I wasn't really sure how to do this video, so I think it feels a bit clumsy, but let me know what you think. My Links: Twitter: / meggbookwest Instagram: / wickedwestbooks GoodReads: www.goodreads.com
I just discovered this series and had to skim this new version after reading the original. I thought it was largely an improvement too, but I actually enjoyed trying to piece together how clairvoyance really worked. I'm now halfway through the original Mime Order.
I read the original Bone Season book in 2018 and I just never continued with the series. I own all the original ones - but I recently purchased the rewrite for the first book cause I wanted to continue and I loved the cover (without realizing that so much had changed) - Do I now need to repurchase all of them? hahaha I'm kinda bumbed out cause rebuying a series I already own is a big deal... but I also want to enjoy the full story in the proper way. What do you recommend?
I read the original version of the first four books. And I really enjoyed them. When I started the first book, I had a tough time getting into it - but once we got to Oxford, I really started to enjoy the series. In general, I found a lot of things to be confusing. I think I will take your advice and get the 10th edition revised books and re-read.
Oh thanks for this. I had only read 2 of the books a few years ago and they were great but a bit of a struggle for me to keep track of all the details and factions. I heard she was rewriting it, so I'm glad to hear the details. I think I'll restart with the new books.
Thanks for this ! Just finished book 2, and bought book 3 before realizing there was a rewrite happening (made a friend read book one and she told me that it was rewritten) and i wasnt sure if i should read the rewritten verion, if it was worth it, but now im going to hold back on book 3 and just read the rewritten versions!
Yes. I didn't like the first version of book 3, so I'm really hoping the rewrite is better on that book. Book 4 also ends in a major cliffhanger, but book 5 comes out next January.
Yes. At this point, I would only read the older version if you want to compare them yourself. The second third and fourth book come out with their new editions in May, so you'll be able to read all four books in the new edition then.
Because of your video, my book club decided to read the new version instead of the library copy. Thanks!

I've never read the series. Would you recommend just reading the revised edition?
