As a mother of a son and wife to a man i really dont think wanting children is normal. I love my child and i want more but its the hardest thing anyone can do. Some people arent built to have children. I can name 5 women off the top of my head who wanted their children but theyre god awful mothers. Not only is being pregnant tiring but it literally suck the life out of you. I threw up for months straight, my teeth were in so much pain and my chest was so sore. After a baby is born you can bleed up to 40 days. If you tear youll need stitches and if its a C section that is a major abdominal surgery with a longer healing time than vaginal delivery. Your breasts hurt for weeks bc ur colostrum is turning into milk and it feels like razor blades in ur breasts and stomach. Not to mention many women suffer from post pardum depression and aften kill themselves because they arent in a position to get proper treatment. It is normal to not want children bc in reality if men had to do it they rarely would

10 years later I still say this to my cat who seems possessed by some unholy spirit 🤣
So back to what I was saying 🎶
I have a cat that was very abused before she came into my life. She hated everyone, and wouldn't let anyone touch her, but I worked with her for a long time. I'll never forget the day when she chomped down on my hand, and with her teeth in my skin, ears back, waiting for the retaliatory hit, I just said to her as sweetly as possible "No Mama, no. It's ok." and she slowly released her jaws. That was about 7 years ago. She still has her issues, but the trust I have with her is incredible, and she is a completely different cat. She knows now that she has a family who loves her. She even loves my neighbors, who are not at all cat people, and they recognize what an honor it is to be loved by Mama-Cat.
That's a beautiful story. Nothing more rewarding, than seeing an abused animal or human heal. I have a similar story! Thank you for loving this cat and nurturing her! ❤️
😭😭😭😭❤❤❤
I had a abused cat like that too, it took me almost a year, but after that she sat next to me on the couch watching meercats on TV! Sdaly she passed a few years ago, almost 18 years old!
I can relate to that! Only my stray bit down to the bone and i had to get shots of strong antibiotics (red line creeping up my arm).
Some time later my doctor said: i think you've learned your lesson. Well no ma'am, that cat sits on my lap every evening now, purring and kneading :-)
@@haakdraakje Amen, same with me! Thank God we didn't give up on our cats. Even through these difficulties, they're worth our time, love, and sometimes pain to have them in our lives. Just as our love transforms their lives, their love transforms our lives also!

You're absolutely right! That's why it's so hideous when humans betray animals by mistreating and/or eating them.
“not adoptable” needs to be changed to something like “needs patient and understanding pet parent”
yeah
Omg! You hit the nail on the head!
Commitment adoptable
Pretty much every shelter I've volunteered at - my spouse was transferred a lot - had one very sad and upsetting thing in common ... they'd give dogs so much time and funds if they were vicious. Rehabbed so many. But have a cat hiss once, and they're deemed adoptable, and killed. Whenever we adopted, those are the cats we took home.
One cat, Dusty, took 5 1/2 months before she came around. One day she decided we weren't a threat, came out and was a cuddle-bug after that. Had her 17 years. Still miss her.
@Sara at least mine have a use and catch and kill bugs and mosquitoes. 😂😂
Wish humans were so patient with each other especially people that are broken
Animals have no ill intent, they just survive and go with the flow. However, humans...
I felt this on another level
Sometimes a person who has been through real pain will be the extreme level of compassionate. Not because they had an easy life but because they suffered and so they know to never put another human being through what they personally went through.

