  • In this critical Shiur by Rabbi Yaron Reuven, he discusses the dangers of pornography addiction and wasting seed, highlighting their moral and spiritual consequences. Drawing from religious texts, Rabbi Reuven explains that wasting seed is considered a grave sin, with roots in ancient teachings. He emphasizes that pornography addiction rewires the brain, creating unrealistic expectations and damaging relationships.
    The Shiur underscores the importance of modesty, self-control, and early education to combat these issues. Rabbi Reuven urges adherence to religious teachings, advocating for contentment with what Hashem provides and vigilance in guarding one's eyes to lead a righteous life.

    Born in Netanya, Israel, Rabbi Yaron Reuven began his American Dream as a little boy, when his family immigrated to the United States. He went from a newspaper boy at the age of 10, to a well-known self-made Wall Street multimillionaire by the age of 23. During his time in Wall Street, he owned his own private brokerage firm, a hedge fund, and an international insurance agency. He was featured on CNBC, Bloomberg and Chinese NDTV due to his success in the financial industry.
    At age 26 he faced a 7-year battle for his life when a simple surgery went wrong. From that moment his life would never be the same. This moment marked the start of a series of miraculous events and an exciting pursuit of truth, ultimately resulting in Rabbi Reuven renouncing his lofty position and success in Wall Street, after 16 years, to become a full-time KIRUV rabbi. His Teshuva story is sure to catch the heart of every listener.
    Rabbi Reuven’s shiurim are in English and Hebrew. I’ve never watched pornography, because my father told me when I was around thirteen “That’s some father’s daughter, and if you look at that, you’re shaming him, and her whole family.” It was good enough of a reason for me. I also have to say to his credit, that I NEVER got bad advice from him. To the contrary, I believe that, in this life, HaShem speaks to us, gives us counsel first and foremost through our parents; regardless of how old we are. My father and mother passed fifteen years ago, but I still follow the strictures that they laid down in my soul. It’s one way that I can continue to “honor your father and your mother!”

      That's actually a good way to look at it. Pornography is the debasement of humanity and family. It is utterly humiliating, both for the watcher (who acts like a cuck) and the family of the whore. Porn is pure evil.

    Along my journey as a baal teshuva, there have been 2 phases. Before and after overcoming this disgusting habbit. I grew up secular so I was taught its normal. NONSENSE. When you preserve your seed you have more energy and need less sleep, you exercise more, and have more mental vigor to learn torah. To succeed in the long run you have to stop looking because that's where it all starts. Even if you rationalize looking at women saying you wont come to release seed, the subconscious absorbs it and you will release seed in your sleep. Also say the tikkun haklali every day, this has led me to finally win this war.

      @Venezia fasted. confessed my sin to Hashem. Felt sincere shame and remorse and most importantly, I stopped doing it.
      Also started Guarding my eyes. Observing the laws of family purity. Wife started going to the mikvah and I started channeling my sex drive into marriage instead of wasting seed.
      Give tzedakah. Do more Chesed. Took on more mitzvot.
      Read Shaarei Teshuva by Rabbeinu Yonah. It will change your life. Follow what he says, it will help you overcome your yetzer hara.

    • @MrFleaFlea
      @MrFleaFlea Před 3 lety +1

      @Venezia I am a nobody. Don't learn from me. if you are serious about doing teshuva, study the the classical sources, the Tanach, the Talmud, Shaarei Teshuva all deal with the question of what to do when you stumble. Rabbi Reuven answers this question very nicely.
      If you are just a missionary using this as a hook, then go watch the videos of Tovia Singer, Michael Skobac etc. before you talk to me because I am not interested in wasting my time on that nonsense.

    • @MrFleaFlea
      @MrFleaFlea Před 3 lety

      @Venezia I do have an achilles hill. When I first started to do teshuva I used to stumble in this sin. I have a big yetzer hara for women. But don't get demoralised. You have to get up and try harder and harder.
      I know I have an achilles hill, so I take steps to guard myself and fence myself off from the things that can bring me to do this sin. Thank, God this approach works.
      If you guard your eyes. Guard your thoughts, keep focused on Hashem and Torah. Find a kosher outlet for your sex drive ie. marriage. You won't stumble. It gets a lot easier. Thank God, I haven't stumbled in this sin for a long, long time now. Because I fence myself off and guard against my "achilles hill"
      I have to becareful not to become negligent about guarding myself, because I can stumble in this sin very easlily in the future. But Thank God for now, I haven't.

      @Venezia once you stop with all the impurity, it actually gets a lot easier over time.
      When you cleanse yourself from all the impurity, you actually feel yourself becoming more pure and closer to Hashem. It's the most beautiful feeling.
      So even when your lusts incite against you, you reach a point where you don't want to act on it because the spiritual pleasure of being pure far outweighs the physical pleasure that comes with impurity.

    I also think this comes when someone gets closer to holiness, temptation increases, that’s what the yetser hara feeds from: kedusha. So the best way is to ask Hashem to bless is with his Shekhinah so that it remains always with us and guards us... and we should just increase studying the torah even more and temptation decreases. I’m trying this and it works... and also diet plays an important role, of course kosher is important but when we are tempted let’s eat like Daniel, it transforms us from inner out. Baruch Hashem anyone feels strengthened by my testimony and may G-d bless the Rav for his teachings.
