For those who got caught up on the comment about being open minded towards MOS options: If you guys know definitively what you want, then make sure you get that job! However, for those who aren’t educated on MOSs, know that there are other cool jobs out there! We aren’t telling people who want to be infantry to be a cook just for the sake of an option 40 lol. Make sure you guys do your research on all options, obviously we want you to get the job you want attached with the contract you want.

One thing I disagree with is being open minded. Go for the job you want, don’t give up 2-6 years doing something you don’t want. I told my recruiter I wanted 68w and he tried insisting 68j. Told him I’ll come back everyday. Next 4 days he snatched 68w with airborne, ship out date is august 30th

You did it the right way. I joined the military in 2012 but I was too afraid to play hardball to get my dream MOS. He asked me to be open minded and I chose 3531 Motor Transport Operator. Hated the job and ended up getting out after four. Sometimes I wonder if I would still be in if I had made smarter choices.

Oh man, I’m nearing the end of the ADHD waiver process and I’m crossing all my fingers and toes it goes through. I started the waiver process in the autumn of 2019 so it’s coming up on 2 years of getting letters of recommendation, doctor’s notes, school transcripts, etc. Part of that wait time was waiting for me to be off Adderall for 24 months. So keep that in mind, anyone going a similar path, i had to wait to submit the packet until 24 months since I was last on Adderall. It could be different for other people based off of the type of medication and when you were prescribed, I know if you had it as a kid it may be more lenient. I had a prescription for 3 months when I was in college at 22 years old. Be prepared to wait and just always keep the mindset that it’s a marathon, not a sprint

It is important to understand that Ranger and SF are two different things. You have to want to be a Ranger to make it, Ranger is a good place to grow up, but it’s gonna kick your ass. You have to want it and can’t view it as a stepping stone. However, many start Ranger and go SF later, so it is an option, yes.

It's for stopping to get gas without permission while on home detention. Spur of the moment thing and I was suppose to have all stops planned out ahead with permission. D felony escape for making an unscheduled stop.

    • @TrainLikeaRanger

The only way to get it is to do it as a civilian. If you are planning on joining tell your recruiter you are looking to get an Option 40. Sometimes you may have to wait though because they are available sporadically. -Jay

Burnett needs to be straight up with these kids and tell the truth. Your experience was as a 13F it is not comparable to a mechanic in Regiment. You keep selling Regiment as its all what you experienced. Tell them why they are overstrength on 11B,13F and 68W and understength on everything else. Bet you won't make a video about that.

Will be happy to clarify on the confusion. Regardless of SOF, your MOS is the most important aspect of your military experience, so make sure you choose the job you want. I say this all the time. Not sure where you are getting your information on Regimental strength and weaknesses but they are always in demand for many things. That being said, you can also wait for the option 40 if you want, be persistent, get a 2nd and 3rd opinion to be sure, it’s your lives and your careers. If you get things in writing that is always the best option. However, it is important to understand both sides and know not every recruiter is lying when they can’t get you qualified for an option 40. This video is there to help get the recruiter’s side and understand common administrative difficulties, criteria, and limitations for the option 40. We explained many opinions on the subject to provide options for people. For anyone that has any confusion know I host live chats and I answer messages on platforms like Instagram. I also have connections with people in Regimental recruiting and military recruiting that I can refer them to. However, my company and I are not commissioned by the Army and have nothing to gain from anyone’s enlistment. We are just here to help!Hope that eases some confusion.

@@TrainLikeaRanger My info come straight from our regimental strength manager. I'm looking forward to your video where you elaborate on this because I'm tired of getting people coming in who think they are going to be doing line unit stuff and then shocked when they aren't. There needs to be more said about the difference.

@@JesusChrist2000BC I appreciate your concern for recruits. I am in contact with Regiment liaisons directly and when I address anything recruiting and military prep related I aim to be as transparent and honest as possible. If I don’t know an answer, I refer people to real recruiters and liaisons, yes Regimental, that can help. Again, our goal is always to help people, we would gain nothing from misleading anyone.