I’m so glad you posted this! I work with cats at an animal shelter. A stray ginger cat was brought to us. He hissed at everyone and people basically left him alone. He was in a room by himself, and he hissed at me when I came in, but I knew it was just fear. I also got this strong feeling that he was all talk and no action. So I stayed in the room but away from him and read a story. I slowly crept closer and he relaxed his body so I knew he was OK with that. But the best was when I sang. He just turned over and let me know it was OK to let him smell my hand. After that, he let me scratch him and he laid his head on my lap. You have to allow a cat to show you when it’s time. I’m very sad to say that he was adopted by a sweet elderly couple and we told them very clearly about giving him time. They keep calling us and telling us about how he’s still hiding and they keep pulling him out of his hiding place every day but he goes right back. They didn’t listen to a word we said! I’m actually going to ask my supervisor if I could go over to see him if they let me. It really hurts my heart that people don’t get it, even when they’re told
Could you please gives us any updates? How is the ginger cat doing?
@ Hi Linda. Sweet of you to ask! It’s been a long time, but if I remember correctly they returned the cat to us. It was for the best because a lovely couple adopted him. We only check on the animals that are adopted out one time usually. There’s a large amount of adoptions at the shelter, and not enough staff to keep up in that way. Usually people send us pictures and updates on their own. But it’s amazing how many stories I like the one I wrote about. And get this Linda - last week someone returned a cat after two days because, wait for it… It “slept too much”!!!

The way you describe the “reciprocal connection” between animal and human was absolutely enlightened. You, dear girl, are in-tune with life.
Basically this is how cats really are. Some people hate cats because they're not as receptive or as attentive as dogs but like many things, relationship takes time. Commitment to your pet takes time.
That's because cats are highly intelligent animals. They are smart enough and conscious enough to be suspicious and wary of strangers, foreign places, and things. Dogs on the other hand lack a significant amount of functioning brain cells and will greet any stranger enthusiastically, even one whom is breaking into your home
It's so worth it in the end. You and your cat will have such a special bond once your cat fully trusts you.
grey day No need to bag on dogs so aggressively, lol. They’re intelligent creatures as well as cats. Both animals have pros and cons that tailor to specific aspects an owner wants in their pets, it’s not a matter of “brain functionality”.
@@grey3871 I love cats, and they ARE so intelligent, but dogs have simply been domesticated through selective breeding for a far longer time than cats, cats are actually closer to "wild" animals, which explains a lot of their traits. Most of the friendly traits we see in dogs were purposely selected, it didn't happen by accident. They're really intelligent too. All animals, even the ones we don't normally see as pets can display amazing intelligence, there are probably things we still don't realize about how cognizant they all are of their surroundings.
@@kgbeezr75 dogs are bobolons. That's a Spanish term that doesn't really translate into English very well, but its meaning is equivalent to a big dumb person/mentally deficient person. Think of a caveman for instance: Its big, its hairy, it grunts, it drags its feet as it walks, its clumsy, it drools and it stinks. Same characteristics as a dog. Sure it can be viewed as "intelligent" because it can carry out basic commands and functions lol. But dogs are the dumbest creature. You have to EARN a cats trust(sign of intelligence) we humans are the same way. Dogs on the other hand trust freely because they are bobolons. Just wave some food in the stupid things face and it will follow you.. So if you're saying that dogs were "bred" to be bobolons while cats still hold their "wild" survival traits, (aka functioning braincells/intelligence) then I'll have to agree to that
How she looks: Grrrrrr
How she actually is: Prrrrrrrrprrrrrr

Awe. .. what a sweet little kitty! The poor little baby was probably hurt really bad by some evil people when she was little. I'm so glad you took her in and was so lovingly patient and kind! 💗
Our feral has been with us for 6 years now (We have one other) and she still has unpredictable moments. There was a marked improvement around the 3rd year, not sure why. She suddenly became much more trusting and stopped drawing blood when she acts out. Still growls, hisses, objects suddenly in the middle of an asked-for petting, but it's evident she feels at home here, even comes when 'her' song is whistled, and responds to her name....patience and kindness are key.
I took in an aggressive cat after his owner died. He’d lash out every time I got a little too close, but a couple of times I noticed that he was shaking with fear. It took months and months of patience, with infrequent and gentle testing of his boundaries before he came round. Now he’s the cwtchiest of the lot. He wraps his paws around my neck and burrows his head under my chin. I love him so much. 💕 Be prepared to give it LOTS of time and patience if you attempt to rehab an aggressive kitty. 🙏
You are an angel ♥
Baky T that’s a nice thing to say, thank you 🌺, but I think it should simply be considered normal behaviour for people in general. x

