... Good to see a quiz show which 1) Has genuine celebrities on it 2) Not doing it for charity and 3) Does'nt need to put the word Celebrity in front of it! Thanks for the nostalgia! 👍👏👏👏👏
Happy days. Simpler, happier days. So glad I was young in the 70's and 80's instead of now 🥳🎉
You are so full of it. Life has never been better and I'm your age.
@@jjausyou’ve missed the point. Less distractions, less channels, less of a rat race, no social media bombarding our brains. They were certainly simpler times which for many equates to happier. I’m sure not the same for all but your comment is unnecessary.
@@DiscordantVice Apparently you think you're in charge of me. You're not. Are you the reigning Miss Manners of your oeuvre? If you feel your brain is being bombarded by social media and more channels, you're an idiot. Nobody is making you. Unless you're tied to a chair like Clockwork Orange.
Indeed...i remember this show as a kid.
Great to see Kenneth Williams and Bernard Bresslaw together
They should have played it in character from “Carry on Henry”!
Yeessss ! Randi Lal(The Kharsi of Kalabar) and Bhungdit Din reunited at last ( Carry On Up the Khyber)
@@rossdelain1645 of Jacksi to be precise😄. Fakir off!!
Am I the only one who still wishes they'd gone on to complete the production of the Star wars/Star Trek spoof Carry On Up Uranus in the summer of 1980?
I remember hearing reports that production was underway, and then nothing more was heard.
That would have been cool. Maybe they had legal wrangles on that one. @@sirbarnabyst.johntoffingto9017
I absolutely Love Bernard Bresslaw, he's such a darling man x
I used to love this growing up ... simpler happier times ❤
My mother used to cut Bernard Bresslaw's hair in London back in the 70's he used to have everyone in stitches in the salon mum said
Oh !! How lovely !! Wonderful !
What a shame we don't have a line up of people like that today!
Sorry, that would require people with class, style, comedy and acting ability!
Give me a break!
Ahh yes the typical "Lets shit on the modern generation" comment. You boomers really do have an inexhaustible supply of bile.
@@Sakura_Shadows Don't like the truth much?
@@Sakura_ShadowsWhat a snotty little oik you sound!
A whole bunch of legendary talent, right there. Kenneth Williams in a class of his own. Fantastic
Give Us A Clue S5 feat Kenneth Williams, Bernard Bresslaw, Maureen Lipman 1543pm 7.2.23 i think maureen lipman must be the only one still alive.. she will outlast us all one feels.
@@JJONNYREPP she never looks older. Fair play 😊
@@xxFORDIExx Comments on ‘Give Us A Clue S5 feat Kenneth Williams, Bernard Bresslaw, Maureen Lipman’ 2154pm 7.2.23 who looks what older than whom? is it unwritten law wherein we dont mention the lipman?
I would have been twelve at the time of this footage and at senior school. Aunt Sally, Beattie, Abdul, Poopface and Bert Spooner (Chanson D'Amour fame!)
Mike Berry & Michael Aspel.
The ladies are so elegant and well spoken.🌹
They all are! ❤
We need more of this on TV now… it IS POSSIBLE btw… not everyone is THICK FICK N FAT
Standards, innit?
Yea they are like very well spoken like. When I first heard them I was, like wow like!
No plastic fillers in their faces I bet
They broke the mould with Kenneth 😂 he kills me 👍🏆
Thanks for the upload. Real celebrities with style, intelligence and wit. What are we left with...? Don’t answer that!
It's not only cream that floats😂😂
Scarlet Moffat and H from Steps
Big Zuu😂
This must have been a much later show.
The original theme music was the same as the Grange Hill theme.
Gemma Collins?!
Love Una Stubbs! She was Aunt Sally in Wurzel Gummidge.
...and mike berry played the childrens father in that too
Her and Lorraine chase
She was also in a few movies with Cliff Richard.
Una was famously Alf Garnett's daughter and wife of the " lazy Scouse git!"😊
@vonsausage6312 I know daughter in Sickness and health
Wow, I enjoyed that!
What a blast from the past.
Memories as a child of everyone hiding their eyes when it comes on the screen so they could guess along.
Wonderful.
I grew up in the 70s and 80s and I have to say it was the best two decades of my life. Life was normal and simple with no insta, mobile phones or even computers, family time was much better and we only had TV channels, not even computers well not for personal ones. Everything on Sunday was closed as it was Church and family time. How times have changed.
