Practical, completely approachable and a lot more fun than you might think, Honda's PCX150 is a lot of bang for the buck. We scoot around on the 2017 PCX150 and find a machine that could definitely find a home in our garage.

thank you for the review!! i just got mine today!! luv it!....after riding a honda metropolitan & ruckus, this is so nice!
Glad you enjoyed it and congrats on the new ride!
Hi Pat - that's great - yeah, it's nice to have a little extra get-up-and-go. Yet, this PCX is still easy to ride. Thanks for sharing your experience.
Thank You!
For the longest time. I could never imagine myself riding a scooter. Thought they were dumb, tiny, lame. Now that I have one, it's the greatest thing I ever.
:) I also never imagined myself on a scooter as I owned a motorcycle for 2 years... but now thinking about it
Have you ride it in the winter?
Likewise I was a Rocker in the late 60s so hairdriers as we called scooters were the enemy.
At 66 I've just bought a PCX125
They are vastly better than the old Lambretta and Vespa dogs.
How times change.
Seriously
Same here
This is a real review, unlike the robotic voice overs that simply read the specifications. This review gave real world information and discussed why certain features were important while others less so. I wish I could find more reviews like this.
Glad you enjoyed! Thanks for sharing your thoughts. - Byron
Just picked mine up yesterday put 14 miles on it riding home from the Dealership...wow...this thing is cooool
I still got my 2011 Honda PCX, 27,000 miles on it. Still runs strong and smooth
I need it to buy it how can I buy it
I have a 2016 and it is great for running around the city. Its so easy and predictable to ride and park. Fun!
We certainly agree!
Amazing little machine.Rode various bikes for 63 years,Legs not strong enough for many bikes now, so bought the PCX. Quite amazed at its performance.
This video sealed the deal for me. I purchased a 2018 pcx 150 last May and couldn't be happier. Your review presented all the features and performance aspects in a precise and visually stunning way. A great urban chariot. Thanks
I just took the MSF course and plan to get one of these. Was going to get a Vespa, but at nearly half the cost with more features, the PCX was a no brainer.
Thanks for sharing your story - did you ever end up purchasing one of these scooters?
Been riding a 2013 PCX 150 for 4 years now with absolutely no problems whatsoever.
Sweet. 👍
Excellent , very thorough review !
I've been researching , riding numerous scooters lately. Hands down, the PCX 150 is easily the best one I've ridden. It's an absolute pleasure to zip around on .
Honda quality speaks for itself .
I ordered a 2018 in pearl white :) , I should have it in a few weeks 👍
I can't wait !
That's awesome - glad you enjoyed the review - ride safe!
One thing to note for taller riders like me at 6'3 is that the PCX 150 is one of the only scooters where my knees didn't start to get up into the handlebars. I think it's probably designed primarily for the average height rider, but I'm still really comfortable on the PCX.
Thanks for the note! It definitely has broad appeal in terms of its size, I could also imagine riders much smaller than me at 6' feeling right at home on the PCX.
@alexcrouch9
Thanks for that. Im 6'1" at 225lbs. Is my weight an issue?
Kastmaster 2000 I don't know. I'm a bean pole at 180 lbs. The only thing I would expect that to affect is speed by a few mph and maybe seat comfort would be a little different.
Kastmaster 2000 I'm 5'10" at 135lb so I think I can eek out a top speed of around 70mph. About to get this bike, so excited!
That's good to know - I'm thinking about picking up a scooter, but at a hair over 6' I'm definitely conscious of getting one with some legroom.
I've had one of these PCX's since 2014. It has never let me down.
I have been looking for a 150 cc - 180 cc scoot to go with my RV mostly. I have seen many reviews and this is the best I have seen so far. Nice job.
Thanks for the great content about the PCX 150. Mine is a 2018 silver Honda PCX 150. I love this bike. Honda PCX rules!
Thank you for the review! I’ve decided that I want to get a scooter and so far the PCX 150 is at the top of my list.
Best review I've heard all year.
Thanx Byron for the excellent presentation on the Honda PCX-150 scooter. I just luv it, I plan on getting one anytime soon. Ya man!!
Your Jamaican brotha,
Peace.
