- The Hyperia / Project Exodus updates have now come to an end... however today I'm back with another video I did not think I'd be making. I discuss the recent closure of Hyperia as well as the amazing opening day and press event! Thorpe Park have currently stated that Hyperia will not open before the 8th June.

Apparently, the plates at the top are loose and need replacing. They were meant to last 3 years, but they didn't even make it 24 hours

The problem is the chain, chain motors and the sprockets, go on Ryan the ride mechanic he’ll give you a decent update

Was hoping for some inside info about the problem but this is just 15 minutes of nothing.
I stand to be corrected, but I believe it might be something to do with the lifthill, i do know that a member of the mack family has flown in from germany to try and resolve the issue.

Opening day was genuinely the best day I've ever had at a theme park. The atmosphere was immaculate.

Another 'Hyperia Closed' video that actually doesn't properly address the closure. Having followed all the construction updates, I saw this video and thought 'finally, if anyone will address this, it will be Jack.' Nah - wrong. Quite disappointing, but yet again, expected now that he is on the payroll.

Still haven’t got over the overwhelming sadness of Saturday 😢 From having literally the best day ever to the closure was just heartbreaking 💔 Have to say I felt sad for the park more than anything given how incredible Opening Day was! Hats off to everyone involved in organising because it was perfect! Fingers crossed we get to do it all over again when she reopens 🙏🏻

I've literally just commented on Andy's vlog that it was the best day I've ever had in a theme park... Incredible day, incredible coaster. Thank you so much once again for your content Jack, your updates have been incredible. I've had a few peaks and troughs in my enthusiasm through the years, but this year feels like the biggest peak yet, you and other creators are a big part of that!!! And the UK additions help too, of course. Absolutely buzzing!

Opening day was epic saw you all filming and taking pics. May have been over excited when sat at the back and archie said are u excited 😂 May have felt like a 6 Yr old wjrh excitement 😂😂
Honestly, was there on Tuesday and I’ve gotta say the thing looks insane. It dominates the skyline and looks so much bigger in person. I wasn’t as annoyed about not riding it as I thought I’d be 🤷♂️
The documentary sounds brilliant Jack. Particularly if you’re able to secure some interviews, get a proper narration going, really make it a polished production!
Only managed 1 ride on opening day, but had an amazing time.
Writing a book about Hyperia is a brilliant idea. You could discuss all the aspects of developing an advanced amusement ride like Hyperia. I will be the first to buy such a book. I have purchased both of John Wardley's books.

Abit gutted, i'm off to thorpe park on the 4th was hoping it would be open but oh well. Generally I think thorpe park have dealt with the situation pretty much as well as they could have done, other than not actually disclosing what is actually wrong with the ride, I kinda think that would help us enthusiasts kinda accept it for what it is without having to speculate how big of an issue it actually is.
I think it's better to leave the media to do baseless speculation than to give them details they can intentionally misinterpret and make people want to shut it down. I mean, have you seen how the media treats the big one? Heck, they can't even get the height right, let alone information about how roller coasters work.

I think any theme park would be doing a great PR thing if they hired you to cover their construction on new coasters in future.

I was hoping to ride it a few weeks after opening so that the queues can die down, just before they get super busy again during the summer holidays. But it doesn't look like that'll happen now. I might just have to wait till September to ride it 😔

We all know it was Theme Park Worldwide who broke it! Top Thrill 2 broke the day after they rode it and then they did the same to Hyperia xD

Bro why dont you get in touch with other theme parks to do the same format on their coaster constructions? I mean, the park would be gaining so much more exposure and it could help create more hype for rides. Also i think you would do an outstanding job with this format all over the world in theme parks :)

Other enthusiasts are unhappy with the lack of information from the park. Is this channel a Merlin asset now or does it still have a free voice?
Surely we as enthusiasts know better than to give the media fuel to spread nonsense. Like imagine if they said the lift hill chain is broken as some enthusiasts have been speculating? The media doesn't know how lift hills work or anti-rollback mechanisms or anything like that. They'd think people were at genuine risk of the train speeding down the hill and smashing into the other train. As would GP, who are their main customers. Then people throw a big fit and scream for it to be demolished like they did with The Smiler.
Besides, what difference does it make to us? They'll fix the issue when they fix the issue and then we as enthusiasts will know it's safe because we know how over the top safety is for rollercoasters.

I got an e-mail hyping the opening but nothing to say it was closed for awhile, I know it's not great for them to have to send something like that but if I didn't follow a lot of people like you, TPW etc I wouldn't have known and would have been a bit pissed off going there.

Yeah the jungle soundtrack was playing quite loud outside of Burger King and my mic wasn’t working properly so picked up a lot of background noise!
