It always bugged me that Costner never just said, Hey, I saved your son's life, maybe that's worth the toll to cross the river?
It bugged me even more that the kid was so eager to see his dad defeat the guy who saved his life.
@@47imagine if your dad beats the guy that beat up a few guards, would kind of mean your dad is awesome.
@@47imagine I could understand and respect the son siding with his father in the duel, I just don't like that the son (I think his name was Wulf), didn't even attempt to put a good word in for Robin Hood.
A roll is a roll and a toll is a toll if we don't get no tolls we don't eat no rolls
Unlike other Robin Hood’s, I can speak with an English accent.
that is men in tights the best Robin Hood.
loved this movie as a kid
This movie was never a kid.
@@johnmountainstone1177 xd
Same.
Popular films that were considered bad in the 90’s but hold up way better than anything made in the last 20 years.
I love this Robin Hood Film with Kevin Costner❤❤❤
"In my dreams alone have I imagined such a place" I love so much that line because I think it summarize pretty well the shock that all people that lived in hot and arid places when they first experience things like seeing the sea, a river in a forest or a snowy winter for the first time!
One of my all-time favourite films. When Geocities was a thing, I built a huge website about this film with every morsel of info about it you could think of. I actually went to the same school as one of the writers/producers (Pen Densham), although many years after he did. I exchanged a few emails with him a couple of years back and he sent me a free ebook he’d put together about writing a screenplay.
I probably came across that site at some point. The soundtrack is also top tier and incredibly memorable
This was the very best Robin Hood.
Men in tights
This movie sticks to the mythose of the real Robin Hood,on top of that the use of casting arrowheads and flaming arrows were also based on historical facts.
I loved it when i went to watch it..but now MEH I was young...It's in my garbage list...Dances is still in my keep
Errol Flynn
Nope the one with Russel Crowe was betta
The guy who can't swim, terrified of water, send him out to fight.
Best Robin Hood movie was with Errol Flynn in 1938. A masterpiece.
Michael Praed
I remember seeing this mess on a huge screen and all the time thinking “I wish we were watching the Errol Flynn film”. Morgan Freeman must have had a mortgage payment coming due.
Showing casting of arrowheads and flaming arrow's were a great addition to the movie.
Oh my God dude, I ABSOLUTELY L💜VE this movie! It was incredibly popular in the 1990's I was a small kid & Kevin Kostner was awesome! Great actor! Talented guy! I love his role here! This movie is severely underrated this day & age it depicts the brutality of medieval times across different classes it beautifully presents us with the epic story of Robin Hood and it has a bit of everything! Have to watch it again! Also Bryan Adam's musical scores just fit together perfectly for this movie I am just always amazed by this film!
Alan Rickman stole this movie from Costner.
One of the best villains of all time.
Just like Connery did in The Untouchables in 1987.
One of my all-time favorite movies and one of my all-time favorite scenes. This is probably the first fight scene that I ever fell in love with
Filmed at Aysgarth Falls in the Yorkshire Dales between Leyburn and Hawes.
Just visited the falls today, stunning place. Defo a beautiful place for a fan to visit .
You legend!! I was just about to ask this question.
Thankyou Chris! Every time I watch this scene I've always wanted to know where it was filmed so I could visit. Cheers!
i have such a good memories of this movie as a kid.
This movie smells like childhood... They dont make em like this no more
Good, cuz this movie was actually rather bollocks LOL
You know as they say, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. 😉
Watched the men in tights version. Algorithm knew what I wanted....
This was my favorite movie when I was very young. Still one of my favorites. But when I got older, I realized Costner was the only actor in the movie who didn’t even attempt to act with an English accent 🤣 He probably said “ Man F this English accent; I got more important things to do”.
Movie then goes to be the second highest grossing film of 1991
To me fair mate im glad he didnt, would of ruined it I think haha
Actually Christian Slater is also speaking in an American accent.
Such a brilliant movie, an amazing cast and shot in some stunning places!
Impressive English accent Kevin!
his accent is not English.
If only we all could settle our differences with a little water pole.
Will:There was a rich man from Nottingham who tried to cross the river what a dope he tripped over a rope now look at him shiver 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
beby be shiverings
Morgan Freeman is in this?! 😮
yes he was great in his role also.
No one who flails around screaming “I can’t swim” ever realizes they’re floating.
I love it ❤❤
This movie is special to me!
"Lost something? Thanks for the Taxes 😂😂"
The silliest thing about that was the fact that they didn't even bother to film a short flash or clip of Little removing the chain from Locksley before he tripped him over the cliff. Either that or John is like Harry Potter... he's a WIZARD! :D hahahah. In which case... why not just use telekinesis EARLIER?! And also, why not float OVER the water, ya lyin' "I can't swim" scallywag!! :D
@@Novastar.SaberCombatactually I'd like to assume that when John shoved him off the first cliff it may have fallen off and floated next to John where he grabbed it
John little vs John Dutton
"toss pots" hahaha
Genial ce film❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
"Ho! Ha ha! Guard! Turn! Parry! Dodge! Spin! Ha! Thrust!"
- Daffy Duck
mano a manoh!
I remember this scene completely different... They just fought over a small creek and at some point their sticks would break in half, again and again, until they are barely a foot long and then they'll be smacking each others hands with it until John get's one on the head and falls into the creek.
I'm confused....
"There was a rich man from Nottingham who tried to cross the river... What a dope; he tripped on a rope! Now look at him shiver!"