Glad you enjoyed! Let us know when you get your hands on one, would love to hear how it works for you. -Byron
Excellent review actually!
Just bought a 2022 Honda PCX and it rocks!! 90mpg and speeds up to 65mph, its perfect!!
Thank you for such informational video ! You should get a commission on sales. I bought mine today, mainly in part for the information provided on this video . Thanks again !!!
Exactly what I want a scooter for - checking off local todo lists while not using up all the gas. Not being xtra cool and what not. I am just over 6', so it was very good to hear and see your height in comparison. Also to see the underseat storage in use for both the helmet and shopping bags was useful. An excellent review. Actually, the best I've seen.
Thanks for the note! Machines like this definitely have a place and purpose. - Byron
Waiting in India for this scooter....Love to buy when launched. Thanks for this video
My Saturday errands. The bank. Post office. The farmer's market. Lunch. My commute to work. Food shopping for two. I've put hamburgers and shakes in a tray in the tub and they stay upright. Honest. You volunteer to go out to get that missing ingredient for dinner. I've ridden it in high 30's and low 40 degree temps and it turns right over. The engine doesn't get hot in summer. No shifting. Breaks are great. Going into my third year riding it and after 12,000 miles it's going strong. Replaced the front tire and get regular maintenance. And it really does get between 80 and 100 miles per gallon. Note: If you over stuff the seat and cannot get it open just push down on the seat and hit the release. I had to google that once when it happened to me. Scooters are underutilized transit tools in the USA but they are a lot of fun. You need a motorcycle license to ride it. I took the safety course and practiced a lot in a parking lot with the aid of "Ride like a Pro" practice DVD for motorcycles. Break and throttle works with scooters for slow riding and superior control. I would just say respect it. Cornering in twistees is not like a bicycle. It rides like an easy to ride motorcycle but with the same physics so you need to understand cornering. Scooters are sometimes treated like the safe, shallow end of the pool but respect for being on two wheels is always needed. So don't just ''twist and go'' but practice and go slow on turns until you really get the feel for cornering and take the safety course. Took me about 1,000 miles to feel comfortable, but that included practicing a lot in parking lots doing emergency breaking and balance and cornering. One day I was diverted into a construction zone and was very happy I practiced going around cones in a lot cause ditches would not be fun to fall in. Honestly, if you've been thinking about getting a bike as I was for about 40 years, but not sure about shifting and the complexity and weight of a motorcycle, this is a great way to go.
Post office? I bet you write checks at the grocery store, too.
The Best Advice for someone trying to get on two wheels!!. A lot of people are undecided and think too much about the stigma that comes associated with this wonderful little machines to be ready to own one..... filling up with 5 dollars a week and paying like 150 on insurance a year lets you save a Lot!!
But of course there's always the fools that will recommend you to minimum start on a 600cc because you'll easily get bored, smho. More important in this times of crisis than ever to save!!
Terrific report. Thank you.
I've had mine for 11 months now I've put about 400 miles on her and I am very excited the weather is getting warmer
This 153cc scooter is just plain Fun I've owned Motorcycles from 600 cc sports bikes to big Harleys
And this one is more fun than any of them
👍
Fantastic review, thank you..!!
Purchased a 2015 Honda PCX150 Metallic Black July 2017. Did some mods as in: Givi windscreen-NCY variator kit 13g rollers face plate and variator-Leo Vince Corsa exhaust. I enjoy it. Great ride and comfortable. So far max speed GPS was 75mph. I can run highway speeds (55-65mph) no issues and even hit freeway/interstate speeds (65-70mph) but prefer not to. Scooter/bike is a little light for the freeway/interstate runs. I am just getting into the scooter/bike scene and purchased a Tao Tao Powermax VIP150 to make sure I could handle something before I purchased a higher priced scooter/bike. I have a disability that prevents me from riding a bike/scooter to heavy or big and the Honda PCX fits the bill. As a consumer there is a market for scooter/bikes to be tapped. Biggest issue is advertising is not well known. yes this review helped me decide and a lot of others reviews on the Honda PCX. If you can ...find a Suzuki Burgman 200 to test as it may be my next test and I do plan on keeping the PCX. Three Scooter/bikes I am looking into are the 2018 Kymco Xtown 300i - 2018 Yamaha Xmax 300 - 2018 Suzuki Burgman 200. Also Sym Citicom 300. Thanks in advance.
