Russ has been getting disrespected so much by people who don’t know what he did in his prime
Can't run off past accomplishments for the rest of your life 🤷♂️
Prime Russ was unstoppable your right
No one hating on prime, we hating on current russ
So you embrace being a Hater. Got it 👌
@@sergiophysique8940current Russ on the clippers is ok so
You can easily criticize him, but averaging a triple double in the NBA isn't an easy feat
And for 4 seasons
It is when you can see his teammates stat pat him multiple times and there’s been breakdown videos throughout his multiple triple double seasons.
@@crypto40 I bet Luka is your favorite player.
Facts... especially for rebounds and assist they have to make the shot 😮
He stat padded those 4 seasons too
I hate how Russ is gettin all this hate. This man was a beast. And have to say, an absolute worker. Yes, he can miss a lot, but he surely will give his 100% in every game. I really don't get the hate to a person that has never been involved in something bad, looks like a family man and play at his maximum level every day (even if he fails, I know)
People are phony, fake, and two faced. And they see nothing wrong with it which is the worst part.
he gets hate because he cant adapt, not because hes a bad player. he got traded to the lakers and literally couldnt set up any play, no screens, no pull up jumpers, no cutting, skills that even bad role players have. He had an entire year to change his style but still couldnt hit 3s
because it's not a morality contest or a participation/effort contest. it's about who can win. I agree the personal criticism is crazy and people go overboard. but at the end of the day no one wants a stat padder that doesn't play a winning style, much like James harden. professional criticism is warranted.
@@sugarblue7571^^^
He only goes hard when he has the ball, or going for rebounds lmao. That's not going 100%. If he doesnt have the ball he's just standing there
It’s sort of wild to think it’s gonna be 7 years since Russ’ MVP season. One of my favorite player seasons ever.
i'm very new in NBA but isn't unfair how they blame him for not deliver the championship despite the effort he put, even said in a match when he wasn't playing that the team bad performance thanks to him (he said in deferent way but same point)
Prime Russell Westbrook is a beast! His athleticism is unmatched, and he gets disrespected a lot. I did have some doubts about him in the Clippers after the Lakers incident, but he proved me wrong by dominating like he’s back in his prime years.
😂😂😂
Unmatched? DRose. Dressbrick has always been a 0 BBIQ loser.
That's the problem, when his athleticism lost because of age he doesn't have anything left on his bag . If he spent 1.5M/year for physical conditioning like LeBron did...
True he's doing great in the clippers and he can shoot better.
People forget how explosive he is and can give a triple double on any given night. I miss the prime version of him
Yeah but those triple doubles didn’t translate into wins in the playoffs
@@alvarojavier6274true but you would be suprised to find out any gsme where he did have a amazing triple double game his co star had a rough game example Utah game 5 I believe he has liek 44 11 11 and Paul George couldn’t make a shot
@@EventsO2535 sounds like Playoff P, either way Russ was so good in his prime but his gameplay wasn’t suit for championships, just for regular season
@@alvarojavier6274i honestly beg to differ. It was the teams construction that was bad and the injuries of really important players that fucked russ and kd over. Even with pg and russ, Andre roberson was their 2nd anchor on defense. Apart from kd/pg (before ibaka became a stretch big), there weren't too many good shooters on that team after harden left. The winning never came because of genuine bad luck that everyone conveniently forget. Yes he choked a lot before but that was before his true prime and and mvp seasons. It's not him not being a winning player, it's just harder to build a winning team around a guard that doesn't really shoot that well + coach that just let the entire scheme be russ gets ball, russ gives ball or dunks ball
Nobody forgot anything that shit was only a few years ago, he's insanely overrated people are just slow to realize this
people forget how good Russell Westbrook is
People are stupid and noobs. They got nothing better to do than bash others and have followers that do the same.
