What To Learn From Atheists and Christians?

  • Rabbi Yaron Reuven compares atheists and Christians, suggesting that both groups engage in forms of idolatry. Atheists worship themselves and their beliefs, while Christians believe in a savior and give money to religious leaders.
The rabbi argues that both approaches are dangerous and lead to trouble. He suggests that atheism may be even more dangerous within religious communities, as it can lurk within individuals who outwardly follow religious practices but do not truly believe. Ultimately, both Christianity and atheism are seen as threats to true faith.

Baruch HaShem! This is my third time listening to this video and our beloved Rabbi Yaron Reuven's library of wisdom and understanding. The rabbi brings us excellence and the beauty of our Torah. My friend, do not be in despair. Here is an answer for you from our Creator and Lord Our G-D!
Blow the trumpet / shofar, when a problem hits, then consider the past and do teshuva my friend.
      When you finish, follow
      Exodus 14:14 -18
14 The Lord will fight for you while you [only need to] keep silent and remain calm.”
15 The Lord said to Moses, “Why do you cry to Me? Tell the sons of Israel to move forward [toward the sea]. 16 As for you, lift up your staff and stretch out your hand over the sea and divide it, so that the sons of Israel may go through the middle of the sea on dry land. 17 As for Me, hear this: I will harden the hearts of the Egyptians, and they will go in [the sea] after them; and I will be glorified and honored through Pharaoh and all his army, and his war-chariots and his horsemen. 18 And the Egyptians shall know [without any doubt] and acknowledge that I am the Lord, when I am glorified and honored through Pharaoh, through his war-chariots and his charioteers.”
Shalom and may HaShem help you.

Atheists tend to believe that only a believer in a Creat-r owes an argument for their position. As if that Atheism is the default position. That’s not true. An Athiest owes an argument for his position just as much. When dealing with atheists ask them to present adequate reasons for their position. If they start dropping names like Dawkins and Hawking all you need to do is continue to question what they actually know about Dawkins and Hawking and what they said. You’ll find out quickly that very likely they haven’t read or understand any of the material these scientists present. Needless to say when you ask them how this applies to religion. Atheists think that when you hear the name Dawkins they just expect you to roll over and die!
Another common mistake is that scientists and/or atheists step out of their field of expertise. A scientist is not competent to form an opinion on religion. If you asked an athiest on how many books on theism they have read, how many can you expect them to have read? Maybe one, if that.
Commonly an athiest will stand behind the theory of evolution as their reason for not believing in a Creat-r. What they’re saying is that we arrived at our envelope of life today from a single cell that was able to make copies of itself. Fine. This process according to them was unguided, totally random and accidental. At this point you should ask them what is the estimated probability of life developing the way they said it did. From one cell to everything alive today. They don’t have one. You would have to take into consideration trillions upon trillions of determining factors for such an estimate.
If an athiest fails to present adequate reason for his position it still doesn’t follow that they now must believe in a Creat-r. They can be agnostics and read up on the religious position and the arguments they present. For which there’s plenty of material.
    Torah and science: Rabbi Mizrachi.
Rabbi Zamir Cohen: ‘Science comes of age.’
Rabbi David Gottlieb: ‘Reason to believe’ and many others.

According to Rambam in Hilchos Tshuvah, there are 5 different types of atheists. Interesting view, in his opinion, an atheist is not necessarily someone who doesn't believe in G-d. This was just an extra comment, but amazing shiur.