Almost on 20 000 km on mine love it ride it every day 46km/liter.
Thanks for this wonderful review. I have a Honda motorcycle but am considering a scooter.. this was a nice review and let me know all the features. THANKS! And I loved the fact you mentioned automatic and rider height - that's an important factor for me.
Glad you enjoyed! You'll have a lot of fun on something like this, I sure did! - Byron
Happy to hear that... I am also a motocycle rider but i am selling my kawazaki ninja and considering this Honda PCX scooter as i am finding it more practical... specially that I am a bit short for high bikes ... Advise me please
I love mine can't wait for Spring
Vroom, Vroom
Thank you for this informative review. I'll be picking this up in the next few days!
Congrats! You're going to have a great time with this one.
Gonna have a blast! I live in San Diego...never rains and the weather is always "scooter perfect". Great to get around and cruse coast highway on the weekends.
Looking at a grey day here in southern Oregon got to say we're a little jealous! Have fun out there.
Nicely done. Thanks!
I'm thinking about purchasing one of these
Excellent review!
Thank you! Had a great time riding the PCX.
I like your review dude
Glad you enjoyed the review - thanks for watching.
I have a 2017. Luv it. Thanks for the review. Be safe!
Awesome! You stay safe out there as well. - Byron
Riders Domain Thanks . When it 1st came out a few yrs ago at 125cc and only white and cherry red. I knew I wanted one. Glad I waited till summer 2016 and got 2017 and dark blue. Me and my daughter enjoy riding it . Be safe out there everyone.
That's awesome, especially getting to share the experience with your daughter! Take care and thanks for taking the time to share your experience with the bike. - Byron
I haven't been on a Honda 150 scooter in years. When I saw this new 150 Honda scooter, I gotta have one.
Get one
Good review
And thanks for listing your gear. I was going to ask who made the jacket. Cool. :)
Thanks!
I’m a little to the scene but this is a great review. Thanks.
This is really nice for someone who us small since motorcycles are more likely to be dangerous. Some suggest people less then 140lbs shouldn't ride a motorcycle. This is a happy medium since I don't plan to drive long distance or on the highway.
WOW you made a GREAT video Thank You ....
I got the pcx 125cc i hit 68mph on that
So how can this only to 65mph being a 150cc
EXACTLY!!!! It's a Cadillac! Timeless and reliable....
I'm about to get mine tomorrow (PCX150)... and I'm thinking this bike would be in my stable for a while....
Not as exclusive as a Vespa, but it's there (in that ranking), it's there...
good review. thx
Great review on the Honda PCX 150. When I see the PCX, I kind a seen it like a Honda Fit of scooters. Lol Its economical, frugal on gas, lots of storage just like the Fit. Are you going to do any accessories like bigger windscreen for the PCX?
Unfortunately no accessories this time around, our test unit had to go back home. The PCX definitely checks a lot of practical boxes, was really pleased with the time I got to spend with it! - Byron
This is gonna be my next scooter after having my 09 Yamaha Vino 125 with over 18,500 miles and still going strong. The Pcx 150 will give me more room and comfort as well as power.
Sounds like a solid plan, let us know what you think when you get your hands on one! -Byron
nice bro....good job👍👍👍
I picked up my 2018 Sept 15th with 1126mi on it. I now have 2184. Everything on this video is 100% true, it is a BLAST.
Nice! Thank you.
Waiting for the ADV150
I am 49 years old and 5' 9" tall about 195 lbs....this thing has plenty of power to hall me around no problem... I've only gotten her up to about 55 mph but still had more throttle left...gently breaking her in for now...LoL
Thinking of hiring one of these on holiday. One scooter between us. Me and my son both over 6' combined weight of 350lbs Has it got the power?!
@@ijl66 I probably would recommend a 300 cc scooter if you're doing 2 up riding for more than say 10 miles
The PCX 150 could do it but I sure it has a weight limit not sure what that limit is... Honda. Com ??