U can say all u want about him , that he is athletic and everything , but as long as he gets the ball and holds it for 90% of the time and doesnt pass to his team mates , he is a bum in my eyes , cuz I know what it feels like to only give the ball to one player that keeps the ball all the time
@@hardworkpaysoff4206 "doesnt pass to his teammates" brother, a lot of mfs had some of their best seasons when they played with him. god, bradley beal looked like allen iverson in their season together. russ needs to play with threat, mfs that will score when he passes, not some bums that gonna complain they didnt play enough. joker can do that, i'll give you that, but pretending that he couldnt kill with a decent team is crazy talk.
@@deyzunasbunker I've seen a good amount of his games, and it isnt all the time that he passes at the last second , but as Nonstop said , most of his passes were like that hence how he got as many assists , no hate on Westbrook tho , I cant hate on somebody that is way better than me and can kill me in the court , I just dont like his playstyle , maybe cuz I had a team mate like him..🤷🏻
*was
People forget how unstoppable russ was in 2014-15 when KD went down, I watched damn near every game that season and once russ got back from his hand injury, it was on a whole nother level, he was doing things where I was like wtf, this is literally like playing 2k, i remember watching that 76ers game, when he went coast to coast pass ish smith and dunk that MFer but even before that, he started the game so hot he was hitting jumper after jumper and had a couple heat check 3’s, I was amazed i never seen anything like it, it was almost as if the 76ers was damn near shut down by just 1 player that game, and russ would do that to almost every team that year, he was unstoppable
7:53 the claim that Russ never made his teammates better is a inaccurate statement. PG had his most efficient and highest scoring season with Russ, harden had his highest scoring year with Russ in Houston, and finally Bradley Beal had his best year in Washington with Russ. It’s so simple to look at the stats from those years and see how much he added
Even KD won a scoring title with Russ.
@@sphynxeastwood7881KD won 2 rings without him. Westbrick hasn't even won 2 playoff series without him lmao.
@@genikhairav7662he joined the team with the best record in NBA history thats why lol KD hasn’t sniffed another ring since leaving the Warriors
@@genikhairav7662 with a team that has won before and after him
@@sphynxeastwood7881 You seriously believe the warriors were gonna beat the 2017 Cavs and 2018 Rockets without KD? Even Draymond himself admitted they wouldn't have won without KD
Whilst he didnt get the success he would have wanted, the man played with his heart on his sleeves and gave 100%.
His back to back triple double campaign was just inhuman!!💯💯💯
Prime Russ was a beast hope he can win a ring one day
You realize Paul George and Bradley Beal had their best seasons ever with Westbrook as their teammate?
Though his rebounding was slightly artificially inflated, there's a good reason why he gets the board.
It helps push in transition faster, and he's the best passer on his team, plus it gives everyone else the chance to set up.
It also prevents the fastest player on the court to get down to beat the defense down to the other end for easy outlet passes and baskets.
The ball travels faster by air bro. It's better to give the outlet. It's better he runs and gets the pass half court with speed . That's a basic basketball principal
@@MindfulAttraction2.0 there's a yt video explaining what I'm talking about bro...
@@yoofij4724 That YT video is wrong just like you bro.
@@bluelivesmurder5696 okay that's funny. But don't be simple. Nobody likes a simpleton. Try and understand
One of the greatest to ever set foot on the court top 50 all time. He is top 20 in my books and I wont make any apologies I hope Russ sees this comment section and all the love hes getting. He is a truly incredible talent.
Facts he a 🐐
@MikeJohnson-kg4jb Yes he is and say it loud brother! Nothing gets your blood pumping like a Russ fastbreak. This is not even to touch on the MILLIONS of dollars he donates to this day to the Oklahoma community even though he gets nothing but hate.
And russ is an amazing and dedicated father
He is one of the best to ever do it and I'm so glad to see so many in agreement
Top 20? Of all time ? Oof
Top 20 at making horrible decisions when the game was on the line?