Awesome to see the classic and funny Bernard and Kenneth Williams such legends this would be 1982 😂😂❤
Great upload, when celebrities had real humour and personality
Ooh a new series with Kenneth Williams. I always love seeing him in stuff
Ooh stop messing about
Brilliant. Grew up watching this. UKGold needs to bring this back. Still enjoyable today
i could watch old telly all day.. (and often do!)
thankyou for sharing this 🙂 x
i much prefer it to today's offerings..
me too, and im 17! My parents brought me up on cassette tapes for audiobooks ass a child as my mum bought the rights to some bbc tapes so had a load. Because of that, I appreciate media around the 70s and 80s more than todays and thank goodness as I wouldnt wish for anything else
@@sedonakemp7716 that sounds great..
this (CZcams) and the bbc sounds app is about the only place i can find such stuff these days..
have you got a channel?? 🙂
Unless is live sport or movies I don't watch anything today's Tele has to offer rather watch stuff like this on CZcams
Remember Mind Your Language with Francoise Pascal?
PhwooOoarr, eh?
I totally agree, I think they should put these repeats on the actual telly, even perhaps late at night ? I bet it would get tonnes of viewers, both for the nostalgic value, & the fact that it's so much better than today's tripe
What a different world we lived in.
Una does move x2 the speed of everyone else 😂😂
Yes,she was what used to be known as a "sprite"
I apparently had a chat with Bernard from the audience when he was doing panto in my home town, we had everyone in stitches I'm told, I just wish I remembered it all.
Wow. This is so awesome. The simplicity, talent and gravitas of the game and the celebs is top class. Thank you for uploading.
Back when we enjoyed good clean fun…
This was aired 1 Month shy of my 10th birthday lol Myself and mum watched this very often.. great to watch this again and great memories 🙏
I loved this. Good old times.
Wow I used to love watching this with my Nan . Such great memories ❤️
Audiences expected more in those days. They also spoke English. If only we had known, we took so much for granted, that Our Country was Secure.
And how many languages did our country destroy in the past through colonalism? Think on that, eh?
@@wleon4068 we don't need to, "think on that."
We're not responsible for what our forefathers did.
@wleon4068 what?? Get out of Britain
@@TheRetroManRandySavageOf course. Likewise should we not still expect ridiculous reparations & apologies from the Japanese for their alleged war crimes 😉
@@richardingamells7213 still waiting for the Italians to cough up for the 500 year's we were occupied by the Romans.😂
This is from season 5, aired on May 11th 1982.
What a ray of sunlight Una is ! .. ☀
It's funny how this popped up on my feed because im actually half way through reading Kenneth Williams diary's at the moment.
You weren’t having a Barclays were you?!🤪
@@Flubbydubbydoodoo Well, I always leave a deposit if I've used Barclay's.
I have met mike Berry at the London film 🎥 convention
He was a very nice guy and I got his autograph
I met him too when I was younger and una Stubbs she was adorable as well x
He wzs in Worzel Gummidge as well as Una
Who can forget Una Stubbs sitting open-mouthed as Lionel Blair, his hands a blur, finished off Twelve Angry Men in under 2 minutes?
Lionel was good at his job.😂
Legendary. You listened to the incomparable Humphrey Lyttelton on "I'm sorry I haven't a clue"😂
I always find the sirry, i haven't a clue references to Lionel Blair a bit below the belt, despite the fact that the radio show is brilliant. Jack Dee does a great job too. But, i also used to enjoy Give Us A Clue..
Loved this programme as a kid
"Up yours!" 😂
I loved this show and always enjoy a bit of nostalgia but I love many of today's shows too.
I remember watching this on tv as a lad, brings back happy memories.
Before TV was dumbed down to amoeba levels of entertainment
I carried Lionel's luggage when he stayed at the Hilton Hotel a couple of times with Marti Cain in the early 90' s both nice people, Lionel was very bubbly & Marti was quite, RIP & they made the effort the address one by ones name !
It's young Mr Spooner!
🎶Chanson d'amour - rat a tat a tat 🎶
@@jrsc01."All I see is two big semi-quavers!"
Una stubb & Lionel Blair RIP 😥
I could listen to una talk forever
Blimey, Lionel's all-white clobber! He was the first celebrity I saw in real life, walking down from Lincoln Cathedral. I don't remember the series quite this early on, but the Liza Goddard ones with the different theme tune where their names were sung 😊
I actually liked Lionel Blair too especially after his legendary “Gotcha” by Noel Edmunds and Celebrity Big Brother: seemed a nice guy.
God I remember this show loved it
How civilized, and just a bit cheeky,
ANNA DAWSON .. GOD ,, MANY A STOLEN TIME BACK IN THE DAY DREAMING OF HER..
Just dreaming?
