Kenneth Williams was always a hoot
@the_ lichemaster They'll never be another. Much missed.
Only michael aspel and the beautiful nanette Newman are still with us.
What fantastic telly .. i miss programs like this.. funny kind and just nice..
Everything these days, is sex ,violent , lude horror ,nudity bad mannered at least we had decent standards then , god help us ten years from now x
Nanette Newman was a looker, wow!!! Una Stubbs is just delightful, lovely lady
Nanette was a stunning woman. And I always liked Una Stubbs.. seeing her now she really reminds me of Paula Yates in manner and face.(that's not a bad thing, as far as I'm concerned anyway, for either of them)
Did I tell you I was Mollie Sugden’s bridesmaid
😂😂😂
Please tell me she had purple hair in real life.😝
Wow! WHEN?
Quality guests and genuinely likable celebrities, unlike the shower of s....we have to tolerate today.
So very true!
Kenneth Williams was a genius at miming
@Lurking He was a genius. Full stop.
I love how Kenneth Williams makes it all so hyper competitive .
He brings his character from the BBC radio shows just a minute i think !
Kenneth was Kenneth, most GUAC guests - actors primarily - looked marooned and quite uneasy without a character to hide behind, small wonder he stood out, love him
Take us back to those days
God no
I loved Una. Bless ❤ her soul.
The best !
I recognised her from "Summer Holiday".
I'd forgotten how anarchic Kenneth Williams could be! One of a kind. This was such a fun show, although very dated even at the time in 1981!
Amazing cast. Bloody hell it’s a tough show though.
A really enjoyable and entertaining show from back in the day. Some real characters on here, especially Kenneth Williams and Lionel 'Rat-A-Tat-Tat' Blair. Thank you for the upload.
This edition was originally broadcast on December 31st 1981.
Childhood memories ❤😢
Lionel in a kilt! What an unexpected treat.
Lionel Blair was as camp as a row of tents. I remember being surprised to learn he was straight and married with kids.
Another interesting fact - he was once taking a stroll along Blackpool central pier with comedian Alan Carr when they spotted a suicidal man hanging from the railings. They pulled him off and he was fine in the end.
Could he not have married an adult.
RIP Patricia Brake
A lovely revisit to the show.Always fun and great to see the 'greats' of yesteryear 👍
Nanette and Michael are the only ones still alive as of
July 21st 2023.
Really miss Kenny Williams. He was utterly unique.
Love this show!
Mrs. Slocumbe from Are You Being Served? She is hilarious!!
15:59 as Kenneth rightly said, and surely most/all of us were thinking...why didn't he just point to his or someones elses "back" . made such hard work of it. got to say with the Cinderella rockefella, the guessing by the women was not up to the usual standard. very passive. great upload as usual. working my way through these.
only Nanette left of the contestants, :-(
We’re all in our party frocks. Except you Michael.
I loved this show!
Nanette Newman. Quality crumpet.
Nice clean hands as well from all that Fairy Liquid
@@andynightingale7335 And as soft as your face
I watched this show from when it started in 1979 up till around 1981/2 when I left school and started work in January 1982
Both Una and Lionel gone with many of the ‘guests’
Many of the early guests are no longer with us🙏🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️😭😭
Only Aspel and Newman left
Ah, the font used for the timer 😊
Like an Apollo space launch lol
Lonnie Donegan confusing everyone by just not pointing to his back, wally donegan.
Especially as Kenneth Williams had already done it for his clue.
I agree, what a twat, no one got it and he didn’t even get why. Just point to someone else’s back if you have to. It’s like the easiest word to describe.
Is there anything worn under your kilt Lionel?
"No, everythings in perfect working order!".
Oh Lionel put your legs together. Used to watch with my parents i was 9, miss these family programmes
Talented interesting individuals, not like today's non entities 😊
Nanette Newman is the only one of the team members that is still alive.
:(
Aspen is still alive. 91.
It’s done the lot Nanette!
Jeez....Nanette Newman was a sunning looking woman.
Oooh, that Velour.
Kenneth Williams reminds me of a character on The Wild Thornberry’s.
Lionel cosplaying George Lazenby?
Gosh the are nearly all gone
Yep .just Nanette Newman 89 years old and Michael aspel 91 still alive
For any Americans watching, you might understand why when I hear the name Lonnie Donegan I remember David Letterman in 2010 talking about Jimmy Fallon.
How lionel blair got W.K.R.P in cincinnati from that mime i will never know .....looking back now im sure the team captains una and lionel got given the answers or fed down thier ear pieces to get the difficult mimes to help keep up the atmospher and intrigue on the show and to also make the scores neck and neck or close to it for the show that would keep folks watching ....nothing like a so close finish ect
Four letters in first word told him
Love on the dole is 4 words, you cant even count Una!
many of them got confused with syllables as well.
All four in the shot are now gone
With Going Straight and The New Avengers being name-checked I'm guessing this is Christmas 77/New Year 78.
Where's the Grange Hill theme tune?
Blimey, don't remember this theme at all.
Lionel's kilt is alarming
31st December 1981
I was about to say this was a hell of a show with the names they got on here.
But then I realised that forty years later, there’s not really such a thing as celebrity.
Thank God Lionel didn't have to mime "Who Killed Cock Robin!"
Such a better world and country we lived in them. Now what do we have?
Multiculturalism
Social responsibility, inclusivity, better lives for those who are disabled or gay, opportunities for women to do something other than drudge, replacement joints, venues without cigarette smoke in them, blood pressure treatments…

All brought to you by men.
@@JehanineMelmoth
How old are you?
@@iant9461 brought by campaigners, researchers and doctors including women, obviously.
Christmas was Christmas back then nowadays it’s to commercialised & all everyone wants now is everything open so they can drag kids around shops instead of family time at home and Christmas tv was worth watching
Here we go. Another thread of whinging old codgers with Swiss cheese brains who’ve only remembered two things from the last forty years and are now going to tell us how much better things were in the old days. Boring!
Lionel Blair Tony Blair : who can tell the difference ? And why would you want to? Though…Tony Blair in a kilt …..
They are all dead now expect Michael Aspel?
Was never a great show but it was fun & entertaining Nothing like that nowadays
81? i thought ir was the 70s lol
This was such a luvvy show no straight man ever watched it.
Was Lonnie Donegan in a coma?
They don't make shows like this anymore - thank goodness
RIP Sir Michael Parkinson
😢
What's he got to do with it?
@@robertomoi2044 he was host for a few series
The women have MUCH harder titles than the men.
No wonder America won in battle over this 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Imagine the outrage now of female vs male game show.
Simpler, happy times playing a parlour game.
*Most of these people are dead now.*
As you will also be one day.
😴😴😴
Oh my, the ladies were terrible!
😂 like who would wanna watch this fruity old shit again. It was bad enough first time round.
This was a tv show I dident view I found it very boring 👎👎👎
Hated this programme with a vegence ... cheesy awful show
How horrible. Obviously a shortage of men for this program.
