- Over the summer, Bill Wilson came to Idaho to visit his buddy Ken Hackathorn. During his visit Ken and Bill sat on the front porch and looked at several of Ken's favorite semi-auto pistols to shoot. These are not safe queens but guns that Ken enjoys to shoot on a regular basis.

I recently had a surgery that put me in recovery for five weeks. During that time I watched every episode of the Gun Guys, Massad Ayoob and Master Class videos. Thank you to Wilson Combat for helping me get through it and the quality of the information provided. Again thank you
Really excellent series.
Feel better, I hope you have a speedy and complete recovery.
Speedy recovery...
@@GuilePatrickwhy do you put …. At the end of your sentence?
@@teelowteelow356 Three evenly spaced periods at the end of a sentence is generally used to indicate either the omission of words, suggest an incomplete thought, or, as this poster seemed to mean, that more could be said but was considered unnecessary.
A video of Mr. Hackathorn talking about the CZ-75 (both the safety and the decocker versions). His thoughts on the CZ-75, advantages, disadvantages, durability, etc would be awesome.
Of course its durability is not a question so many used by many countries and one.of the top tier duty sidearms in history.

Log cabin home, beautiful location, having your own range. How is this not heaven?
“Nobody pays attention to old geezers.” 😂 I know this to be true from personal experience. It’s interesting to have become invisible. I just love you guys. Keep up the great work
Ken must have a direct phone line to the Wilson Combat builders. I doubt he has to wait 10 months for a build.
Gentlemen I really enjoy these episodes Merry Christmas to both of your families
Merry Christmas to Ken and everyone at Wilson!
You bet 👍
The Wilson Combat/SIG P320 is available and on sale now! Merry Christmas!
Nothing like hearing a legend ken hackathorn
So awesome to see Shadow Systems represented! They're a great group of people, I love their Technical Tuesday videos.
Gentlemen, I'm 71 yrs young I come because I enjoy hearing a sane man speak. Y'all take care, Vern aka flea
I think what I like about this and the revolver episode is how long he's held onto his guns and how well they have held up over time.
I am very happy with the 365 grip module. Highly recommended here.
That wilson grip module is awesome. I got one for my 320 and didn't hesitate to get one for my 365 as soon as they stopped being sold out.
Absolutely excellent grip. Every person I've shown them to has said it's perfect in their hand.
Amen about this grip! I own three of them on 3 different p-365's
Thanks for sharing your firearms and experiences with us.
I really enjoy these episodes. I hope you have more planned.
Thanks guys. Always enjoy you. Keep it up.
I could listen to these two for hours. Pre-internet I watched the Wilson Combat training videos on VHS with Bill and Ken on them over and over. It is good to see the current videos.
Merry Christmas gentlemen!! Always great stuff in the gun guys videos!! A Wilson Combat gun guy t-shirt would be a great addition to all my other Wilson attire! I'd definitely buy a couple!!!
I'm glad to see Shadow Systems made your list. I love my MR920. It's my first striker fire pistol and first red dot and I couldn't be happier.
Awesome video, Gentlemen... It's always great to see what the true professional's choose to carry and shoot on a regular basis. Happy Holiday's!
Thank you Gentlemen for another great video I really enjoy these background videos about yourselves, you learn quite a bit from them, God bless you and your families may you all have a Blessed Christmas & Healthy Happy New Years.
Yall are great Patriots may God Bless you and your family Merry Christmas
There is nothing better than new video from Wilson Combat! I love it! My favourite stuff on CZcams!
Glad you enjoy it!
Love these vids & Ken's collection he showed.
Loved the show and tell! More Please.
The 320 grip module is amazing.
Great episode gentlemen. Merry Christmas
Ken's right, red dots are not the future, they are the present!!
Merry Christmas! Thanks for the video guys! Love these "talks".
Same to you!
I really enjoyed this episode. Please keep them coming
Great video guys, keep it up! Lookin forward to the next segment!
More to come!
I'd like to see what Wilson Combat would do to a CZ 75
I was thinking the same thing. I really don’t care about 1911’s personally
@@S1deshowRob Whoa! You gotta fix that problem.
@@Rustebadge if I’m spending four figures on a gun with a single digit capacity it better be an RPG. There’s just no way I’m dropping that much on a single stack pistol
I really love watching these videos. Showed some really nice pistols but I love the first one Ken brought out. That Five Inch !911 Ken Hackathorn Special in 9mm is the Pistol of My Dreams. Going to own one of my own someday.
I definitely enjoy this type videos keep them coming.
More to come!
I love y’all’s videos!!!
