My favorite team was Adel, Clive, and Renault in the front going all "Riders of Rohan!" and buffing each other while Monica's in the back like "Ugh, boys."

Travis+Bruno were always fun for me, and I kept them together until the end of the game just because of the potential for switching characters around like you recommended. Stick Travis's sister with the group as well... and you always have two people who can survive an attack in the front row towards the end of the game. Getting the group back together again was a very fun thing, and knowing that, at end-game, they stayed together... that was a great feeling. I know the game doesn't have the *best* story, but some of the character interactions were a lot of fun, if you were willing to look for them.

The formula is simple early on:
    1. evade tank front
    2. backline that can row, multihit or column nuke
    3. have at least 1 unit that have a looping skill (knight, warrior, sellsword, etc)

I found sellsword with paladin or hunter really good synergy since pursuit activates on counter attack

@@EEEEEEEEEEEEEEE737 sellsword counter attack tactic is great early on though of course theres some better tactics like pursuit or row/column nuke strats. This is because counters rely on guard tanking which is generally inferior to evade tanking.

For ranged assists it tells you the calculations when you select 'x' on the unit detail page when you hover over the unit. The main damage comes from the party leader and then scales based on the number of same type range assist units you have.

It's funny how easy it seems to be to miss. I've seen a few CZcamsrs talk about Reddit or their communities running tests to figure out the damage. I'll admit on release day, I just happened to misclick the X and saw it. Otherwise, I'm not sure I would have noticed the message on my own.

Heavy disagree on any team built around assists. There is exactly one defend map in the game where enemies come to you and you don't need to go to them to win. This means you have to move the team of archers into and out of position along with your main squads.
Movement is the most crucial stat at the strategic level and assist teams are generally non mounted. For context, in the early game where rushing renown and valor is key, time bonuses for completing maps can really snowball and be the difference in when you reach the required rank to promote units. Tl;Dr if you aren't using cav leaders (and by definition not assist leaders) you are throwing.
The towers themselves are problematic. Chances are if you make it far enough to claim a tower. There are not nearly enough things around to shoot at within range anyway.
All of these problems are compounded on true zenoiran difficulty because deploying a squad period is more expensive since valor points gains are heavily reduced. You are far better just deploying 3-4 squads (for me n-1, where n is the number of points you start with and the minus 1 leaves you with one point for a griffin to boost your move speed). Deploying a slow, weak combat team just to reroll RNG doesn't seem optimal.
    Great vid nonetheless.

Can you slow down on spamming out random shit videos. It’s unbearable that CZcams keep recommending your crap even tho I tried to tell ‘em to stop.