The ledge he got knocked off changed size three times and disappeared twice😂
The movie is from 1991, not 2010, like in description. 2010 vesrsion was with Russell Crow and directed by Ridley Scott.
No Rural Police.
Set in the year of 1199 A. D.
People had to try save themselves from danger.
Very Hard & even difficult period times of the very late 12th Century.
a classic indeed
I love that man Kevin Costner
Lol now put your feet down.
I love this movie.
Fun movie
The first motorcycle gang.
"Swimming time again old chum"
Yorkshire ❤️

Hey! That’s your father?! 😮
Boy grins and nods 😁
Yeah…?!😬
3:47
Any great ideas?!🤨
Get up! Move faster.🥸
Move faster… great idea.🙄
4:24
Robin be, like, „see?! I moved faster!“😃
Azeem be, like, „wow, you did what I told you… finally“😑
4:44
Azeem thinking, „he fucked it up again“🙄
Love that Humor.
❤️
classic
The worst the taron Egerton one looked too modern
SWIMMIN TIME AGAIN OLDE CHUM
Careful Kevin, in real life he is quite big.
"Fascinating"
That was never how it went with Neds/Chavs when I met them
I remember watching this when I was young and beautiful.. or only young to be honest. The scene at 5:05 - 5:18 always bugged me why would he search far away from where the body fell down. Granted this is a move for kids first and foremost , but how on earth could they make such a grave mistake in filming this.
For the scene at 5:05 - 5:18 he just wanted to check how deep was the water
This is by NO MEANS a movie for kids! This version had Robin of Locksley fighting in the crusades. And he almost got his hand chopped off! And aged as it is, I can see why some younger folk would think the movie is a bit silly, but it had a more serious tone for a Robin Hood film.
@lisardo plus the attempted rape scene at the end!
As another ytber has mentioned he was using the staff to see how deep the water was as he cant swim. He uses it to check the water depth on the higher level as well when he was walking away from robin.
I keep looking for Dave Chappelle.
Achoo.
Robin Hood with an American accent? Who thought that would be okay.
Yorkshire Woodlands.
Not even my sooord.
Costner didn't even put on a fake accent like Johnny Depp, and movie was still a hot!
Fake accents are horrible I'm glad he didn't.
Patrick began was not bad as robin hood he was realy good
روبن هود رجل الاحراش
Kevin Costner I got his arse whipped in this scene
You gotta respect a movie that has the stones to beat the crap out of their leading man. You don’t see that in movies these days.
@@danielbeckman6742 I tell ya Daniel this film is a 100 per cent than movies on our screen today pure and utter shite
Costner could not acutely speak an British accent thats why he spoke American
Robin was from Nottingham, not North Alaska
just cause you're losing your country doesnt mean you need to hate on a movie just cause the character doesnt have your preferred accent
@@Jeremy_the_unfallible_n-aright? Don’t you get tired of the complaining?
@@thegreatselkie6009
As you complain about a comment. 🤡
- Hát Robin of Locksley, kőkemény fickó vagy! Nagy gyere :)
xD
Rickman saved this movie. Costner was miscast. Some good scenes, but overall a real stinker.
Costner was great in this role,he got me interested in archery when i was ten years old, still love watching people cast arrowheads today.
A lot of rubbish things about this movie; e.g. Kevin Costner and Christian Slater’s American accents in a movie set in the early 13th century. The ‘Celts’ - stereotypical and historically inaccurate.
A lot of superb things about this movie; e.g. Brian Adams superb theme, the ‘Celts’ are pretty cool - despite being historically inaccurate. Kevin Costner delivers a good performance. Mike McShane as Friar Tuck. Alan Rickman as the Sheriff of Nottingham. Stunning location scenes. Morgan Freeman is brilliant.
Щ
Not so mutch Russell crowe did nothing for me
Arguably not even the best Robin Hood film that year.
This film hasn't aged well... and Costner's American accent while playing Robin Hood is just hilarious...
Little John was a bell-end
Outside of Costner I loved this film; but the Scott/Crowe 2010 was the best Robin Hood I’ve seen; my personal fav.
Costner’s accent and acting in this film nearly destroyed this film; but the scenery, and supporting actors made up for that faux pas.
Never bothered me
Makes no difference. The movie’s strength is the cast of characters, its scenery, and the film score. Highly underrated movie!!! It’s a classic
Nonsense. This film is quality
You just have to think of it as a movie not a documentary. Robin Hood wasn't even a real person just fiction.
Indeed. As bad as Costner is, that's how good the rest of the cast is. Especially Alan Rickman.
Costner AND Freeman, delivered their absolutely worst acting performance ever...
I embarrassing admit I thought this movie used to be good
Kevin Costner nearly ruined this film. Afwul performance...
its not his fault he isnt from England but still portrayed the best Robin Hood thats been on fiIm
@@Jeremy_the_unfallible_n-aI agree! This is my favorite version of this movie.
Mr Costner was terrible in this role. Not only that, he demanded a starting pay of 10 million. Far more than any of the other actors. This is the worst Robin Hood of them all.
Men in Tights is far superior.
This rubbish is worse than Brave Heart, and that is saying something.
You swine. They are both masterpieces.
Worst acting ever
One of the WORST Rogin Hood adaptations in film history.
Kevin Costner is the most boring person, his acting is like watching a dumpster on fire.
suddenly, Rip appeared, charging John and his band with a SUV...
Why is the middle eastern guy african black 😂
