I totally agree with you here Antonio. I actually have 4 pairs of grey flannels - in different tones. As soon as the weather cools off, i shift from khakis to these for about 4 days of the week. Here in Calgary, that makes my flannels about a three season pant. I love them because any sport coat or sweater works. No effort dressing that looks put together. I actually have 2 plain grey flannel suits, and three of some version of a grey Prince of Wales check. Everything works with brown shoes. Overall, grey(ish) flannel is pretty forgiving with any colour of tie or socks too.
I'd just like to put in a plug for the other "forgotten" flannels, cream, tobacco, loden, caramel. I just can't find anything in a decent weight in chocolate brown. Maybe if you sell out of the grey ones, you can do the brown..

I like the look and the feel the trousers are suppose to have, but I'm in a tropical country. So I'm wondering if there is any alternative fabric that could pull off the look while being good for hot weather
oh the grey flannel trousers, one of these things I never thought I would find a good pair of since they are quite hard to find, at least in Sweden. But my hunting in the end was successful and I did find a pair, or two pairs rather. Had to pay abit but I wear them now all the time at work and they feel great.

I would be interested in these. I work with the public and always find it hard to find affordable classic styles. There is workwear companies that do this but i want something more dresser now that i have a more professional job. It also would be nice if other colors other than gray too.
Just a note on something you said. I have not put my wallet in a back pocket for around 35 years. I carry it in my left front pocket. Several reasons. I tend to squiggle when I am seated and I was wearing out the outside of my back pocket quickly. Sitting on a wallet gives you back problems. And it is less likely to be stolen out of my front pocket than my back pocket. One more, and you may have referred to this, it gives you a cleaner look.

Hey Antonio, what do you call trousers made from polyester and viscose? I bought a pair of dark grey trousers made from these materials and look quite formal, can i wear them with a plain coloured t-shirt despite the formality?
Antonio, those trousers look awesome, but they definitely highlight the shoes which makes them harder to use in a student's wardrobe.

I'm from the UK and once had a bespoke light/silver grey flannel double breasted suit. I had many bespoke suits made in the 1960's, the era that most young men in the UK had bespoke suits made for them. of all the suits I had made in wool worsted, the non worsted grey flannel suit was my favorite. Buddy buy your own fabric and get a tailor who is independent and cheap but does his job well. This way you will get a better value for the money you pay

Who made your custom pair?
I have a question about what can be worn with these flannel pants. Although I am only 45 years old, my father and grandfather used to watch those old movies from the 50's and 60's. Most of these movies were made in the UK, England and Ireland or Scotland and I always thought the men were dressed as classy gentlemen, not really business suits but gentlemen suits. They all wore single breasted coats or jackets with a vest. All were made from the same material.

My flannel trousers (high quality vitale barberis cloth) wear out very fast at the crotch area. I still enjoy wearing (and keep buying) them, but I probably get around 75 wears out of them.

What is the best way to safely wash flannels?
First, treat them like a suit meaning only wash them if they smell or if they have a stain. Second, check the tag to see if it says wash inside out and the temperature of the water. Third, you can wash it at home and press it yourself but sometimes it is best to go to a dry cleaner.

I have a massive disdain and am repulsed by skinny jeans or trousers and aren't a fan of slim ones either; (though it depends on the cut.) I'm 23 so I'm not an old guy but I prefer the drape of a fuller cut pair of trousers with little to no break. I think for the vast majority of people it looks better to have a little extra room rather than go super tight or really slim. You gotta keep in mind though, Antonio (like me) is old school. We prefer traditional cuts and styles. It's a matter of preference and I hate this idea that modern is superior or more desirable. Fuck. That.
