There's only one track, qualify first and then try to survive the stunt track in championship lap against Phantom Photon ghost car. It will then be replaced by ghost car from players lap record. After qualifying it's necessary to wait for the time to run out before proceeding to championship challenge, I cut this part out from the video.
Amiga port suffers from bad controls and programming. I compiled few programming flaws at the end. Frame rate is poor on A500, I used custom settings to make this run little bit faster. Hard Drivin' II has better controls, more tracks, a track construction kit and better intro music.
2:13 Qualify (speed track)
3:55 Championship lap (music)
4:40 Championship lap (stunt track)
7:08 Programming fails -

"You have qualified for the Championsh- oops... nevermind, you crashed."
I actually remember sitting with my brother as we discussed how real and cool that house in this game looked and all sorts of other things. My god, I miss the 80s and early 90s so much.
I wish the Amiga version had that "crash" music.
Now I remember playing this game on Atari. Thanks a lot ! (tear of nostalgia)
Wow the frame rate looks pretty damn good much better than the other ports I've seen, then again the Amiga version of games usually were the best! I used to play Street Rod 1 and 2 on the PC, I was blown away when I discovered the Amiga versions, they blow the PC versions off the road!
Then you find yourself on this video again over 9 years later!
Then again around 1 year later! I ended up here this time from looking at Beverly Hills Cop on the Amiga.
terrible conversion, but some of the sound effects were decent enough that I "borrowed" them for my Amiga-generated cartoons.
There is a trick you can do to prevent the car skidding
The sound of the brakes are the Chase HQ.
I remember my version of this game crashed a lot too. You know the game crashed and an 'Amiga BSOD' popped up
Everything was so buggy when it used to play well,I just couldn't believe some of the things that happened while playing back as a kid. I just didn't understand that bugs could exist in computer games
Never played or seen this one. Reminds me of Stunt Car Racer.
Actually it's more like pc/amiga game stuns / 4d driving or what ever the difference between naming usa / euro releases were.
Guru Larry, I swear you're everywhere on CZcams! But to answer your question (10 months after the fact) Hard Drivin' 1 and 2 run about the same. This particular recording, as stated on RecordedAmigaGames, is running on "custom settings" rather than a stock 68000 A500/A2000. This is what you'd expect if you ran it via WHDLoad on a 1200.
4 1989, graphics look GOOOOODDDDD
I HATED this game so much that I actually snapped the disk in front of my friend (which he laughed afterwards and said "Oh well...that WAS a crap game after all huh!)

theres a car, look its PWNED!!!
How close is this to driving a real car? I am thinking of buying this to help me pass my driving-test
looks a little better than I thought. I bet you wouldnt get these kind of frame rates on your average A500.
It runs so much smoother than the Mega Drive version.
this is emulated and accelerated, i can assure native framerate is BAD
Framerate was only bad on an a stock a500/a2000. On Amiga 1200 it was great. Take a look at the "Hard Drivin Amiga 500 left Amiga 1200 right" video on CZcams.
@@MrAmi69 please add URL
However this came out in 1989 so lot of people who got the 1200 already reused the disk by then
I have a vivid memory of hitting the cow by the barn and it mooing.
Can anyone else confirm this or was my child memory false?
@aediasse I think they're essentially the exact same game
Hard Drivin on the Amiga Port is better then Genesis Port on my opinion
Definitely a better port than the megadrive version, I think
Hard Drivin' + Amiga= Better than sex
Jurgen, you did an excellent work with Star Wars but darn messed up with this! go back and study more!!!
Did they even test this????
honestly it played so much better than this
I always wanted to love this game but it's ruined by the controls/car handling. It's like driving drunk on ice with bald tyres.
same here
You should have tried c64 version xD
@@C64Lover no i tryed it on emulator
It's crap (the game, not the video).
This game was an unplayable mess on the Amiga and it felt like being on ice skates for the first time in your life. C64 version was even worse. Racing games like Stunt Car Racer or the Grand Prix game by Microprose showed how those games could be done and be very playable on the Amiga.
The C64 version is an abomination! 😳
The Lotus games showed the Amiga could handle pseudo-3D racing games as well
On supercpu equipped c64 this game at once runs smooth yet it's still unplayable due to controls
