    These are the types of review videos that we need!! Real and honest experience! No shaky camera work, poor audio, paper spitting specs, crazy/unneccassry transitions, as well hiding promotions in the video. I appreciate how genunie and detailed you were. This definately adds some perspective!

      I like that you say this is a good review because of the lack of production quality basically. Also “hiding promotions” isn’t a thing that happens. People are on here to do a job and have ads they have to read so they can continue to do this as a job.

    A Tacoma is and has been my dream car/truck for life. I find them to look very reliable and comfortable for being a truck. Love my 2021 Taco. Just needed a reliable well-made truck. Went with longer bed because I actually use it as a truck and it's nice to have the extra space back there. I didn't buy it for low gas mileage, we know with a truck it's not a gas sipper or a stop light champ. It rides good, handles well and easy to park for a truck.

    For what it's worth, I drove my dad's Tacoma from cocoa beach to Chicago. 3 people and a dog, pulling a trailer. I had no real complaints about the trip at all. It pulled the trailer great, and it was very comfortable. The only thing I found annoying was trying to run cruise control pulling the trailer. It would shift gears more often than I thought was necessary. Otherwise a great smooth trip

    I've had my 2020 SR5 4x4 since July 2020. I really love it. The Tacoma is what you want yours to be that's very true.
    Mine is not really modified much. I put 265/75R16 all trerian tires on, a tonneau cover, some seat covers and some stereo upgrades. I daily drive mine too. I use it to tow a pop up camper and carry bikes and camping gear. Coming from a Liberty CRD it's a little bit longer, longer hood but always a good size to park.
    Fuel economy is just ok. Not really worse than what I had before.
    Since I got a 2020 I got the safety sense stuff, Android auto and apple car play. Also it came with the power seat and power rear window, all the 2020 SR5 and up with a V6 engine get the power seat and window. Technology is more than enough for me.
    As far as passengers I used to have to take my mom and sister to the grocery store with me every week and it was ok for them in the double cab but it's a little tight maybe for a longer trip. I wouldn't suggest the access cab unless you never carry passengers.
    Mine has been extremely dependable. I really totally fell in love with the truck last summer when I took it on a week long camping trip to Ohiopyle.

    I just bought a 2023 tacoma trd sport 4dr 6cyl. I had a 2020 extra cab 2.7 4cyl. Incredible tough truck. Unstoppable little tank. You think the 3.5 is doggie lmao. Try the 2.7 on the highway. It's like you threw a anchored out & dragging it. I've got 84 miles on the 2023 & it is incredible on hills compare to the might 2.7. both are outstanding. Paid 27,000 in 2020. 2023 now they gave me 20,000.00 toward my 2023 trd sport. Pays to keep it clean & scratch free... Enjoy your taco's everyone

    Yep. You hit most of the negatives. Slow as hell (pedal commander did help a lot but low end torque sucks). Back seat is small even for my kids. I would add a couple. 1) Rough suspension (even for a truck) when on road driving. 2) Odd seating position. Half sitting half laying. No vehicle is perfect but just some things to think about before dropping the $

    Hey I really appreciate your review. I actually prefer the basic tech in older vehicles. More and more tech means more complexity and distraction. When I get in my wife's new Highlander I feel like I'm in the cockpit of some spaceship! She barely uses the backup camera and parking sensors 😁 I love my 2010 Rav V6. I did put an aftermarket radio to get Bluetooth, but aside from heated mirrors that's all I care about. I understand alot of the modern tech is safety related though and I appreciate auto-dimming headlights and adaptive cruise control. I plan on getting that generation Taco as my weekender toy.

    • @Wolf.88
      @Wolf.88 Před 2 lety +2

      Correct. The infotainment system in my Silverado looks pedestrian but it works great and doesn’t distract. The infotainment screen on the new Tundra is ridiculous. Too large and hard to use according to new owners.

    While in Utah earlier this year, I had a 2020 Tacoma SR5 rental. Drove it 1100 miles over 3 days while I was there so I feel like I can give a solid review.
    Pros: There’s so much great stuff to say about this truck, personally I like it much better than the Colorado. Handles easily, smooth and quiet ride, easy controls, great stereo, adaptive cruise control worked great, plenty of power for a regular daily driver. Driving around Salt Lake City I averaged 18.1 mpg and on highways when I drove down to Arches, I averaged 23.9 mpg. Didn’t get to tow or go off-road since it was a rental so I can’t speak on that stuff. Plenty of cup holders and storage too. Easy to drive, easy to park, and easy to use. Not much more I can ask for.
    Cons: The Apple car play was very finicky and would seemingly only work half the time. The other times it was just regular Bluetooth connection which worked flawlessly. Perhaps it was just user error as it was my first time trying to use it, but we both had issues. I thought it was extremely uncomfortable as the driver, but my wife thought it was very comfortable as the passenger. The fabric on the seats felt cheap and there was minimal cushion. The lane departure assistance system was horrible and I had to turn it off within the first hour of driving.
    Overall, I would definitely recommend this truck to anyone looking for a mid size pickup. Just make sure you buy a seat cushion afterwards 😂

    Before I had the 2018 Tacoma 4x4 off road. Now I have a 2022 Tacoma sport. I recommend knowing what trim you want because one is better for off roading and the other is great for the city and everyday driving. Know the Steering wheel changes from off road and sport. TRD Off road tends to be more stiff when turning and TRD Sport is more smooth and comfortable when turning. Be sure to do your own research and just so you know you can’t go wrong with the Tacoma SR5. Toyota Tacoma are the best and fun truck.

