- How to install a Reverse LED Light on your Polaris Ranger. This specific model is compatible with a 2018-2022 Polaris Ranger XP 1000. They do not fit Northstar editions. I had to DIY it on myself on my 2022 Northstar. It turned out great. My side by side didn't come with a back up light, it's pretty dark out here on my farm and I didn't want to hit a car or tree or animal while backing up at night. This LED is extremely bright.

I want to add a backup light to my 23 Polaris Ranger 570SP but everywhere I have read and the dealer says they have done away with the pigtail for the backup light or beeper on the 23 model. Bummer because I really want one that comes on automatically like yours does.

Crawl under there and double check, should be back left side.
Your new light looks to be in the way now to dump the box, since you attached it to the box, wouldn't the frame a little further in be a better spot that way it would never move? Also you have current going to the light and it is glowing at least it did before and after having it in reverse, not sure if it is because your lights were on , and were not during the initial test

Not sure. Check the back for a plug.
So My question is what was that small white plug going to? I have one that is the same and stays on no mater what gear I'm in. Think its a grounding problem so I bought a relay harness but didn't help.
Not sure, don't have a wire diagram. I'm sure if you look online or call up Polaris, they can look into that for you.
That white plug goes to the optional license plate light.

Does it only turn on when in reverse?
Yeah. I think it has a small halo when you turn on the utv. But not that bright until in reverse.
@@NicholsCounty does the halo shut off completely when the machine is off. I have heard some of these reverse lights stay lit and drain the battery. Any issues with that at all?
@@acreageliving Yes. I've never had a dead battery at all with this side by side.
