In about 1981-1982 when I was working in Aldwych House in the Aldwych in London, and about 21 years of age, a woman ran out of the Aldwych Theatre or Waldorf Hotel, probably the hotel, to get into a taxi which a top and tails dressed doorman was beside holding open the door for her. She ran into me and bounced backwards almost knocking me over. She was very apologetic and gave me a kiss on the cheek as an apology. It was Liza Goddard. To say that I nearly fainted is an understatement. Too this day this 62 year old man is still in love with her classical beauty and amazing personality. and soul.

Dear lionel took this show so seriously. I loved how he used to try to hide his disappointment behind a smile but you could see it was fake a mile off. I loved this show so much.

It would be lovely to see this show brought back, hopefully without all the bells and whistles of modern shows!!😄

And for those who listen to old episodes of ‘I’m sorry I haven’t a Clue’, as Humphrey Lyttelton frequently told us the undisputed mime master of ‘Give Us Clue’ was surely Lionel Blair……

This was a great show, but it was on at a horrible time, the daytime, when one would be working. If you had a VCR, then you were lucky.