I have the Blue crush metallic Tacoma 6-speed manual transmission I did a tonneau cover & extra "TRD off-road" badge on the side for 5 horsepower. It's got the predator step bars & the mud flaps makes it look pretty clean on the outside. Similar 2 yours! I hate the ⛽ mileage tho🤷 & my shit is stock

      I agree with you, I'm loving the 🚛💨, my buddy bought one back in the day around the year 2000 it was a TRD 4x4 5spd with a locking rear diff & here I am about 20 years later & finally got a Tacoma! Damn it's an expensive 🚛💨 40K+ for a Tacoma! 🤦... the other day I was like I need to know how fast my truck can go in each ⚙️ so if I have to pass or accelerate I kno what gear to put it in. I shit you not 3rd ⚙️ hit 96 mph & did not even hit the rev limiter yet, if I'm going 80mph or above use 4th ⚙️ but if I'm going 75 mph down the highway (10mph above most freeway limit) I have to put the truck in 3rd ⚙️ that's just crazy! 👍💯👍

    Rotational weight will rob you of HP/TQ much more than static weight. I wonder how the truck would feel with stock tires on it.

    Apple CarPlay is a must now. I’ll never buy a vehicle without it. Infotainment screens literally only need a radio and apple carplay. My phones navigation is better. Our phones are better at everything than these car screens. Mirror the phone and charge me less.

    I love my Tacoma.
    Yes, the transmission sucks. But it's honestly it's not slow. It's not fast, but not slow.
    I've owned a Ford Taurus, Dodge Intrepid, Dodge Neon, Mercury Sable, GMC Sonoma, Nissan Versa, Ford Explorer, 3 Corollas, and a Toyota Camry. Only the Camry was SLIGHTLY quicker than my 2023 Tacoma Off Road.
    Yall, add an exhaust, an intake and a tune and shell be a perfectly serviceable truck.

    • @JordanMcKeithan

  • @MasterCarguy44-pk2dq
    @MasterCarguy44-pk2dq Před rokem

    First off folks you do not need a TRD off-road. A rwd with rear diff lock will take you to the same places as the awd off road. Infact the pre runner is what rubs the events and courses before hand. If your never going off road get a SR or SR5 rwd.

  • @HotSizzleTV_

    I would love a 1st or second gen Tacoma but man they are expensive asf… so I am like well if I can find a 3rd gen for a good price might as well get it. I’m looking at a Trd off-road, I thought about the Trd pro but the 10g extra for the badges nah I don’t think so plus I want a sunroof and the off road are the only one that have it. But I’m currently in a debate between a 4Runner, rav4 xse or limited , jeep Cherokee trail hawk I’ll get the truck second after the suv. But what do you think what would you get mainly the rav4 was for saving gas and camping but the 4 runner is so capable I don’t plan to do off-road like crazy soft road yes I don’t got all that money to do off roading and brake things.

    • @JordanMcKeithan
      @JordanMcKeithan  Před 2 lety

      I’ve had a 2006 4Runner and a 99 Jeep grand Cherokee before my Tacoma. Both great vehicles for sure. I’d still have the 4Runner had it not been totaled in a car accident. Absolutely loved that car. Very capable off-road and spacious. If you can find an older 4Runner like 06-11 you might be able to get them for a good deal! The newer 4Runners are more expensive than the Tacomas I think since it’s an suv vs a truck.

    If I’m not in need of a bed, should I just get the Rav4 with a hitch?? Anything I’d pull would be handyman shit around the house. The mpg is just not attractive for a high priced truck that just looks sexy. I have no clue what I want or need but the only flaw with the Tacoma is the mpg. I’m looking at all the Toyota options

    • @JordanMcKeithan
      @JordanMcKeithan  Před 2 lety +1

      4Runner is a great option too if you don’t need the bed and the mileage is a little better I think.

    Hey! I have a question, so I want to trade in my car and buy a tacoma trd off road. This would be my first time having a pick up truck and I will be using the truck every day. My question is, how do you put your groceries? Do you put it inside or in the trunk? Sorry I really don’t have an idea. Thanks

    • @JordanMcKeithan
      @JordanMcKeithan  Před rokem

      I usually put mine in the back seat. Unless if you have a bed-cover you could put it in the bed of the truck.

    I don’t think I’ll add the extra features I need the best gas mileage I can get lol. I’m stuck between a 2021 Camry XSE and 2021 Tacoma trd. Pretty much at this point I’m leaning towards the Camry. I don’t have use for a truck. Plus I’ll save gas. Texas gas prices are at 3.30 as of today.
