of Starlight.... ahhh pure bliss
Arwen's theme..simply beautiful!
I love Lothlorien and it´s music. Especially the sublime "Lament for Gandalf" 39:03
:)
Elvish music, reminds me of Celtic and Scandinavian music.
Grand Master Ezio Auditore i am pretty sure its 'elven' music
Grand Master Ezio Auditore I assume you never heard someone talk in "scandinavian" and "celtic" languages, there are not languages with you can easily sing like english, and by the way tolkien based the elfic languages on the hebrew, the languages of the dwarfs are based on "scandanivian" languages, and the dwarfs song are i think, the most distinguishable..
Tolkien based the Elvish on Icelandic and Celtic languages.
I have heard people speak in Norwegian, Danish and Swedish thank you. Those languages like English, Dutch, and German languages are classed as Germanic respectively.
SolveByLogik Actually, he bases elvish pronunciation mostly on Finnish, Spanish and Latin, while the writing system of the elves is similar to Scandinavian. The dwarfish languages, however, are based on Hebrew.
the woodland realm music is my favorite plus thranduil is my favorite he is boss
:O this proves the KING STILL LIVES!!!!
I can listen to this all day ..
Am I the only one who sleeps to this ?? It's so relaxing ,especially when you have Insomnia like me. 💯
no you are not XD. I especially love the woodland realm´s themes ;) I listen to this Music all the time.
I listen to his before going sleeping, may help with annoying thoughts
Whilst reading the book, I cried to leave Lothlorien. A city to remember, and the fair elf lady, breathtaking. These songs added to that feeling of parting and enrapture. To live and dwell there. Tolkien is a genius.
I read the books in August 23 and oh my god, I didn't know a poem can hurt so much...the lament for Boromir is just so piercing, though I am really fond of all the songs and tales in these poems, especially Nimrodel
I love the Arwen part, I just keep repeating it nonstop.
I know Haldir doesn't die in the books, but the when he dies in the movie I always get teary-eyed.
Everytime i watch the movie..😭
This takes me right back to Rivendell. The waterfalls, the streams, the magic. No wonder Bilbo never wanted to leave.
I don't know why but I think Arwen and Tauriel have the best themes songs. Maybe because their love stories or maybe because of my own suggestion...My heart trembles.
14:07 Evenstar
My favorite song from LOTR
does anyone else's eyes get suddenly teary from 32:00 onward or is it just silly me?
isabella12300 You are not silly hon. It happened to me too!
I once read that people can find out where their soul is from by what their emotions tell them.. I feel the Elves are from a different part of the universe and our souls have chosen to come here to this Earth to help raise her positive vibrations so she can change into her next stage of existence (4th density, 5th dimensions)
I
My eyes get teary at random parts sometimes throughout the whole thing
you cannot find a better race or warrior than the elf
This makes me bathe in the magnificence of King Thranduil
I kno right 😍
i hate him....im in love with legolas
I hate Thranduil, when you compare him with the likes of Galadriel, Elrond, Thingol or Fingolf he is nothing.
If he and his Woodland elves didn´t stop the northern forces of Sauron, Minas Tirith would have fallen at the end no matter what. He is far from nothing :)
Yes, but surely that battle was lead by Dain Ironfoot who clearly gave his life to win it; Thranduil was only his back-up and he did not lose much, he did not die. Also, if it were not for him allowing Gollum to escape from his woodland realm in the first place, the fellowship would have had a guide from the beginning, the Nazgul would not have been sent, the entire attempt to destroy the ring would have been quicker, and many thousands of soldiers would have not met their demise due to his sheer incompetence and foolishness.
The Lothlorien themes are so ethereal...
Tauriel's theme song is very beautifull
Tauriels songs are the best, also Thranduil is love

The two trees, and Numenor and the Silmarills....Galadriel and Elrond
And what about a little background for Thranduil and his wife and generally Mirkwood Elves....
They have to do 5-6 more movies only about Elves!
And only with Elvish music 🎶🎶🎶😍😍 🧝♀️ 🧝♂️
100 percent !!!
That will not happen, sorry to hurt your feelings. Tolkien estate was furious because the Hobbit movies were a disaster compared to LOTR, and they banned Silmarillion content from being put into movies. So, no Feanor, no Laurelin and Telperion, no Filngolfin vs Melkor, no Fall of Gondolin and Nargothrond, no Turin vs Glaurung etc..
Tolkien estate did allow 'Lord of the Rings TV Series' by producers J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay from 'Amazon Studios', which will be available on 'Prime Video', which is Amazons streaming service, Netflix and HBO(i think). And that storyline will go from the founding of Numenor to the fall of Arnor( so basically Second age)
an article from Wikipedia:
"At the start of March 2019, Amazon revealed that the series would be set in the Second Age of Middle-earth, thousands of years before the story of The Lord of the Rings. Shippey explained that the series was not allowed to contradict anything that Tolkien had written about the Second Age and would have to follow the broad strokes of his narrative, with the Tolkien Estate prepared to veto any such changes, but Amazon was free to add characters or details to fill in the gaps between Tolkien's works. The series is also only allowed to adapt and reference content from the Lord of the Rings books and their extensive appendices rather than any of Tolkien's other books that explore the Second Age such as The Silmarillion. The Tolkien Estate retained the rights to the events of the First Age while Middle-earth Enterprises held the rights to the events of the Third Age (as seen in The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings films), so the series was also not allowed to explore those. Shippey felt this left the series with "a lot of scope for interpretation and free invention"