@@revjim77 whatever you say boss
That 3-1 comeback definitely changed the entire NBA, Russ and Kd about to make history by beating 4-1 the legendary 73 wins team. After that his legacy changed forever.
Just about the best prime anyone’s ever seen
Not even close😂 he didn’t win a ring in his prime like others before him. Not hating on Russ just this comment is really stupid when you look at the bigger picture
he was inefficient and the only reason his stats looked so good is because he had the ball the whole game and he shot chucked
his prime ain’t even top 10💀
not even top 30@@noobmaster-wg4no
@@JorgeRomero-dv3yk naw he’s between 20-30
Russell Westbrook is like a very fast sports car but it’s being driven by a guy who just got his license
Lmao this acc an accurate analogy
Lmao accurate
Prime Russ is something the real basketball fans know, these recent years arent what he is
You can't forget how good prime Russ was. I would compare him to a smaller version of Giannis
Westbrook disrespect will not be tolerated. Prime Russ is dominating in any era.
He was a beast on the court, a great human off the court. He's just being overhated now. Now, he may not be the best player in the Clippers, but ig he's the most valuable player in terms of performance per million considering his paycut to play with PG and the Clippers.
Russ will forever be in my top 3
of what
From 2014 to 2019 he Was a top 2 pg in the league a mvp most athletic pg ever even tho he's not my favorite player he's was insane in his prime
Drose is the most athletic PG ever
Nice Job:) Love your content, Nonstop!
Never forget the 42-triple-doubles season he had. That’s class and sensational!
Please keep the prime series coming bro . This is fire 🔥
I love the new Series. We often forget how good players has been at their prime.
Prime Russ is who got me into basketball, and I'll always appreciate him for that
KD got me into the NBA, but of course now being a die hard Thunder fan, it ended up being Russ who will always go down as my favorite, with KD on the opposite end.
At the end of the day winning is the most important thing in sports, but we can't deny westbrook's passion and love for the game that makes him special to us fans.
Great video Nonstop your alway there to deliver
have been waiting on this so long
Russel Westbrook was a beast!
Westbrook is so likeable idk how people hate him. Hes so good, has that attitude that i love, Hes positive, hes a fucken gun.
I still cant believe they didnt win a chip when they were in OKC . They turned out to be a future HoF each of their own
*He Damn Good*
*And He Still Good Today 👍🏿*
*WESTSIDE WESTBROOK*
Unlike myself, I know how good these players like Kevin Garnett 2002-2007, Kevin Durant 2009-2016, Chris Paul 2007-2011, Dwight Howard 2007-2012, James Harden 2015-2020 & Russell Westbrook 2014-2019 was and they each of them had a historical peak.
about time u made this lol
Russell Westbrook give him one word RESPECT
Luv these vids of todays superstars
10:10 - This has to be my favorite Westbrook highlight (slightly above the shammgod to the goofy dime to Stevie). Masked Westbrook with the two-handed sledgehammer.
Love these series, can u pls do prime Paul George next
Yall gotta do Kevin Durant next to complete the okc big 3
Narrator… We love you
This is the best NBA CZcams channel
My personally favorite player 🔥🔥🔥
A prime westbrook is what get me hooked into basketball! He will always be one of my favorites!
Russ doesnt need rings to be one of the greatest. He is one of the most entertaining players to watch in basketball history
I don't think people have forgotten how good of a player he was. It's just how hard he fell off in an extremely short time. He went from the MVP to missing layups and constantly turning over the ball. No hate to him it just true unfortunately.
Ngl i was lowkey waiting for you to make a video on Rus and I got it. Everyone should know his prime version i mean guy had what it takes to be on the top team.
