- Kirisame is a tier7 IJN Destroyer that is only available as a super prize from crate drops, therefore this is not a ship review, but rather an explanation of how much the various hulls can change this ship, to help you know what you may be up against.
Kirisame can be played with a hybrid hull (Hull A), a torpedo Hull (Hull B, or an artillery hull (Hull C). Shes dangerous in any form, but I see two of the hulls as more deadly. Check out this gameplay to see how she is in game.

Totally agree Lukas, but wonder if its a bad business proposition for WG....one ship that can be 3 ships at the same time. Maybe thats why they dont do it often

Perhaps this is how WG will shake up an overall stale game. This multi-hull option is something not unfamiliar in the PC version I believe, and could add an additional element of customization to individual ships as well as tech tree lines if it were implemented across more boats. Always love the reviews Derka. Appreciate your dedication to keeping us informed.
Hey NP! I too love the idea of multi hull ships, but I wonder if WG loves the idea...after all this ship could replace 3 tier 7 premiums in someone's port. And all for the price of one 😆 maybe not the best business practice for WG
Kirisame is basically an HSF Harekaze without the highschool fleet anime collaboration

Yeah, this has a lot of potential. Just feel very, very, but very lucky if you get one. Having fun replaying some ships I haven't played awhile and remembering why I don't play them that much...

Hopefully Wargaming is using this boat as a test with plans to introduce more variety. Everyone seems to have the same ship builds.
I love this concept! Man if this were the only T7 prem DD I ever got I'd be happy, you can play it so many different ways and still wreck face
The thing with Kirisame is... you don't really know if you're going against a Friesland-level gunboat, or amputated Akizuki, or just a Kagero. I think they overdo this one, making it so complicated. But hey, at least it is somewhat worthy of being superprize😉
Lol yeah it's interesting, but now as soon as you spot them you should be able to tell what you're up against by checking out the gun configuration
Definitely a very cool destroyer even since it is a superprize because it can suit many different destroyer players. Myself I am more into the American quick firing multiple turrets with decent torps so will definitely chose that base if I can get lucky!

I got her from the Santa lvl 5 crate, I wanted to see how good she is and I didn't realize how rare and powerful she is. Happy to have gotten her :3

Went a little ham this past Christmas with the super Santa crates... And got Kirisame in and drop. She was fun as a gunboat during the t7 arena, but that was a gamble. A few times I had the torp hull equipped expecting to go against BBs and cruisers, only to find myself in all DD solo matches. In standard play, I find the torp hull to be the most devastating overall, esp when you have cruisers who will support you when spotting enemy DDs. The long range torps are just devistating
They are pretty nasty indeed. and the AP on the 100mm guns are pretty good still
@@DerkaGames Playing her a lot lately and have come to like the stock hull a the most. The improved 127mm guns with a full concealment build, she's nasty.

The most viable option is Hull B:
6xAkizuki guns, still fairly fast reload time, just load AP and the DD threat is neutralised.
Longest range deep water torpedoes in game.
Commander: Gunzo Chiaya
For the best torpedo reload time. Probably way under 1 minute. ~45 seconds, just like Yüdachi.
Inspirations:
AL Atago for even better torpedo concealment. (-200m, reaction time will be comically low, ~3 seconds, but be careful launching them around planes. Planes still detecting deep water torps... Hopefully a fix coming soon.)
Space fishy for extra torpedo speed or Bey for extra concealment.
Hull A:
At T7 good luck with that low HP pool, 3 guns and mediocre torpedoes. Fletcher, Black, Loyang, Hsienyang is out there with more of those same guns with the same reload speeds.
This hull is simply outgunned by the rest of the competition and enjoy hitting BBs for 3x327dmg at every salvo with a low fire chance.
Hull C:
Not even worth thinking about it. A full gunboat with useless torpedoes and that low HP pool... Hayate is there if someone enjoys punishing him/her-self and at least those torps are usable. Yes i know there is 1 tier difference but hey-ho. Or just play Friesland or Somers instead.
So in my opinion the stats for the ship (HP pool, manoeuvrability and concealment) makes Hull B the best choice.
/Side note: the container ship drops are going in an order from top to bottom from the list provided on the drop rate website. So if you trigger a super prize you will always recieve the upmost ship from the list which you don't have. So it's like the Shinonome from the Super V crate. If you have all Super Prize ships you have a miniscule chance to get her./

Hull A fire chance is actually 9% stock lol, But yeah the torps might be too insane to ignore. Personally, I don't like torp builds tho so I might just stick with Hull A. Got my reload down to 1.8 seconds, and torps still viable. 2nd best fire starter behind Friesland. Fun Bote!

shinonome made my jaw drop when I got her out of a super V crate but for some reason I still can't get that dang Cali. The ship sounds so fun and I would love to have it but the price tag and RNG are probably too high

@@DerkaGames honestly I don't have many games in her. But you can get that concealment waaaaaay down and have decent, fast reloading 8km torps. Great rudder shift. But honestly, it's pretty similar the Japanese DDs at the tier already.
Ran into the torp boat model today. Man this thing is busted. He nearly carried his team. 20k dmg torpedoes and no reaction time is so broken

Take the torps hull, use Sano with Space fishy inspiration. Nothing is going to dodge those torps and you will land a bunch more consistently due to the speed and time to target.
Solid build, I used fishy and AL atago personally haha. Torps become undodgeable 😆

Very much dislike that they have locked what seems to be a very good ship behind a ridiculous paywall. CC’s will give reviews and, despite all of your suggestions to the contrary, people will spend boatloads of money to pull this ship. Not your fault to demo it and, to be honest, I for one appreciate the breakdown as it’ll help to face it… it’s just a shame that the by-product will be that people will whale for it. Horrible practice by WG - locking old, powerful ships behind the crate system is one thing, but this is considerably worse.
I absolutely don't want people whaling for this...but understand people will likely do so regardless