My first ride was the 2013 model of this in candy red. Had just over a gallon tank, maybe 1.4 with reserve, but still got 90-100 mpg. I did plenty of motorcycle group rides on it, and while it was slow to get to highway speeds, it could keep up if everyone was going 65 or so. I'm surprised they kept an analog panel, as I thought the 2015 or 2016 went digital. Either way, it was a great first "bike" and a ton of fun around town. I eventually upgraded to a Kawasaki Vulcan S, to do more group rides and more highway travel, but I do miss that storage!
Hard to beat that storage, that's for sure! How are you liking that Vulcan S? I got to ride one a while back and thought it was a lot of fun too, definitely a different type of appeal than the scooter but nice nonetheless - Byron
Love it! It was a quick learn even though it'd been 3 years since my MSF course, and even with 3,500 miles on it, I'm still always finding ways to be a better rider. The thing just sings at high speeds, and now that the engine is broken in, really likes being shifted at higher RPM (I'm not a "motorcycle guy" but I know the engine comes from Kawi's sport bike, so that makes sense). And the ergo-fit adjustability is set up really well, particularly for us shorter folk. Lots of after-market accessories, too, though the OEM ones from Kawasaki are pricier than they should be. Couldn't recommend it more highly!
Nice scooter, just wish Honda would bring to the states their many other scooters.
I like your jacket , I clicked on the link you provided only to find it's on "closeout" with only large being available :( I'd need an XL or XXL ....... I'm sad
Excellent video! I'm sold. Thank you!
Love my 2019 Honda PCX150........85 MPG.....65 MPH....
I’m thinking hard about getting a 2019.
I live in Jersey, is the practical to drive on the turnpike or parkway?
awesome review
Thanks!
I liked it cause you showed the bike and you riding it, not just a pov as a driver
keep them coming
Thanks for the notes and watching! We're hard at work on more vids, so stay tuned! - Byron
will do
Nice color
Looking at getting a scooter for my short weekday commute in urban traffic. A scooter seems more practical than a motorcycle for this purpose. Can you tell me how the Honda PCX 150 does climbing hills? I've got a 1-mile stretch going home that averages about 5% grade and peaks to about 9% for about 1/10 of a mile. I'm #215 and my gear might be an additional 5-10#. Mahalo!
I just bought a scooter (not a Honda). They are fun and no worries about shifting or stalling makes for a happy place. :)
It's definitely a more relaxed feel, leaves more focus for zipping around in traffic! - Byron
What’s the aftermarket look like for these, as far as cosmetics and performance?
I like this scooter...but I'm 6'5" Would I fit on this comfortably? Maybe w a seat change?
I saw a lot of scooter, but some reason I like that type of scooter it fixed my way of scooter I would wants, I in to electric scooters but I like that type of scooter thank you showing that type of scooters 😎
Our pleasure! Glad you enjoyed the review! - Byron
Us Indians been waiting for this since forever.Honda here only sell 110cc scooter and have no plans to launch premium scooters when the market is indeed ready for one considering the Aprilia sr150 is doing pretty good.
Please tell me about
Top speed
And
Body metal or fibre
Great review. Thank you
Thank you Edward Norton
LOL!!!
Those PCX are hard to find were are those things available at?
Got one. Also have the Forza 300. Smile every time I blast off!!!
That's great - thanks for sharing. A lot of smiles for miles!
What's the difference btw a pcx vs a more powerful forza?
@@mming_my top speed, acceleration and ABS for front & BACK, also Forza is more premium.
How often does a machine like this need maintenance?
Can I customize it to make it a bit taller?
New to this kind of stuff, can I get this with a normal American drivers license?
Is the seat as hard as some say?
My PCX150 takes me anywhere...so does my vstar 1300...and my Honda Shadow 750....as well as my two Smart cars...my chevy Cruze and my Chevy Spark.....love em all....
And you can drive just one at the time
It was the 2018 one right? that came out in 2017?
Ashland, Oregon!
My 2018 low mileage Honda PCX 150 wont start , I warmed it up a few times during the winter its in my garage, lights turn on, but it makes this sound when I try to start it but wont start, any help please?
