    People out there always change power steering fluid every 2 years, the old fluid has metal shavings that damage the rubber seal and that over time causes the leaks.

    I had the same issue and I’ve replaced the power steering pump, along with the alternator and air-conditioning compressor, belts and tensioner, which is basically everything on the poly-belt side. And after that, I got the same problem again lmao.
    Now I ordered new powersteerimg pump again, with new reservoir and high pressure pipes connected with the pump. I wish I can see some improvements from my previous repair lol

      Perhaps there is a problem in the steering rack or the high pressure hose is to blame. I hope this helps

      Tony Shel well ironically, there isn’t any leakage of oil from the pipe nor racks either 🧐 But yeah hopefully I wish it is cuz of the hose lol
      Thx for ur help😁

      @@jsl9294 I read somewhere that some valves might get stuck in the tubes. Because of this, the steering system may be malfunctioning. I don't know if this is true)

      @@jsl9294 Joo, I have the saaame issue, I'm researching , the noise I have is like a grinder when I first start the car, and when I move the steering it gets 10times worst. But after 10 or 15 minutes driving and the engine is hot it almost disapear. I believe is some bearing but....I don't know, maybe the teeths inside the pump.... I fear to replace the pump and don't solve the problem. Also.. is the same pump for 3.2jts or the diesels? any brand advice? (prices are very different) REGARDS, please keep in touch

    So you dont show how to get to or replace the E12 machine screw on the front of the block, just made difficult by the engine mount.

    Mine buzzes when the fluid is low (I have a leak) , very sensitive to this, even a very small amount of fluid missing and it buzzes like a donky. With fluid to the max no problems or noise.

      @tonyshel7672  Před 3 lety

      Yes, the Alpha is fluid level sensitive like no other machine.

    Hi just wondering many hours does it take to do the job? Does one need to drain the system? A mechanic told me there was a recall for a fault of this system and therefore you have to also replace the hydraulic fluid. I that correct?

    • @tonyshel7672
      @tonyshel7672  Před 3 lety +1

      It took 1.5-2 hours to remove / install the pump. It is better to drain the liquid to the maximum so as not to stain the engine compartment.

    Any clues on how to tension the belt? I haven't removed my pump yet but the official workshop manual makes it look very complicated.

    • @tonyshel7672
      @tonyshel7672  Před 3 lety

      I forged the belt with a screwdriver, and my partner turned the wheel to turn the flywheel. The strap stretches a little, so don't be afraid to tear it.

    My pump doesn’t make any noise, but sometimes the power steering doesn’t work at low revs / on idle. Really tuff when parking. Could it be the pump anyway, or more likely something else?

    • @tonyshel7672
      @tonyshel7672  Před 3 lety +1

      Most likely the pump will break soon. Better to fix it, in my country it's not expensive, I don't know how much it will cost in your country)
