    Bought the 261 C in confidence because of your video. Thanks for this. I used it the whole afternoon and it ran as per my expectations, somewhat set by your video. Thank you so much!

    Good basic info for anyone who has never run a chainsaw. I was more interested in the saw performance, however. Well done. I learned long ago to always use a thick pair of pants, and NEVER have your trigger finger in a position where you have trouble releasing the gas ASAP. It can happen, but do not do it. Also be very careful about kickback, especially if cutting limbs head level. You gotta keep distance between your head/neck area and the chain. If the juggler is cut, you are dead.

"Due to the current difficult situation we all face, STIHL like many other businesses has faced unpredictable and unprecedented sales, along with major delays from overseas shipping. This is very frustrating for us as a business and you as a consumer and we are doing everything possible to get stock from our overseas suppliers".

    • @Carlsmower
      @Carlsmower  Před 4 lety

      Increase or Decrease the amount of oil distributed to the bar and chain. Certain woods or bar sizes would require an adjustment that could save you some oil usage.

    I hear that their is a winter/summer plastic air tab inside the cover ?!? Can you explain this ?

    • @Carlsmower
      @Carlsmower  Před 2 lety +2

      When in winter mode (indicated by a snow flake) additional heat from the engine is allowed into the air box reducing the chance of the carb icing up. Stihl says anytime the temp is below 40°. I have had guys consistently cutting below 35° without the shutter open and not have a problem. My concern is when you fail to switch back and you roast the saw.

  • @panayiotispanayides2141

    I did fancy one of these, but after reading many of the problems people were having, I decided not to bother. The problems were all similar and yet Stihl has been pushing out this machine with no fixes. I have Stihl equipment, I'll just stay with my MS180 thx. People should read up on this before they spend their money.

    • @Carlsmower
      @Carlsmower  Před 3 lety

      We have sold hundreds of the MS261CM chainsaws and I can say our customers are pleased! The only real complaint I have heard is hard start when hot, I have found that letting the saw idle for 5-10 seconds prior to shutting it off. It seems as though if shut off right after a cut the brains are still in high speed.

      @@Carlsmower That's fair enough, I am going by the many issues people have posted on the net, they can't all be wrong. Seems the 'Mtronic' is what causes most of their issues with not restarting or dying whilst cutting. As I said I have Stihl equipment and was disappointed to read this stuff and it has put me off.

    • @Carlsmower
      @Carlsmower  Před 3 lety

      That’s where the idle down comes into play. It allows the M-Tronic to recalibrate.

    • @Odessa45
      @Odessa45 Před 3 lety +1

      You're thinking about the MS261CM. The MS261 is a different machine. It doesn't have all the electronics on it. The 261CM is the model to avoid.
      I bought the plain 'ol MS261 specifically because it isn't burdened with "modern" electronics. Runs like a charm