The presenter & cast would now have to be a majority of BOXTICKERS…🤷🏼🧐👍🏻
Fantastic video ! Hope you upload more !
Maureen Lipman was stunning.. ❤😊
Cor! Not 'alf!
Bernard Bresslaw wasn't so bad, either!!😁
Yeah, i don't remember her being such a hottie.
Not so much now. Word on here is that she's popular with her fellow actors, but less so with backstage crew.
So sad that most of celebrities on the show are no longer with us .
If you count Michael Aspel, over half of them are still alive...
Yeah old fashioned characters…don’t see the like nowadays.
Yes they demand high payment!
Debbie Arnold was on 🔥in this episode.
When tv was worth watching
Awwwwww home I miss it so so much
Loved Una since 'Til death us do part.'
I used to love the show. Thanks for the upload 🤩
Real celebrities from a real era 😁😁😁
Wish they would bring this back to present day
Oh, shut those doors. My friend Everard! Kenny classic catchphrases.
Nice one I'll watch this later Kenneth and Bernard are funny..
una stubbs 😍😍😍
Aunt Sally
Una Stubbs from Worzel Gummidge and Mike Berry the Dad also from Worzel Gummidge.
Lionel Blair is so tanned I used to think he was Indian, when I wàs little lol
I used to wonder too.
What days these were. I had a massive crush on Liza Goddard who was beautiful. In about 1981-1982 when I was working in Aldwych House in the Aldwych in London, and about 21 years of age, a woman ran out of the Aldwych Theatre or Waldorf Hotel, probably the hotel, to get into a taxi which a top and tails dressed doorman was beside holding open the door for her. She ran into me and bounced backwards almost knocking me over. She was very apologetic and gave me a kiss on the cheek as an apology. It was Liza Goddard. To say that I nearly fainted is an understatement. Too this day this 62 year old man is still in love with her classical beauty and amazing personality. and soul.
bring this back
Pure class
Golly. Wrapping a TV show around a parlour game goes back a long way.
They could bring this back but it wouldn't be the same. The celebrities would be a load of reality 'stars' 😒
That's So true, and tragic ..
From memory, the girls tended to win more than the boys.
Una Stubbs and Maureen Lipman, my favourite 'older women' when I was young.
Most have now sadly departed this life.
Only 4 of them.
1982 in fairness.
I thought that bloke was Paul Mariner of Ipswich
😂😂
They are ringers!!
Mike Berry still wears that 'do to this day
The Helmet Head look.
REAL Entertainment. 😃👍.
Anna Dawson reminds me of Sharon Osbourne.
That's not nice Sharon Osbourne is an idiot
you just know kenneth and lionel had a right old time after the show
@Brozotes any chance you have the episode from October 5, 1982 with Marty Feldman? I’d love to see that. Thanks!
bliss
Hard to believe this was over 40 years ago. Seems like yesterday.
Bring back Lionel Blair and Una Stubbs we are sick of Alison Hammond and Lenny Henry
I always had a bit of a crush on Maureen Lipman.
An all white cast Jesus imagine that now
Ahhh it’s a young Eveline on Corrie and mister B from Are u being Served .
Hold on, I was told that TV was entirely male dominated until very recently, there is a captain and a female team. Have I been lied to?
Yes, yes and most definitely
Only those rhat watched will get that@@meinjapan
Yes
My thoughts exactly
I remember this but this must be an early version
Dear lionel took this show so seriously. I loved how he used to try to hide his disappointment behind a smile but you could see it was fake a mile off. I loved this show so much.
It would be lovely to see this show brought back, hopefully without all the bells and whistles of modern shows!!😄
It could be "reimagined" as Give Us A Clue what gender you are! 😂
And for those who listen to old episodes of ‘I’m sorry I haven’t a Clue’, as Humphrey Lyttelton frequently told us the undisputed mime master of ‘Give Us Clue’ was surely Lionel Blair……
Just sub
Excellent channel 👍
When girls were called girls and boys called boys. I miss those days.
Amazed that they haven't bought this back
Almost looks like they broadcast this before editing, or just didn't bother!
Ken and Bernard had very high IQ's and were very, very clever people
Here here
Man, Una Stubbs was an absolute hottie back in the day
A well fit Aunt Sally back in the day !
Love me some lipman
This was a great show, but it was on at a horrible time, the daytime, when one would be working. If you had a VCR, then you were lucky.
This was shown in the evenings, originally.
All dead now. RIP. What great personalities.
Michael Aspel is still with us
@@ShearForce1 As is Mike Berry, who is still touring with his band.
And Maureen only 4 dead
Alive and well but they`re not allowed on TV anymore, they`re not black or gay or disabled.