Merry Christmas guys! Love watching these! I too am 70+, enjoy my Beretta92, own a Sig M17 added a Wilson grip Mod, so much better feel now, but 1911 9mm is my go gun.
I’d like to see another video like this one. Next time let’s see the fun guns like the .22’s you mentioned!
I have tested and reviewed the Wilson grip modules for both the P320 and the P365 and although both are great, the P320 module is truly a game changer. I still comfortably shoot my P365 with both the stock and Wilson grip modules but my P320's exclusively use the Wilson grip modules. I just wish they would make one for the XTEN now...
Merry CHRISTmas to you two gentlemen. Sure enjoy listening to y'all. Thank you
Same to you!
Enjoyed this
Thank you
Glad you enjoyed it
🗣 we love all of you keep making excellent content !
Really enjoyed this!!! Thanks
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great content, as always!
Glad you enjoyed it
Just purchased an EDC X9 with the Silver Stainless Steel Slide the two- tone model with the skeletonized trigger and bilateral thumb safeties. It is a blast to shoot. Only had time to shoot a couple hundred rounds thru it so far but it has run flawlessly. Probably will be my new EDC gun. I did add a new set of wood grips to it instead of keeping the G 10 grips but no other modifications... Wish you could see the huge smile on my face...
I had the opportunity to meet Ken in Marietta, Ohio back in the 80s. My brother in law Bob Strahler introduced me on a gun range I believe it was called Harmer gun club. It was just up the road from Bobs house. This was before IDPA really got big. Ken was in a surrender position on his knees. Then he went to the ground and shot plates at I’m guessing 50 yards. I was just starting out shooting. I had a colt gold cup series 70. I was just amazed at how Ken handled his 45. Bob just celebrated his 78 th a few days ago and we still enjoy talking about Ken and the gun competitions.
Agreed Sparks make a nice holster.
I’ve always said that I would love to hear. From both of you and especially Massad Ayoob, stories about Lt Colonel Jeff Cooper.
Oh man, I wish I lived in Idaho. So pretty.. I lived in Colorado and loved the weather. I'm considering retiring in either Idaho or Northern AZ. Somewhere one can shoot and hunt and nice weather.
Thanks so much for these videos guys! I love this channel!

love these video's
Merry Christmas gentlemen!!!
Same to you!
Why am I reminded of Zeppo Marx emptying out all the pockets of his coat? (G)
Nice to see a 92 in there and would love to hear why Bill likes them so much. I know he has a few more of them then I do.
Hanging out on the porch with these guys would be a lot of fun.
I’m a competition shooter only and can’t carry where I live so for me , red dots are the now and the future ongoing , but nonetheless, I really enjoy these relaxed style chats about the history and reflections on their firearms and gear from icons of the industry.
nice line up, thanks.
Thanks for listening
A few weeks ago I just picked up an original Colt 1903 pocket hammerless type IV (meaning it has a magazine disconnect safety), manufactured in 1940
And chambered in .32acp
Sweet man!
Nice. Great pistol
Thank you Gentlemen for another enjoyable video.
Our pleasure!
I just love hearing real men talk about the accuracy of Beretta! I have the 92FS and now my new Wilson Combat custom .45......my two favorites👏😃 thanks guys!
Right on
I like that every single person waiting has already liked it
Howdy from Wyoming! Love the content!
Hey, thanks!
How good is this 👍.. living in Australia bit restricted but so much as you think . Have 9+ pistols best and easy shooting is a 1911 being a Chinese Norinco converted to .38 super by a old time gunsmith name of Owen Hennessy. Had it and shot the shit out it for 20 years and still bloody love it 👍
ken you have very nice dependable handguns i have a colt competition 45 very nice in fact i just shot it wednesday 20 december i really like it thank you
I enjoy watching you guys trying to figure out what pistol next I have a Glock 19 gen 5 it shots good when I put it in a mck kit with a red dot on it tight grope. Far as shooting it by itself I suck. I have a brownie 380 small 1911 do well with it Raised in Wyoming shooting long distance pistol is a different animal
Glock gen 5 is a great gun.
I’m with Ken on the red dot. I’ve shot thousands of rounds through pistols with dots. And, I’ve got a lifetime of shooting regulars sights. If I take a long brake from pistol shooting over the winter when I start again it’s like I never stopped with irons. With the red dot I have to reacclimate especially when trying to get a fast shot on target out of a holster under time.
12:40 Polite way of saying I don't trust the Sig P320. I don't blame you, Ken.😇
Speaking of the future topic - you both have a lot of the range time. Could you make a video about accidents you witnessed on the range - both casual and odd ones?
