  • @kenzoblytheproducertv4934

    Just like my work flow,I don’t even need a computer,that’s why I got the mpc x,to be able to make a complete track w/o a computer...Dope video
    The definitely need more audio tracks in stand alone,I don’t care too much for the Vsts because I use hardware boards anyway lol...

    I really wish they would give us audio track mutes and 8 more audio tracks in the next update. It they did that the MPC could totally REPLACE my DAW. I would need at least 16 audio tracks to properly record vocals because I use an old school technique called stacking when I do background vocals. It's a beast of a machine...

    • @MakeLifeExtraordinary
      @MakeLifeExtraordinary Před 3 lety +1

      I agree. I’m glad I’m not the only one who still does stacking. That’s why old-school music sounds so incredible, created on such rudimentary equipment back in the day. Engineers had no other option than to experiment and come up with ways to fatten up sound and I think most of it sounds better than 99.9% of the digital stuff of today.

    With this new update, I can connect my Tascam model 12 mixer to the X via usb cable. I would still need to route audio out cables from my fantom into the Tascam model 12. But that avoids me having to connect audio out cables into the mpc x. I wish they had true audio over usb meaning with 1 usb cable I can control both the audio and Midi. Fantom does this with usb over audio.

    On the track edit section, there's bounce to sample and bounce to audio track options. You don't even have to record as audio. Plus, I noticed you don't normalize your audio. Your audio are at the same levels after bouncing. That's good.

    Question: I do not have an MPC as yet, but.. is it feasible to bounce lets say..... 4 of those audio tracks { after mixing them to your liking} into one new audio track and then delete the original audio tracks after the bounce to free up those initial 4 tracks. So at the end of that process... instead of using 4 of those 8 tracks that are available... you would bounce them and now be using only one of the possible 8 ?? Does that make any sense and is it doable?

    • @park171
      @park171  Před 2 lety

      It’s doable. I heard Junkie XL would bounce all his horns stems and string stems. Nots sure if that would work you or other people but knowing that it works for his film scores. It’s could work

    Hey Ben, I've been watching your video's and we have similar setups and workflow.I'm def running hybrid but mostly write on the MPC-X with all my midi hardware connected back to my MPC. As great as the Akai 2.8 release was, there are a couple of issues that I've had the even Akai can't figure out still. Let me know if you can figure out how to control the MPC-X Transport in standalone mode via another controller. From all of my research, I don't think that it is not possible. Example: in this video I see you step off CAM to go to another synth but you still had to reach over to hit play/stop on physically on the MPC. One thing I think should work is a foot pedal. I have a Nektar PACER that should work but I am more interested in using any keyboard that has midi cntrl capabilities which I have throughout my rig and room. Let me know your thoughts?

    • @park171
      @park171  Před 3 lety

      Willie Hollingsworth there’s definitely some compromise. Keep in mind I can use for example man lab to change any patch in my setup. The downside is I have to consult a chart for every module and synth. So I decided my work flow would suffer by trying to control everything. Also s fro controlling the mpc x from anther controller. I have a MPD226. I’m going to try to enable to slave my mpc to it. I’ll. Let you know.

    Question:
    Why not "BOUNCE" your midi to the sample pool instead of Re-recording it?
    Then you can copy it to a audio track

  • @artisticmemoirsoffieldherp7767

    I have an MPC X . I’m trying to figure out what the sample rate (kHz) for the 24 bit depth. I’ve googled that it’s 44.1 kHz in standalone, but I would feel a lot more comfortable if I could view that within the MPC to confirm that that’s true. I’ve only found a window where I can change from 16 bit to 24 bit, and no kHz information is displayed. In controller mode, you’re supposed to have multiple options for the kHz settings. I can only (my preference) record audio in standalone. So I need to make sure the kHz setting for my guitar is correctly matched to the mpcx. Basically, I’m just trying to figure out how I can get into the MPC X, and see those options for myself before recording. Where can I see it displayed? I’m really only looking for confirmation that I’m doing it correctly. Any info is appreciated!

    • @park171
