After watching several of these out of the box fights if the Marines removed either the terminators or the dreadnaught its be a slightly more even fight.
Great video. Really good vibes and sportsmanship in a learning scenario with somewhat weird armies out of the box and rules still being learned. Really enjoyed it. Good energy throughout.

You know, GW said that this edition would be much less killey and more tanky, but I'm seeing a significant amount of quick and easy murder going on from Turn 1 Tyranids.
the big tanks and monsters and stuff will be more tanky. infantry will still get slaughtered

Yeah it's great when horde armies don't get removed in swaths and elite armies do instead! :D
(I still am trying to hold on strong, but with my main army getting shafted with the datasheets and watching batreps of marines getting stomped by horde...it's concerning.)

@@thundergoat421_6 most games are rigged. The marines would win every time out the box. Bat reps are not great representations of real play. They are more to showcase new models

Great game. Learned a lot. Couple of notes regarding new rules. Dreadnoughts aren't infantry. So no sustained hits on him. Also when using tactical missions you can discard one or both of the secondary mission cards at the end of your turn. You even get 1 CP for it if it's not the 5th battle round. That helps in situations where the first mission cards you draw are really bad early on. Could have made a difference in this game for sure.
Love both the guys individually and having across over was awesome. To be honest I love any crossover between channels.
I think the chargers and the charged should roll to hit and damage at the sametime if they both have fight first. Can't wait to preorder

I think they need to add initiative back instead of doing all this bullshit. They act like removing it simplifies things but it doesn’t because they have to write a book of rules on what to do instead and have to write special rules for characters to have

Great bat-rep, thanks! I'm pretty sure you could have made the charge at 34:45 as you can charge over up to 2" high terrain as if it wasn't there (pg 30 Core rules)

Go bugs! Gonna be preordering this for an early birthday present. I'm still watching but I have a feeling they designed this box to give space marines a bit of an easier time as they usually do with starter sets. Luckily I have plenty of other nids to use.... hehehehe

Good to see the new edition is still fun and has good interactions. Lack of excess CP are prohibitive against using some of the cool strategems. Stephen seems like a great sport and player.
Actually they would have had extra cp for discarding tactical cards at end of the turn but they forgot they could do that … oh well, next time!

Given what the Barbgaunts can do with that disrupt I'd expect a few to be included in ever 'Nids army in 10th for a good while.
I'm a big fan of not knowing all the rules, especially of not knowing all the stuff my opponent can do. It makes games so much more fun!

Yeah I just managed to get my hands on Leviathan, I did a quick points cost using the new 40k app and for a balanced game worked out you take the entire Tyranid side against the Space Marines minus the Apothecary and five Infernus Marines.
Aw man I can't wait to not be able to buy the Leviathan box for months after release because of scalpers.

Havent tuned in for a few months but I'm liking the quicker format
I feel with you drawing two secondaries per turn it might be fairer to remove the -1CP penalty for throwing one away and make it free to toss one objective card away per turn. But the downside is you can't draw one to replace it without spending CP. Overall this was a great batrep, love seeing nids whenever they are on the board.
Sustain 1 from the Fleet shouldn't work on the Dreadnaught because its a vehicle?

Quick question, at 11:28 when you shot with the barbgaunts you rolled 6s to hit would that not be sustained hits since you were shooting at infantry? Or am I misunderstanding

Instead of the tape measure why dont you use a top down laser or light that projects selectable movement radius? Does that exist?
The measurements would stretch or shrink depending on how far the light or laser was from the surface. It's possible but impractical.

Poor Librarian. Stepped on a landmine, ran off by himself and fell in a hole. Captain Vanguard swooped in to save him, rewarded with the Librarian nuking himself with his focused smite. Then he turned around a corner and was eaten by bugs. RIP

Don't know if it's been asked, but the librarian charging around the 25 minute mark, didn't they change charging so you have to charge directly at the closest unit to stop wrapping and extra movement?
No. It's harder but you can congo stuff still especially with bigger units so first moving models can stop later from being able to go b2b

you can't split fire the same weapons, small mistake. the weapon you choose all must go into the same target.

What chapter are the space marines
In the history of this game I believe no one did roll this bad ever… not even spacemarine Steve does 😂😂😂
New prime is quite possibly ass, depending on points. Special character with lone operative, a 4+ save, no invuln, but two damage attacks to kill marines, but only one pip of AP? It's not good at killing anything it seems designed to kill unless the marine player rolls badly. Should've been a 3+ save with -2 ap, or otherwise have fight first, or something that makes it likely to obtain some value in combat (since it has no shooting either). It's basically guaranteed to die against any other melee character with a 3+ armor save or better. Why does it make sense that the hive mind would design something like this?
Also psychophage having D6 + 1 melee attacks makes it a bad choice (also only one -1 ap on both melee and shooting profiles), unless very cheap also. Not sure why the designers thought that was good, since it's not a support choice either and confers no other benefits on your army. I'm just not sure what any of them were thinking.
Nids have almost no sources of ap -2 outside of monsters in an edition that emphasizes toughness and high save values. Not even glass cannons now. If their points aren't cheap as hell, they'll seem pretty undertuned to me. It's like 7th edition all over again.