stuff like this makes me happy. She just needed someone who understood her. I have a rescue that was incapable of getting pets. He would go into defensive mode immediately. I don't know what his life was before but it was clear that he didn't have a human he could fully trust. I could not pick him up, total freak out. I never scolded him for biting, just gave him space and lots and lots of love and kind words. Little by little he trusted me more and he is the sweetest little thing now. Not big on cuddles on the couch but loves kisses and gives head bumps every time he can. He's always close to me. I can hug him now and carry him for a while without any drama. He was just a sweet sensitive soul who had a tough start in life.

I have a similar story, my cousin had found a stray and didn't wanna give it to a shelter so she took it around for everyone to see and at first, already having two cats, my mother said no but I remember crying like there was no tomorrow and eventually my mom said yes. The cat (we named her Sagwa (saw-gwa)) wasn't very aggressive but she would run away from everyone and hide in corners and if a cat or a human got too close she'd hiss. After a few years she really started to open up and now over 10 years later she cuddles with me in bed, she won't leave my ma alone, and she ~loves~ to play. It's a miracle what kindness and patience will do for you :)

Vets have told me cats will also purr when they get anxious. Not just when contented and happy. I was surprised to learn that. I guess its like a person with a 'nervous' laugh maybe?
I’ve read that cats purr sometimes to self-soothe. I bet she was purring to comfort herself. Just like @Jo Goodwin said.
My Olive too😗
My god that woman expresses herself so beautifully and great! She speaks like a writer!
Reminds me of a cat we used to have. We adopted him from the vets where someone had taken him after finding him as a stray.
He was totally terrified of everyone when we got him, and would yell and struggle if you tried to touch him.
After about a 6 week period of just being incredibly patient, he just suddenly flipped into the biggest cuddly purr-monster I've known. Suddenly he was letting me pick him up and carry him round like a baby, rarely left our sides, and just suddenly seemed to trust us completely.
I guess a life on the streets had created this scared, angry individual but behind it all was this beautiful soul who just wanted to be loved.
I am crying so hard because anyone else would have given up on her and left her on a curb. You're amazing. Thank you not giving up 😭😭😭😭😭
❤
Only a psycho would do so. Cat is from a shelter, she could return her at worst
A friend of mine died so I took in his 8 month old cat who he thought was a female. Turned out the cat was a boy... and that cat wasn't happy that I was adopting him. He would chase me down and attach onto my leg and dig all of his claws in until I had blood running down my leg. Then to add more injury he would bite me. I felt like I had a wild raccoon in the house and not a cat. It was crazy. If my friend hadn't died I would have gave up on that cat. He would even PEE on top of me when I was sleeping. It took about 3 months to get him settled. I literally had to paint my fabric couch with house paint to seal in the smell until I had him sorted out. It was a JOURNEY... but..., guess what... he ended up being sweet, kind and gentle in the end. It was a happy ending.
i'm sorry about your friend, and happy you didn't give up on the cat. well done!
Cats are very intelligent, my old roommate was given an old male cat and I noticed him hiding. So I chased him around the house. He pissed all over my clothes and bed. Only MINE. Cuz it smelled like me.
My adopted Bengal hated me. She would pee on my bedroom pillows constantly. I ended up bequeathing her to a friend. Turns out she just needed a different friend. The other cat turned out thi be a blessing for the kitty. It was like night and day. Im glad she happy now
Just Me thank you for being such a patient and loving pawrent (😉). You really showed love and kindness to a little soul that had lost everything.
@Topanga Reyna yes. I couldn't buy a new couch until he was settled.
THAT is such a heart melting story. I've always known inatinctly that aggressive animals have hope for change and the key is love and patience. This story orally confirms it. Love it to pieces!
The comparison with the feeling of a mother could be quite accurate. The snuggling pictures reminded me of times when I snuggle with my child ♥️
When you stop looking at your pet as a "thing" that you bought into your house for your own amusement and look at your pet (any pet) as a living being with his own desires, preferences and habits; everything falls into place. 99% of the time a cats aggression/unfriendliness is the pet owners fault. Ask yourself this question: Does your wife/child/husband/brother/sister/mother/father love you? Of course they do. But each of them have their personal preferences/annoyances/different levels of patience etc. If you did not respect those boundaries they would be ticked off at you too. Once you start to respect your pets individual preferences they will actually love you more then you can imagine.
We raised our 3 cats like this and they have NEVER once shown even an ounce of aggression towards us. We respect each of them as we would respect any other person.
100% agree.

