    This is why I like the older machines , built to last and lots of more years left if you take care of it . It is not fancy but gets the job done every time .

    One thing that I do that you did'nt mention, I always retorque the head bolts on those Quantum engines. Actually, I do that on any flathead that the head bolts are accessible on while Im working on it. Nice job. Those Quantums were great engines. Too bad they will never be built like that again!

  • @classicamericanflyertrains2423

    This may be called a atlas pro but it’s actually built by homelite Jacobsen. And your right it’s a quality mower, I’d take this all day long over the new mowers even if I had to do a little work on it to get it running. If taken care of it should last for many years yet. Good save on that one!

    Those engines have got to be the easiest engines to work on. Carbs are a lot easier to install than the Honda gcv 190 engines.

    • @doublewide6
      @doublewide6  Před 2 lety +1

      Pretty easy. The old engines have better gaskets than the new ones they barely ever need to be replaced if they were made in the 80's

    • @doublewide6
      @doublewide6  Před 2 lety +2

      The wire on the coil is torn or touching metal somewhere. Follow that wire to find the damage. It is not the brake cable.

    I have but am sounder I have if it is really necessary if they are not rusted together.

  • @frankie7508

    Two hours of repair time plusports makes the rejuvenation of the smaller break even. Why? Because other parts could break Or need to be replaced , such as the drive system or the cables Going forward. Personally I would have not invested Unless
    I could have done to work myself.

  • @albersmark2
    @albersmark2 Před 2 lety +1

    You did not install the blades correctly. They should not touch at the tips like you installed them. Look at the start of the video and compare. Looks like you started to put them on correctly but let them turn just before you over tightened the bolt.