Was cool that I got to see him and D Rose kind of invent the crazy athletic guard in thr early 2010s. Weren't really players like them before
Dwyane Wade once said Russell Westbrook was the best player in the world for a short time. And he absolutely was, for about 2/3 of a season. Russ was a joy to watch in his peak. Brodie deserves a ring
I like these “How good was [player name]?” videos so much
Russ truly would be a better player if he evolved his game to set others up a bit more. He had KD and still didn't adapt that. That has always been the asterisk. Nobody doubts his athleticism and skill. Just his ability AS A PG to get others in rhythm too.
The other greats really do dithis and it sets em apart. Magic, LeBron, etc. all make embetter
Lebron is abit questionable on making his Teammates better tbh but I Feel Russ doesn't get enough credit for making his Teammates better. Victor Oladipo credits Westbrook for showing him how to compete hard and be an All-Star caliber player. Bradley Beal has his best overall scoring season with Russ and Paul George ranked 3rd in MVP voting playing with Russ.
@@gabrielalele8603 LeBron unquestionably makes his teammates better. He made Delonte West and Anderson Varejão look like All Stars, but when he left they couldn't even make the playoffs or hardly stay on any team dude.
Every team LeBron has gone to has gone from being horrible or mediocre to championship caliber while making others better. Lebron could go score over 30+ a night easily and often even does. Hell, he has, turned it on to score over 50+ several times. He legit likes getting others involved and anyone that has, ever played with him calls him a basketball servant, because of his knowledge of the game and putting folks in the right place.
Paul George was already an all star dude. Bradley Beal and Oladipo both played very well without Russ. People like Russ's hustle, but he is not on the level of other greats when it comes to making other's better. He just ain't. He's very ball dominant like a Harden. He never developer quite and the proof is having folks like a Durant and yet taking more shots than the literal BEST shooter on his team and league at the time. Even better than Curry for a time.
@kerrydaniels8460 : Paul George and Bradley Beal had their Best scoring seasons playing with Russ. Now that you brought up KD..He also won 3 Scoring TITLES playing with Russ. Both of them chocked against the Warriors in 2017 and had KD came back probably still could have challenged them again for a berth to the Finals. He has His Limitations as a Shooter and makes questionable decisions at times but his ability to make his Teammates better is understated & Underrated. Lebron hasn't consistently shown the ability to play very well without the Ball in his hands and has had the Benefit of being 'the system'/ primarily Ball handler everywhere he has played in his career.
@@gabrielalele8603 LeBron has consistently shown his ability to play well at just about any position. You are pretty ignorant. This year alone at like 36 dude still avaraged over 30 ppg and didn't have the ball in his hand anywhere NEAR what he used to. AD is who he had to make step up more. He beat GSW something Russ never does in the playoffs. He ended up making the Lakers worst, because he was, too ball dominant.
Same when he was with KD. KD won scoring champ despite not getting the ball as much. No way should you be shooting the ball more than your best shooter on the team on the regular. Just no. It's why russ can put up certain numbers individually, but come playoffs people actually show up and the hero ball doesn't work. I love Russ, but he has, flaws dude and his biggest one is getting others to play better. He just keeps the ball too much and doesn't distribute like he should which is why he is struggling and is bounced around now. He just never made others better as both those players you mentioned already were balling hard. Lebron makes literal scrubs go to the finals. Thunder til this day are doing decent while when folks like lebron leave cavs were literally worst in the league by far with hoooorible record.
If they were so great why did players get traded away? Because it didn't work with russ. If russ was making everyone else so much better why would KD leave? He wasn't winning it with russ and he knew.
Hope nobody forgot that in 2019 Paul George finished third and MVP and he finished third and defensive player of the year
I love u nonstop this is where I know most of my bball knolage
W video like all ways nonstop sports
It's easy to forget but don't get it twisted. Prime russ, 2012-2018 was arguably the most electrifying dynamic player in NBA history
Very fun videos ❤❤
I’m not even joking I was looking for this video on CZcams 2 days ago glad this video came out
6:02 in that series thunder were up when Russ was on the court. That lead went away when Russ went to the bench…They could have won that
Forty-one games into the season, Westbrook was averaging 30.8 points, 10.7 rebounds, and 10.5 assists per game, marking the latest anyone had averaged a triple-double since Robertson in 1966-67, when he became the first player to average a triple-double for an entire season (30.8 points, 12.5 rebounds and 11.4 assists) Russ was unstoppable during his peak years no doubt. Doesn’t deserve all the disrespect he gets thrown at his way.