I love this cat’s eyes! They’re wide and wise and magical, and full of love when she cuddles with her mom.
When she said “the rest was history” that’s literally so true. Kitty let go of the fear and mistrust, she was done with all that.
My family adopted two kitten sisters and one kitten was very loving and the other wasn’t aggressive but she was just very skittish and wouldn’t let anyone touch her. Took about 7 years but now she’s just like her sister and just wants attention all the time 😂
One of my cats also needed about 6 years to change herself totally :-)
My older sister and her boyfriend at the time had a cat named Tweety. When Tweety was a kitten she was loving and sweet. When Tweety got older and her sister left for a new home she turned mean and aggressive. Hissing and clawing at anyone who wasn't my older sister and her boyfriend.
When they had a baby and me and my little sister were over at their place Tweety turned to me and my little sister for pets. Turning back to the sweet and loving girl we remember her being.
Same here. We rescued a momcat from a sleet storm, who thanked us with six kittens that very night. The ones we didn't find homes for - all excellent, indoor places - have lived here all their lives. Seven years now. One KittenCat, Dusty, is so skittish around everyone, and no reason at all.
She is FINALLY coming around, too. Lets me really pet her, and loves her groomies.
@@triciaaw4539 I bet one day you'll find her curled up asleep on your face.
@@celestiafanforever - she HAS been sleeping on the foot of our bed. It does my heart good to see that she is getting comfy in her own home 😺
I'm in love with this woman and her wisdom. She's very aware, full of love.
*Grumpy looking Barbara be like "Mom, I love you lots !"* 😾
Once I cried in front of my cat she became my child. It took a month for this to happen to me (as well). She cried with me and it was so funny and so cute that whatever made me sad before disappeared. I was so depressed at that time (and suicidal) and walked in the door balling my eyes out because I had just been cheated on. Yes, you could say she saved my life. My cat cried so loud at me almost like she was saying, “PLEASE DON’T CRY MOMMY” over and over again. She was eating before that happened, so when she started crying she was chewing her food fast and crying at the same time. (I.e. “noom noom noom-WAAAAAAHHHHHH!”) It’s the cutest visual when cats do this. I love all cats all the same-IN EVERY COLOR. Thank you for sharing your beautiful story. ❤️
Omg that's so cute ♥️
I hope you and your kitty are doing a lot better ❤️
I cried 😭
That's adorable! I'm glad that your kitty helped you go through this :)
Cats are people too they have Love pain feelings just like us they have a Soul just like us, speak up for the ones who can't speak up for themselves Cats are people too and they are our emotional support they are helping us get through the quarantine some of them been quarantine for years stuck inside the house is important for Cats to go out too
“You’re there for the animal, to make their lives as comfortable as possible.”
She has eyes of high class but she's humbles herself to her human mama.
She feels that you truly love her, and she loves you as much. Wonderful connection.
All animals are precious they just need a chance to learn to trust. Then when they do you get the joy of experiencing unconditional love 💕
Audrey , I agree that’s why I think rescuing animals is such a special thing !
Hals I agree as well! 👍👍
stop circle jerking please
Except chihuahuas those things are fucking devils
Exactly
Dude she looks like the kind of cat evil geniuses pet while manically laughing but is actually a cute and poofy ball of floof🥰
A great deal of patience and wisdom in this. Well done.
She has a mummy that didn't give up on her you are both stars soul mates blessed already 🙌
I just love those beautiful eyes and angry face just a gorgeous cat.
She's so adorable and she looks like a lil one that can't get her way
Soulmates! Always important to remember you have to meet them where they are at and not force your need on them. It is very profound!
