I love how the game flips everything here; in the final phase when he sees all 4 bosses come back to fight him, peppino screams in rage instead of terror, “the death I deservioli” is recontextualized in unexpectancy part 3 as a theme for a manic power trip rather than a terrifying timer, and overall just makes a perfect ending. just the pure unbridled scream of someone who's DONE WITH YOUR SHIT. I also like that he has no power-up for the final fight that allows him to slap and beat down every boss, it's just he's FUCKING PISSED OFF enough to do that.

Platformer for the start, round two was bullet hell (Peppino was the one firing bullets) and a bear-em-up for the finale. And seeing Peppino lose his shit like that is just amazing.

Seen a friend play this a while back. Wanted to play it then, and seeing this....I *NEED* to play this! Peppino's anger let him change game genres mid-boss fight.....twice. Platformer for the start, round two was bullet hell (Peppino was the one firing bullets) and a bear-em-up for the finale. And seeing Peppino lose his shit like that is just amazing.
