It was great to meet you all (Tyler, Demi & Nick, as well as Shad) at the Sydney 4x4 Show yesterday (Sat). The 80 looks awesome in person. 👍 Nick's comments continues to crack me up - Eyemometer 🤣
It's easier if you undo the radius arm bolts and not the nuts. The nuts have 2 raised nipples that lock into the bracket making them a locknut.

Hot tip for when you get new rims in chrome/polished get just a thick layer of clear coat on them, then ceramic coat
Must be wheel aligned afterwards Tyler no ifs or butts mate. Will definitely scrub tyres if you go by measuring alone.

G'day guys, wow the Cruiser looks awesome... I prefer black wheels on a white vehicle, but the bling these wheels give do look awesome. Nice lift. The GQ's and 80 series 4wds are IMO the cream of the crop. You have created some nice 4wds. Well done !!! 👍.

Lets see the swerve and brake tests when fully loaded as per usual Engineering tests, that would be a good video.
He did it with the gu, same car, same suspension.....

panhard bar you measure from tire or wheel or whatevers easy to the frame on each side and adjust until both sides are the same and the axle is centered
If I remember right, on those cruisers you undo the bolt and not the nut. Nuts tend to grab coz the have teeth on em. (I think) 😅

Moog (Mighty car Mods) calls cordless impact guns dak daks (dack dacks?). He grew up on a cattle station. He once asked his Mom for advice, and she told him to use a dak dak and just send it! You guys have some imaginative slang lol.
Well yeah, it's not quite a full ugga dugga, so dak dak makes sense.
at 25:04 the red dot on tyre should be at the valve location, its the indicator for lightest part of tyre

On another note seems like install went heaps quicker on the 80 compared to the gu, Toyota easier to work on

You know that the nuts on the radius arms shouldn’t be undone, the bolt side should be undone as the nut has teeth that bite into chassis mounts 😉
The 80 is the best looking cruiser imho, ahead of the current Prado. Good on ya for finally getting a proper fourby 😆
Undo the bolt on the radius arms. Not the nut. The nuts have little raised bumps to lock them in. Thats why they were so hard to undo

I wish you could mod trucks like we can in the USA and be road legal, and I wish we have your diesels 🤣 that being said I’ve got 35s on my 80 I’m about to go to 37s or 39s haven’t decided it gets up and goes just like stock with a set of 5.29 gears lol
What lift did you choose to run 37s? I'm looking into that project but with the videos I've seen the lifts are a mixture of different kits.

YET another Sunday morning ritual of maccas breakfast and a great TT vid.
THANK GOD the qualified mechanic is present to go over and ensure you had all the proper parts and furthermore, to ensure you guys have your 💩 together and in order...as was starting to worry for a sec when she wasn't around.. 😁
I noticed that the most critical parts were specifically designated to the qualified mechanic at 25:00 with the torque tightening of nuts..and the touching up the rims. 😁
Oh at 15:00...heres boofhead squezzed up under the four-wheel drive with no room whatsoever trying to fit the bars to then 15 seconds later at 15:15, heres TT talking exactly about the situation of confined spaces where if you don't have a hoist at home this this is how you do it..ALL whilst looking over your right shoulder to see there is 2 brand new red things namely - car ramps that someones forgotten about 😊😁😂 haha

Good stuff Gentlemen, Off the track query....When you do mods like this, especially DIY style...do you have to get the vehicle certified afterwards from some kind of a regulatory body? Planning on moving to Australia latter part of the year, I too work on my rigs both 4x4 and enduro bikes. Where I am now, we get pulled over for having heavy mods...even lifts, larger wheels and things like bull bars, auxiliary lighting like spotties, lightbars are frowned upon
Cheers mate. All mods have to be within the guidelines of the modification laws of the state you live in within Australia. All this information is online, there are certain things you have to have a professional do but a lot of things can be DIY.

Wouldn't been better to do the wheel align when new wheels fitted ? What about the balancing of the new wheels ?
As far as I am aware it doesn't make a difference doing the alignment with or without wheels.
We don't balance the dirty life wheels, I find they drive pretty nice as is
What size spacer did you use in the beadlock ring?
I just asked dynamic wheel co to send the matching spacer, not too sure on its thickness

As there is no real point in 3" lift, 35"tyres or beadlocks, for school runs & shopping, you should have left it 2", 33"" to show that you can do 99% of tracks without $15 - $20k worth of suspension & wheels/tyres
Yeah but sponsors want you to show off their flagship gear, not the every day boring stuff (that makes up like 90% of their sales). I would have liked to see it as more of a "budget" build too.
We just do what we want to do really, what keeps us happy and enjoying the cars we build and content we make.
I get that@@TylerThompson90 & evemtually I could see it being built to this standard, but I think it would have been nice to see

I haven't balanced the wheels on any of my 4wds, I find they drive quite nice as is. No wobbles or anything
Demi's face tells me this wasn't a we decision as she already has trouble getting into the cruiser as it is 😂😂😂😂
How much is the 3” kit from superior ? Did you have to pay looking at getting one
3 inch hyper flex kit with remote shocks and all the arms etc is like 7K
After watching all your videos, is the patrol or 80 better for heavy Offroad and reliability?

@@Moretrailsmorecamping I own both, 80 is the better offroad vehicle and the GU is the better road/towing vehicle. But, that's in modified form.
In stock form, lift and tyres only, you get more for your money, with a GU, especially while these utubians are running up 80 prices with these sponsor paid for builds.
I think 305's would have been much better for a daily driver Mall Crawler.. 35's RIP the power and fuel economy about. Wouldn't need the Engineering hassle either. Seriously they all look the same after a while.
Splitting hairs mate, 305 and 315 pretty much the same
He's got to get it engineered for the 3" lift anyway, so it isn't that much more hassle.
@@jarrod1687 You can fit 305/70R16's legally on an 80-series without needing engineering , where was 315/70R16s would normally need engineering to be legal. Tyler has to get it engineered for the 3" lift anyway, so it's not as big an issue, but if you were just going with a 2" lift, 305's would be the way to go from a legal standpoint.