The refined, elegant Elvish culture in Lord of the Rings reminds me much of the Catholic culture in France :)
François Royal That "refined" culture which slaughtered Protestants? Give me a break.
***** Yes.
***** lol settle. People did that, not France.
Alexander Penner French, Catholic people did it. I took issue with his comparing French Catholic culture with the near-perfect Elven culture in LOTR, even though they can be just as violent and awful as any other group of humans.
***** Well protestants hurt people too, but Elves are not perfect either! They were racist at times, and lets not forget the three kin-slayings! Mass murders committed by elves against elves. Sounds familiar eh?
I really admire elves, to say I am obsessed with them would be a gross understatement of how much I really do admire them. Men were considered better by Eru Ilúvatar
( The God In LOTR Universe) and that is why men had longer lives, whereas elves were second most precious and that is why they were immortal unless killed in battle. Also, Elves are the wisest, noblest and strongest in Middle Earth in my opinion, they were the only few to realize Sauron's rings were just a way to trick the elves, men and dwarves ( I know it should be dwarfs, but in the book the plural of dwarf is dwarfs I am pretty sure) and Lady Galadriel banished Sauron too, which showed her power since she, an elf banished Sauron, not to mention her will was strong enough to reject the ring of Power. The skills of elves in battle are LEGENDARY! The dwarfs, Bilbo and Gandalf were struggling to kill orcs whereas Legolas and Tauriel straight up Annihilated the orcs and the Elven King of the woods and stone , Thranduil was AMAZING in battle, slashing orcs within seconds, and although he himself was cold like ice, his eyes showed so much emotion and his character was so interesting. In the battles, everyone is very badly injured but the best trained elves are barely scarred on their faces or wounded a bit... Thranduil has a few scars on his face which he would hide with his illusions, like he did with the burns caused by the serpents of the North ( Dragons ). Also, if Thranduil had burns from the dragons that means he must have encountered them, and to have escaped the dragons is truly amazing. Another thing to be mentioned is... the *luscious* hair of the elves.... their hair is so .... beautiful LMAO. Considering they are immortal, they must have a lot of time not only to train in battle but to look after their hair.
Finally someone put it into words. Not to mention that the elven culture, language, music, etc is just insurmountably beautiful.
I really adore them as well :)
Just listening to this and feel good, free and healthy. Love this journey with the Fellowship. It's absolutely unbelievable and awesome

I always admired the dwarves the most, but I can respect the elves as well. Their grace and elegance is truly breath taking. To have a dwarf AND elf at ones side...it is no wonder Arogorn was able to overcome the odds. Two races who have faced so much war and peril!
the elves are just pure bad ass, love it in th hobbit where elrond says to the black riders "you should have stayed dead", the lady Galadria (sorry if spelled wrong) banishes soauron. then thranduil just slices 5 ork heads off with one stroke then continues slicing up more orcs. suppose you dont get to be an elf king without being a complete badass

When i was only nine, I came downstairs and my family was watching the first hobbit. That night, they were watching the second, and I joined in. I loved it so much that I needed to watch the first after the third later. Kili became my favorite as soon as I saw him die for some reason, while Tauriel became my second favorite. It was the best movie ever in my perspective. I soon watched the first and started over. Then I watched tlotr and didn't like it as much but I would agree it has a wonderful soundtrack. :)

Not really complete... So I feel kind of disappointed.
Seems the music also fades.
So glad I found this, it hit the right spot at the right time.
Tolkien- is creative enough to create a whole new language complete with grammar!
Also Tolkien- named a mountain ‘dark mountain’
I thought that when they talked about it on the Lord of the rings
Goes to show just how much darkness we are really dealing with, how strong it is.
My Lord Sauron will hear of your.... Wait, that music is divine
Elves are cool.

Understatement of the year
Have you seen what they do to orcs in the movies? Absolute legends.
I'm really in love with Legolas..
Nice to hear that, daughter in law ! ;D
I also think that Legolas is a great actor too. I love how he fights with the bow and arrows in The Lord of the Rings and how he fights in the Hobbit movies too.
***** I so agree with you. I read somewhere that they're thinking of making a remake of LOTR and my first thought as "NO. You can't find any actors as perfect for these roles as Peter Jackson did. Having someone else play Legolas would be a crime. Orlando is Legolas!!!"
Agree and no they are not going to make another LOTR they can't copy it, it is already to good of a movie to be made better than it already is.
I think some people love Orlando Bloom a lot more after those nude pictures of him on that lake appeared...
I have listened to this repeatedly for the past three hours. So amazing!

This is my favorite video/song thingy ever I come back to this every single night to sleep ugh it’s so beautiful
The only thing I don't like about the Elvish themes is, that Tauriel got a Theme for herself, although she never really existed and Legolas didn't. He would've deserved to have this honor and I bet it would've sounded gorgeous..
