Bro, these videos are beyond helpful. It is near impossible finding any videos on just basic song structure and arrangement of metal sub-genres here on CZcams. Even if it's generic, it is a good starting point for people to go through the motions to make something better in the future. You have a talent for teaching this subject in a way that a kindergartener would understand, and I mean that as the greatest compliment lol.

Well it depends on what you consider modern now, modern used to be architects-core and like Northlane and Polaris kinda stuff but now modern metalcore is more like Loathe and Spiritbox atleast that’s how it seems to me

Ja, ich hab auch schon von Bassisten Lob für den Tone vom Bass bekommen, weiß aber echt nicht ob es nicht eher am post processing liegt, da kann man echt noch viel rauskitzeln. Ich schätze mal am ende ist der Bass halt nen Bass und er macht seinen Job, nicht mehr und nicht weniger. Viel vom Sound kommt von der Software. Aber then again kann (und sollte) ich das als Gitarrist vieleicht auch nicht beurteilen.^^

Yeah I had the inhale is bad dabate before in the comments. From my experience the inhaling is much less taxing on the throat then exhaling, and my vocal teacher says there can't go too much wrong. I also looked into it and there is not really any data that suggests that inhaling is bad for your health. It might as well be an urban legend.
If you find any actual research on that topic, feel free to change my mind. ;)

Re: The lyrics. I always go back to what Phil Bozeman of Whitechapel once said "Our first album was about torturing and killing people. The second album is a lot more mature and polished. It's about torturing and killing people."
This is why, as great as Cattle Decap is, they are not deathcore. Deathncore can't be about environmentalism and eating more vegetables.

What distortion are you using I’m planning to make a deathcore song too to show it to my friends lol and tuning
Tuning was standard for 7 of the 8 strings, so BEAdgbe. You could just as well drop the low B to an A for comfort.
Soundwise is kinda depends on what you have. I was using a tube screamer (Ignites free Tyrant screamer plugin) and an ENGL amp (THU). But the gear doesn't really matter as long as it is all turned up to 11.^^

@@Bosmek I can find some for you but your voice isn’t exactly supposed to have air going inward like that, you also can’t use your diaphragm properly when inhaling with that much pressure and people who do excessive inhales get vocal nodules and in rare cases their lungs can collapse. Like you can feel it when you do inhales the amount of pressure is very unhealthy. I would learn fry it’s safe and you can do a lot of those same sounds but without all the layering and down pitching.

Nah, they are the most relaxed technique for me to do. I get more sore by standard exhale growling, probably also because I barely do it.
Inhales are better sound wise because not many people do it except for people like alex koehler from Chelsea Grin (when he still could)
