  • In this video I show you the Napoleon Kettle Grill in detail and BBQ some food on it so you can see it in action. The cooking area is about 55cm, plenty for most families of a normal size.

    Hello from Texas, just a quick recommendation for your corn. Trust me on this one,
    4 ears corn
    1/2 cup mayonnaise
    1 1/2 cups sour cream
    1/4 cup freshly chopped cilantro leaves
    1 cup freshly grated Parmesan
    Red chili powder or lemon pepper to taste
    limes cut into wedges, for juice on corn and garnish.
    Mix mayo, sour cream and cilantro in a bowl together. When the corn is done cover it with mayo mix all over, then sprinkle Parmesan on top. Next sprinkle chili powder or lemon pepper on top of that. Finally squeeze lime juice all over and enjoy. (Life changing)

      Thanks Anisa, really glad you enjoyed the video and garden, we spend hours in the garden so it’s really nice when people comment. If you do go ahead and purchase this bbq make sure you have the legs attached to the base the right way round, as the lid only fits in one position. If you do fix the legs in the wrong position you will notice that the wheels will be at the front of the bbq, not ideal, but something I found out, very annoying. Thanks again for the kind comments and the subscription👍

    • @thedrivebygg
      @thedrivebygg  Před 2 lety

      Hello Kevin, cheers for your comments. I would say the coals did about 3 hours, without any more being added. Its like most BBQ’s you have to moderate the heat using a combination of the air vents, top and bottom, highering and lowering of the cast iron grill, has 3 height settings and by closing and opening the lid. The temp gauge on the top of the bbq helps you know where you are, and if your searing meat it indicates the correct temperature on the temp gauge.

      @thedrivebygg Thanks! Only if you find time to reply: Is it OK to use lump charcoal when I'm grilling for under an hour? I read that some people find that red hot lump pieces fall through. Can that damage anything do you think?
      I was hoping to use lump for medium to high direct heat applications that take less than an hour, and briquettes for anything over an hour for a longer and more even heat source over time.
      I ordered the pro a couple of days ago, so I'll find out for myself soon!
      And do you find the vents are giving you good control over the temperature?
      Thanks again for drawing my attention to this product and hope having a great weekend 🌞

I will be honest I haven’t tested the thermometer accuracy and the low and slow cook. I have however barbecued 2 full chickens over about 2.5 hours and that worked fine, however the end taste wasn’t to my liking, to Smokey, perfect for ribs and steak though. You won’t be disappointed it’s a great barbecue and I always love using it, it’s just nice to use and cook on.

    • @ICUEverywhere
      @ICUEverywhere Před 2 lety +1

      I don't like hinged type lids. Depending where you live in a high humid area these hinges will rust. Now if I lived in Arizona I wouldn't have a problem. My weber does have the lid rack and the charcoal ash can. I don't think I'd like the ventilation tied into the ash can assembly. You can only get direct heat while mine has direct and indirect heat ventilation. This helps to slow cook and smoke food using the weber charcoal trays. But hey if you enjoy your grill as it is then that's all that matters. Everyone has different uses for their grills. I do a lot of smoking, overtime cooking and rotisserie cooking which I didn't see a port for installing a rotisserie on your grill, however while you do have a cast iron grate the weber sells one that can do many styles of searing. I always look for the happy medium when buying charcoal grills especially ones that compliment my style of grilling. I wasted a ton of money on a charcoal ceramic egg thinking it would be the ideal grilling companion however the food always ended up too done or to smoky because you had to finess and stay with it do to the incredible heat these ceramic grills generate and they hold that residue from smoking which is hard to clean off vrs a steel grill without damaging the ceramic.

      a good tip for more efficiency is to get fireplace door fibreglass wool to wrap around the stainless ring where it inserts into the base and possibly the exhaust the Napoleon pro will perform just like a kamado and run for a whole days cook on a small amount of charcoal, had a pro cart for a few years now and it is the best bbq i have ever used plus all my old bbq accessories and grill fit it giving me a pizza oven plus rotisserie with the lid from my old kettle making it a ultimate setup for all cooking requirements as i have cooked sides for 50+ people on my Napoleon for a 50th whole pig on the spit. 👍 and i live in Australia and use timber that burns 500+°c and the Napoleon doesn't warp or lose any surface coating on the ceramic. 👍👍