Such a fierce little granny cat!
I believe the term "sour puss" was coined after this particular cat's face.💕
I don't why some people keep saying she looks mean she is beautiful
Barbara’s eyes look GINORMOUS...she’s to cute.
Anime cat
God bless her for her patience. The kitty is innocent n loving
I adopted an aggressive cat, more so that she was returned to the shelter twice before I got her. The workers at the humane society were questioning when I inquired about her, almost trying to talk me out of adopting her.. I looked at her and told her that I was her mom now and that would never be coming back to the shelter. She is the biggest snuggle bug ever, but she's a cat.. She still does need her space, and doesn't want to be pet at times. You just need to understand them and pay attention to their body language. I now know when she doesn't want to be pet, but she still sleeps with me every single night, so much that she has to be touching me. I love her!
this is such a nice and heartwarming story :). thnx for that and for being such a great cat mom
@@lucielu1230 Thank you so much!
@@meganbeckwith262 you are welcome ^^
I found my cat is a stray almost nine years ago. i came home from work, and she was at my door. she was extremely aggressive. you could not pet her without her biting you, she would run, she would hide, she would hiss if you got too close.
over time, she slowly began to trust me. I let her have space, let her explore her new home on her own, let her do what she needed to do to feel safe.
9 years later, she still does not like to be pet for too long, she isn't really cuddly, and she is still scared of a lot. but my goodness, she's an entirely different cat. the amount of trust I can see in her eyes now is worth it. I just hope that I've been able to heal whatever hurt her in her past.
update: my lovely lady passed away unexpectedly, but peacefully this morning. i pray that my family and i helped her heal through these years, and that she's sleeping peacefully now.
goodnight, stitch. i love you. ♥️
Wonderful. I have a cat who lived in my backyard, and hissed/growled at me for two years. I fed him and gave him shelter from the elements. Finally, one day while I walked the path from my car to my backdoor where he greeted me with hisses and growls everytime I returned (he knew my schedule), he rolled on his back and let me scratch his belly! He's been my baby ever since. His name is Mr Tumnis, because, like the character in Narnia, he kept to himself out of a need for safety for so long. Now he comforts my other cat who has had health problems - very loving.
I'm not crying...you're crying.
She looks like a mix of devon rex, bengal and brittish shorthair, so odd and so striking. Love her wide face, short chin and strong features...and her gace is giving me intelligence!
Her eyes are so damn beautiful!!
She looks at the camera like saying: SHE IS MINE! How beatiful.
There is no such thing as an unadoptable cat. All it takes is time.
With cats, it's ALL about trust. If you do something that hurts or scares them, even unintentionally, it takes a long time for them to forget.
Patience is the key. My mom's tomcat needed three years. She never gave up. Now he is her baby.
I rescued a timid, young street cat and after a lot of time and patience, we became soul mates.
She was my BEST cat ever and we had 18 years together.
They are diamonds in the rough...give them time to shine.🐱💎
Her face is sooooo cute!!! Thank you for not giving up on her!!! She just needed someone to be patient and loving with her!!!
Omg.. my heart. Thanks for showing people how loving cats actually are and thank you for looking after her ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I got a cat from the shelter. She was non aggressive and we had an immediate connection but it took her 2 years to stop running in fear from my husband. My husband would get upset. I told him, it takes time. Didn't realize it would take that much time! Now she sits in his lap and rubs him.
