it should export the location to the textures to, but you will probably have to re-connect them in the game engine or the software you are exporting to.

usually when I export to FBX its because i am going to send it to another 3d package like Blender, or Unity.

........You may not export an FBX file with more than 100,000 polygons. Please choose objects which have a combined polygon count of less than 100,000 and export again.........

Hello Ramzeen! Sorry to hear that, you can try making sure you updated windows and your graphic drivers and if that doesn't work try reinstalling the Maya. Let me know if it helps.

The OBJ and FBX formats arent available in the export option even after i make them available from the plug in manager, what the hell is going on....

Try saving it as default and restart Maya, if this doesn't work, ( I hate to say it) you could try reinstalling Maya.

It worked after i closed and reopened Maya, the animation loaded perfectly, however, whenever i export as fbx and import it anywhere else the 3D object has missing parts, if i export it without the animation it imports perfectly... any ideas why ?

A similar problem I had this week, I was exporting fbx without freezing transformations on objects. Try that, I am curious what is causing your problem.
