- HOW TO PREPARE SOFT YAM FUFU recipe - Easy and hassle free method (POUNDED YAM) - Ndudu by Fafa
'Yam', is a tuberous root vegetable, which is synonymous but not exclusive to Africa. There are over 600 varieties, of which 95% are cultivated in Africa.
In parts of America and Canada 'sweet potatoes' are referred to as 'Yams' , however that's not the case , as the similarity ends with both been a tuberous root vegetable and cooked the same way; they differ in taste and texture.
My first experience of eating Yam Fufu was in Togo as a child. The silky and smooth texture coupled with the aromatic Goat Meat light soup has inspired this recipe.
Watch the Chop Bar Beef recipe below for that aromatic flavour,

I made this recipe for the first time today, amazing!
Thank you for trying the recipe and feedback. Much appreciated 😘😘
I've only read about fufu in the novel "Things Fall Apart" where it is paired with red palm oil. I found the palm oil in my local store's health food section and I felt like I had to try making fufu, without knowing what it looks or tastes like. Thank you for this video. I knew from the novel that it is a labor intensive food, but now I know it's also to be made right before serving, what it should look and feel like, and what I can serve it with. I am so grateful for your in depth description and your personal warmth. I know my nephew will be reading "Things Fall Apart" next year in school and I'll share this with my sister so he can have a more full understanding of what fufu is.
Yam Souffle? I'm scared of you now. Its just yam but see the many beautiful dishes you've made with yam. I hail you

Oh forgive me this digression, .... but i seek out pictures of you online...for fashion goals 🙈🤩😍 Thank you for sharing the cooking techniques. Love them very much too.
Thank you for sharing. I saw another video that used a stand mixer ir hand mixer (kitchenaid style ) to mix the yam after boiling and it was alot less stirring as the mixer did all the work, perhaps that would be another alternative.
At least you’re spoilt for choice 😘😘
Now you are the creative channel, l fermented beans and mixed with my banku mix and it was a delicious fufu and then l used the same mixture to fry Jamaican dumpling it was delicious half the calories and more proteins so l use less meat. Please try it and do a video for us.
Can use fermented whole wheat cornmeal.
In the Eweland we have something similar which I’ve covered 👉🏾czcams.com/video/5ZBdHVnT5fY/video.html

You're gorgeous 😍❤️
You are gorgeous!😍😍😍
What type of yam is it ? Cassava/Yuca?? .. I’m def going to checkout your blog because all those yam dishes look yummy 😋. Thank s for sharing!
That’s a good question 🧐 you’ll have to ask the grocer to choose an older yam.
@MilkyWay Tarot in the US go to African or Caribbean or Asian ethic food store and ask for Puna yam (ghana) or white yam (south American) they both are best available in US for west African dishes (don't use yucca or cassava).
It looks like white yam
I made this and it was delicious 😋! Thanks again.
Where did u get your calabash bowls.
From Ghana ❤️❤️
my daughter has a project to do for mali and i saw that this was a dish done there. however watching this video you advise it to be done close to time to serve but she won't be able to. Is there any other way to have it done but taken to school to show and for the judges to sample
For that soft and pliable consistency it will be best to mix it with blended Cassava.
@@NdudubyFafa so she can still make them the night before to use for her project the next day or should I find another dish
This looks the easiest of all the ways I've seen
Thank you gorgeous 😘