Cool. I buying one. 😊
I plan to get one when I'm older, my only question is can it take on a freeway? Or should I get a slight a 200cc that can take it on?
If you're going to do a lot of freeway time, I'd suggest getting something a little bit bigger. - Byron
Hey Byron, do you think a 17 year old who has been driving for 6 months would get used to driving it? Are the controls on it somewhat easy to use?
I think you'd get used to it pretty quick, the controls are as simple as you'll find and it's a really manageable machine all around.
How much is the price of this bike found in the video
Fuxk i bought a Lance Cali Classic Today 200I it’s more like 169cc... I wish I would have done more research but I think it’s fine. Only wish I had more room under my seat. I only got it to commute to my job and save gas... I’m gonna be commuting around 42 miles a day... Also it says it was 70-89 mpg idk 😐 I hope I made a good choice overall...
Great review. I have a 2019 PCX 150 in Indonesia and an Smax 155 in the states and they are two different animals. You nailed the key points of the PCX. It surprisingly absorbs the road and has the "grandma's Cadillac" feeling. It also has smooth acceleration even if your too aggressive on the throttle. By contrast, the Smax uses a mid-shock and is motorcycle like tight in the suspension, and with a bit more power and wider tires, I find it better for the U.S. riding needs because you can cruise comfortably at 70mph with the confidence of 328lbs wet to keep you planted to the road at high speed. The PCX in Indonesia does have disc brakes front and back and is key-less.
Sensation of granmas cadillac,i want one
Yeah, the reviewer was trying so hard to be nice but you know he got done with the review and hopped onto a sport bike to do a quick blast on the freeway! The "gentle" engine comment got me laughing, too. I ride scooters and love 'em but you just can't review one like you would a motorcycle.
VTEC yooooo!!!!
My route to and from work is 30% city with 70% highway/interstate. ( 13.2 miles each way). Can I still achieve 95mpg with very easy going acceleration as reasonably timed while still doing a consistent 60 to 65 mph on the highway?
I weight little under 190 pounds here worst case with full motorcycle gear on. 5 foot 9. Cheers.
I can't say for sure but would doubt 95mpg in those circumstances, that engine is basically topped out in the 60 to 65mph range. It'll still be fantastic, but I'd be a little more reserved in my mileage expectations there. - Byron
where can i purchase it in the u.s.
I have a 2019 model It does 140-150 klms per hour ..on the motorway it will quite happily do 90klms per hour..or 110 klms per hour..the speed limit is100klms
I'm 6,2 and weigh 310Ibs. Will the moped get me to point A to point B fast
Jaylen Smiley I know you can lose the weight !
What is the MPG and HP on this model? Not the hybrid/electric twin, but this model (PCX 2019)
100 mpg and 14 hp I think
I'm 198 lbs and mine goes 64 mph with me on it
Can you guys make a review on the yamaha smax
Hi - we will take your note under consideration - on another note, we'll likely have a review of the new Yamaha XMAX at some point so stay tuned.
great for the bay area
Couldn't agree more! - Byron
I'm in Tampa, my scooter is perfect for the roads here.
This is as fun as a scooter can get if you don't intend to go on the freeway, I had a 11 PCX125 only gave it up cause I do ride freeways. It is about the most flickable, nimble scooter you will ever find.
Couldn't have said it better myself! - Byron
plan on getting one for my B-day. u look like your over 6 ft. u look kinda cramped in. 150cc are more suited for smaller ppl. maybe do another video using a 250cc or higher.
I'm right at 6 ft, and though it might look a bit cramped I never felt uncomfortable on the scooter. It really was one of the most relaxed machines I've been on all year. - Byron
Do you guys happen to know the top speed? Can this keep up with Freeway traffic?
It held steady at just about 65 mph, so was able to manage in the slow lane on the freeway.
but you better try MIO i 125 f theres available in u.s
Any recommendations for dealers in California? The one I went into told me over $5500 out the door. To say I was insulted in an understatement.
Check the internet and by it from a dealer anywhere in the USA them have them shipped it to a Local Dealer
How we I order this bike please anyone can help
Made for the Asian market, loads of them here in Indonesia.