He was sooooo good his teammate would stay out of a rebound so he'd complete his triple double for the night.
HAHAHA True. The best example of a privileged stat padder
Okay so ..... correct me if I am flaunting ignorance or if I am off base .... but I firmly believe that KD and Russ would have gotten a ring with the thunder if the organization had the foresight to see James Harden's greatness and take on the luxury tax to pay him what he was worth.
It is a terrible shame that they let that man go to Houston while he was ascending into his prime.
No, they wouldn't. Regular season tigers.
@@VictorVonsonthat's kind of foolish to say considering they almost got back to the finals again . 1 game away.

Prime Westbrook was the greatest prime of all time
I still think Russ had to play hero ball in his mvp year. His teammates wouldn’t get in Rhythm sure but none of them were considered good shooters or even good role players. Jokic also would get bounced early while Murray was out because he didn’t have help.
What about Paul George having his best season playing with Russ in OKC?

I become a okc fan the summer kd left (not related) and russ kept me entertained and a happy fan
those seasons with russ in 17' mike with 37 a game and kobe in 06 with 36 they played with the worst teams yet they all made the playoffs because of themselves

So crazy to think what could have been with those 3 in OKC
I’m not a huge Westbrook fan on the court, but I’ve heard nothing but good stories about Westbrook off the court with his teammates. He’s hardly a locker room cancer.
Love the guy he's an awesome teammate and leader but his emotions cloud his judgment at times
I remember when Russ and D Rose were both in their primes and people loved D Rose more, even though they kinda played the same way.
D rose was more efficient in those years hes more clutch also and he even get his team to the number 1 seed in the east with 61 wins.
@@ranholic5027 good point
The 2 point gaurds that were the most exciting & most dominant & best overall offensive *Scorers* ive ever watched in my lifetime...
Russel Westbrook & Kyrie Irving.
Both were the best.
Watching what kyrie and westbrook could do passing half court with the ball was unmatched. Russ was more athletic than anyone. Would fly like down the court and jump higher than a forward, and his dunks were unmatched. Pure power and athleticism. Speed.
Kyrie would cook and dribble and slice and shoot BETTER than anyone in his prime. Dude was nuts
This is a nice video that portrayed the real Russell Westbrook.
I feel old reading this caption. Feels like yesterday he was in his prime.
Still Criminally Underrated😎!
First 30 seconds says it all.
Only player who’s given every game 110% love or hate him, you have to respect him💯
Pat bev running into Russ is an all time sinful moment up there with Zaza and Metta World Peace

Prime Russ was really a movie 🎥 I’m not even going to lie what time to be alive
He was in his prime as recently as 2021, why do we need this video?
This guy was fucken monster in mvp season he was the best player in the planet at that time even better than Lebron,KD, steph, and everyone else in my opinion, just his mvp season tho
Good enough to convince people anyone will remember him ten years from now
People should just appreciate the greatness
Russ is one of the best basketball players in the history
“In Game 4 Russ scored 43 points, but took some awful shots down the stretch” 😂😂 this is why he’s the most polarizing player to ever play. It’s nothing but backhanded compliments. Man scored 43 points has the hot hand but can’t take shots down the stretch
Bro was HIM in his prime. The most explosive player i have ever seen.
“Westbrick” is super disrespectful at this point
Idk why Russ is hated he ain’t even do anything he’s a Team Leader, Role Model, and Idol to others that look up to him.
I do not believe russ was a locker room cancer. I think they just used that story line to help push him out