Great video, gentlemen ! The selections and comments are what most of us would expect to see from well established shooters talking about iconic models that have served well the intent on why they were purchased. There are eight million new gun owners in this year ( 2022 ) that is almost over and this is not a record for overall sales for a one single year, as a whole. That means an incredible increase in people who are looking for direction in solid training and masterful instruction, to make their investment in a firearm more meaningful. Please consider a video to include a direction for folks to get the training they desire and where and how to do so. Thank you.
Man that lightweight Commander is gonna be my next WC
Great show-and-tell. I wish Wilson Combat would offer the P320 Compact with the M17/M18 FCU, but with a more usable safety. Hint, hint.
That 9mm Hackathorn special is my dream gun.
Perfect example of two guys who did what they love for a living and did well.
Merry Christmas
Same to you!
I like all those guns, he has good tastes.
And the money and connections to get them.😉
At pistol ranges the best thing you can do is practice and that means you'll be pretty good with irons. I love scopes and have plenty of red dots but for a DEFENSIVE SHTF pistol I prefer irons everytime.
I enjoy watching you guys & what a list of favorites Ken has!
I do have a question for Bill, I’ve got your 320 grip module & it is a major upgrade over the original. I have a 365xl I’m wanting to get your grip for it but since Sig has introduced the 365 Macro the question is why not update all your 365 grips with a light rail? That would be another level improvement!
Merry Christmas Gents
I'll say a 9mm gov 5 inch 1911/2011 is my favorite handgun
Great episode as always! Love hearing both of your insights but am disappointed in Ken's support of Chinese products. The I phone doesn't have a lot of competition so there aren't as many options but there are quite a number of non-ccp red dots to choose from. Let's all try to consider choices that avoid enriching our enemies.
Thanks
Welcome
I have several grip modules for my P320’s and P365’s just missing one for the P320 in 45 cal. If they make a limited run I have cash in hand!!!
Ok. How many of us want to buy a Wilson after watching these. 😳
It must be great to have the connections to acquire all these guns.
I bought a PDP F series frame to run the slide from my PPQ Subcompact (3.5 inch barrel). Had to swap a few parts to make it work but I’m very happy with how it turned out. The standard PPQ slide will run on the PDP frame out of the box. PPQ SC has a different striker assembly than standard PPQ, so the striker lug’s dimensions are a little different. F series also uses a different trigger bar, sear and single action lever than standard PDP. This is why a PPQ Subcompact slide on PDP F series frame is one of one that I’m aware of, and it’s mine. Either way, I’m a huge fan of PPQ slides on PDP frames. Not a red dot guy so I prefer the thinner tapered PPQ slide and the looks compared to PDP slide, and I much prefer the PDP frame over PPQ’s. PDP has outstanding grip texture.
Thanks much Gentlemen
Idaho is pretty dry. I'd be interested in the guys down south to do a video on red dots in that climate. I'm near the great lakes with a 4 season climate. Also I'm curious about your take on the older west german made p series sig sauers, since you guys brought out a couple different sigs and that beretta for this. I went with the p228 back in my day, there wasn't too much on the market back then that was affordable and ready to go out of the box, i remember the p229 being heavy and chunky, beretta and s&w autos of the day didn't have decock only, glock gen 2 were actually pretty nice though, glad the gen 5 is kinda back to that clean grip.
you convinced me to get Ivory grips found some mammoth ivory here in Alaska
I bet they're expensive ones...hahahah
Ken: Will you do a show on your Gold front sight? I'm not familiar with them.
Mr. Hackathorn you made me laugh when you said you switched out the P320 FCU to the M17. I wonder why you did that??? lol.
What is the timeline for a grip module for the P365 Macro?
Ken
Show us your truck vault .
Just to see the look on Bill's face, I was waiting for a Hi Point to appear.
I've got the cz, 1911, ( 22 cal) but my rock, 22 tcm is really much more fun!!!!!!!!!!
What is Ken's favorite .22LR handgun to shoot?
Ken- where did you get the grips for your Hackathorn Special?
Bill you and your team were willing to to take a Commander series 70 , a gift to me from my father when I returned from Vietnam. Many years later early 20’s I believe I had my favorite gun shop, Only the Best, in Pompano fl contact you because I wanted your total upgrade including removing the old nickel finish. Spoke to your tech ordered everything you suggested for best upgrade. A gift to my son. Thank you for asking if I wanted the Wilson logo. Of course I accepted. God Bless America. Be safe guys

I run an xr920 elite with an rmr in a level 2 duty holster. It's about as good as polymer guns get haha.
My SIG P210 is the first pistol my 16 yo daughter shot. She loves it, my wife does too. Like the trigger, but it’s not a 1911/2011 trigger so it not my fav. Great gun though.
