My all time favorite Kevin Costner movie. I saw it numerous times at the theater and on tv too. Great.
Costner did a great job as Robin Hood.
Fun fact. Kevin Costner began filming for this motion picture almost immediately after directing, and starring in Dances With Wolves. Therefore, he didn't have time to learn how to speak with an English accent. He initially wanted to delay filming for a month or two so that he could educate himself on how to speak with a proper dialect, but rhe studio executives refused, because by doing so, they wouldn't be able to finish producing the film in time for a summer release. Since then, most critics pointed out Costner's lack of accent first and foremost in almost every review. But Alan Rickman, who played The Sheriff of Nottingham, came to Costner's defense claiming that during the 1200's (The time this film takes place) most of the people living in England, at the time, actually didn't speak with accents either. Apparently different dialects developed with the invention of modern english, which didn't begin to take shape until the mid to late 1400's. 😊
Anyways....This was my absolute favorite film, for a couple years, when it first released. I was only 12 at the time. I always was enamoured with the Robin Hood lore, and being a kid who didn't know movies anywhere near as much as I did when I got older, I liked the fact that this film had a nice variety of romance, humor, action, and at times, seriousness. I also liked how this version seemed to me, at the time, to have rooted itself in a more realistic medieval setting comparable to other Robin Hood films up to that point. To this day, I enjoy this fim probably more than any other Robin Hood related film ever made; though when Ridley Scott's version was initially released, in 2009, I had such high hopes for it. That particular one was even more grounded in realism, featuring historical events; such as how King Richard (instead of being the hero king that Robin stays loyal to, despite The Sheriff of Nottingham's attempts to rule England over him...like in countless other films and stories) died in the beginning of the film in the exact manner of his actual real death. But overall, and because of Alan Rickman's iconic performance, I still prefer this version of Robin Hood (complete with all it's flaws) over any other version ever made. That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.😊
alan rickman, the best
R.I.P Mr Alan Rickman.
He died of Cancer.
the way this scene is built is so perfect! You get some hope when Robin and his man fend off Notthingham's first wave and then you see that the second wave is ready with incendiary arrows and catapults and you realize that they are finished!
I wonder how much Kevin Costner was paid to have real flaming arrows shot at him?
That's some action-packed scene.
Costner knew how to deliver.
Best Robin movie ❤
Love how frier tuck protects the children
This had such a brilliant soundtrack to it!!
The most intense moment in the film
Noooo Fanny! I won't leave you! Love that bit
l was hoping that Azim after hearing the Celts chief shouting out he was going after him, a huge sword vs. a huge ax what a match if it happened that way.
That would’ve made for an awesome fight scene.
The film takes place in the year of 1199 A. D.
Time of when King Richard the 1st. The Lionheart is gone away at war.
The best
Actor Nick Brimble.
He was in BBC Narnia. The Silver Chair 1989.
A Kinght's Tale 2001.
5:40 most emotional moment of the clip
They just didn’t count on Nottingham and his men having their arrows dipped in pitch and they were set on fire to destroy the base of Robin Hood and his men
Kevin Costner did a good job in this film. But they really should’ve hired someone from the UK to play Robin Hood.
Sean Bean could’ve done it very well. Playing almost exclusively bad guys he can do the darkness and determination very well. It would’ve been nice to see him as a good guy for a change.
I love this movie, but I think that the time travel plot device was a bittoo much 😂
I’m surprised that this music isn’t part of the OST
Medieval Police-less Period.
No Constabulary either.
No Emergency Services to help you with situations back then!
Can you imagine that?
"Allah be merciful" im Christian but i always loved that line ❤️
Great
04:19 SAVE YOURSELVES 🤣
999.
Which Service do you require?
I hope Cate Blancett isn't in this one, please.
Assolutamente no è del 1991😊
She's in 2010 Robin Hood.
Die ersten Robin Hood Filme waren besser bzw. interessanter.
Robind !!
👌
Costner's acting was atrocious in this film. Thankfully, there were good performances around him and some of the cheesy, campy dialogue was fun.
xD !! GG!!
❤️👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
